I'm a believer that to make change last, you need to find something sustainable. Is that a routine you can live with forever? For me, it wouldn't be at all, but for some people maybe. If not for you, it'll only set you up for disappointment. I also echo 1200 is not near enough food on that routine. Strong Curves is a good…

He's a 13 y.o. boy...he will eat everything in the house. That's what they do. I've raised 3 of them and have the grocery debt to prove it. Your options are to find your own place to live, ask your parents to replace it (tough one if you already get free room and board), subtract the $$$ from the room and board you pay…

When you exercise and try to build muscle, you still need protein. Generally, though, you won't build muscle on calorie deficit anyway. If this is a doctor controlled diet, you should ask your doctor what your macros should be. That said, tbh, you don't look such a size that you need strict doctor control, medication, etc…

I wasn't thinking cereal when I saw the heading...occupational hazard where my mind goes. Now I can't get rid of the diet image it did create in my mind. Glad I was wrong. Don't know anything about the one you speak of, but it has to be better than the alternative interpretation that popped into my head. Sorry, random…

I don't see why not. I do it every second day...3-4x per week

It's hard to convince anyone who has a perception about their body, that it isn't so as far as others looking, but fwiw, your legs are not out of proportion at all from what I see. Continued weight loss without strength training will result in more muscle loss....maybe not much with only a 5lb goal, but there will be some…

Strength training your legs won't make them look bulky, but it will help you maintain the muscle you have and your legs will look more shapely. Just losing weight (muscle mass will come off as part of that weight) will not get you shapely legs...it will get you skinny legs, There's a difference, imo

I have PCOS...only recently diagnosed as I've aged, but I've been on thyroid mediation for 20+ years. I was diagnosed for that early enough, but no one really caught on to the rest for a while. You can lose weight with PCOS. It's said it's harder than without....may or may not be the case. With dedication and…

I do it in a notebook. I track in notes on my phone while at the gym so I can remember the info when I get home to write it in my notebook. There are some apps you can get, but I didn't find any I liked. If doing SL 5x5 it has its own app that works alright.

I'm much the same when I do yoga...seem to always be finding myself opposite and need to be mindful of my breathing....I guess that's partly the point...to be aware of your breath When lifting, I do better with exhale on exertion. It comes a little more naturally when coming out of a squat or a big lift of some sort to…

I couldn't get past chicken breast and ketchup. I'm sure your point was a good one, but chicken breast and ketchup? Nasty

Yep, me, too. I love them. They make me feel tough and I think they're sexy, although I find if I'm lifting consistently they become less pronounced. If I take time off from things like deadlifts, etc, for whatever reason, then my hands get out of practice and I get them more noticeably again...if that makes any kind of…

Talk to a nutritionist/dietician to get professional advice for sure, but my personal experience with pre-diabetes has been exercise along with reducing my carb intake and ensuring the vast majority of the carbs I do have are whole grains, fruits, and veggies in addition to keeping an eye on my added sugars has reversed my…

Where does the 90 minute minimum for weight loss come from? Is that a suggestion for exercising out a bad diet and not calorie counting or? No way I exercise 90min every day and I've lost over 65lbs. I lift weights 40-60 minutes 3-4x per week. I try to get in a walk with the dog or on the treadmill if I can and I go to…

Begin a new start today. The holidays are tough. Bit of a train wreck for me with goodies and chocolates and all the everythings, too. I'm glad I was almost at maintenance before the holiday season rolled around, so I had 8 months or so of good habits built up to fall back on in the new year. The trick is to chalk it up as…

My turkey and veggie stir fry tonight is 156 cals. Most of those are calories from the 119g of turkey breast, so I suppose it's possible if you cut back the turkey, but it's the protein I'm after.

My thoughts, too. I do yoga. I find it helps my flexibility for lifting and the stretching is a good thing. My main exercise is lifting. I do some cardio on the side, but not at the gym. Most of the classes like listed above are really more cardio than strength.

Some people spend too much energy worrying about whatever other people do, so I'd ignore them. I don't wear make-up at all anywhere, but couldn't care less about other people's make-up choices

Yep, recipe builder...or sometimes I just keep track of the total ingredient amounts and divide it by whatever before I log it. It is a bit of work either way, but you get used to it after a while
-
No, not a problem for me at all anymore :) My 2 cents on this problem that comes up the forums routinely...you'll get a lot of comments asking how you got overweight in the first place if you can't eat 1200 calories......sometimes it's because people are logging wrong and are actually eating more, but in a lot of cases…

I'm not a heavy sweater....I sweat a little, but not a ton. It's probably why I've never liked hot weather. My body isn't very good at cooling itself with sweat. I went to a spin class one time where the lady on the bike in front of me literally had sweat pools on the floor around her bike and she was tiny and fit looking.…

It's not the video. It's the implication of "real". Deciding who is real and who is not is a judgement. I get that maybe wasn't her intent, but that's how language works. I only used the ripped as an example. I'm not there, so it's definitely not about me. Turn it around to a video showing hairy men and saying here's a…

I'll indulge myself with some dark chocolate. I prefer milk chocolate, but dark will satisfy the cravings, is easier to fit in my goals, and has more health benefits. I'll opt for the chocolate protein powder or work in protein bars with chocolate like a Quest chocolate brownie......and not gonna lie...sometimes none of…

I have no idea what relationship beans would have to your tummy size. I can think of other reasons why someone might want you to lay off beans leading up to a kung fu class, but beans don't make your tummy fat. Protein is important. You can't give up protein.
-
I don't get it either...I didn't have any issues with the video per se trying to reach a certain demographic of women to encourage fitness....Only with the OP saying "real". Coming from a former fat chick....if I've worked hard to reach my goals and am no longer out of shape...maybe even looking a little ripped would I no…

Yoga is in the database, but you have to look under cardio. I log my yoga classes if I'm not wearing my jawbone, but probably wouldn't bother just some at home planks or yoga moves unless I was doing it for a good chunk of time....say more than 20minutes continuous

On days I know I'll be more active, I triy to add more calories earlier in the day to better reach my goal. Today for example, I know I'm seeing my trainer after work and then have yoga class, so my food diary is pre-planned to the end of the work day with only about 300 calories left to goal, but by the time I get home…

Veggies, protein, and fat. I don't know why, but I find fruits make me hungry. I have to eat them with something else. If I'm hungry and eat an apple, I'm hungrier after.

Plain oatmeal can get dull and I'm not a big fan unless it's loaded with brown sugar and whipping cream, which doesn't often fit into my goals ...that's why I do the overnight oatmeal. It's different everytime I make it. Sometimes I throw in chia or hemp hearts...sometimes not. Sometimes I put in peanut butter or chocolate…

I tried those egg muffins...not really that good. I'm pressed for time in the morning as well cuz I usually do the gym before work and that doesn't leave much time to do anything else in the morning. Greek yogourt and fruit is a go to of mine. Also boiled eggs, protein bars, overnight oatmeal, and toast with peanut butter…
