  • At work 7:30 - 3:30, but not working very hard. Been here 2 hours and the phone has yet to ring. Ordered my new Nordictrack elliptical, and now going to log my breakfast and maybe use my hand weights that I keep under the desk. Would rather be at home continuing the clean up though!!
  • I eat baby carrots and scoop up some salsa with them, gets the salt craving taken care of! On my days that I am trying to just stick to my guns, I follow the rule that every snack has to be under 100, and 2 glasses of water in between everything I eat. Helps a little! Good luck!
  • Hi Vallar05 - Welcome to MFP!! I am with you! It's so hard to make time to keep ourselves healthy. Add me as a friend if you like - I am married 26 years, have 3 kids still at home, work full time. :-)
  • Welcome to MFP!! You can add me if you like - my 3 kids are older (17, 21, 23), but I still have them at home. I work full time and I need to: Make time every day to do SOMETHING Snack on healthier choices like fruit or veggies Pare down my portion sizes, especially my ice cream at night (!!) Get more sleep - 7 hours a…
  • Thank you for all the suggestions! I like the Nordictrak one that folds; I have to find somewhere that sells it and has one set up because I really want to try before I buy. Especially if I have to assemble it myself!
  • LOL re: the stride is too short - I am 5'2", sometimes the arc trainer I use at the gym bumps me up so high I can't keep my balance!!! I definitely need to try before I buy!
  • I agree 150%!!! I only had 10 lbs to lose, but had been trying to get rid of them for 2 years. Just did not "get" why if I was starving myself and walking it was not coming off. Once I started tracking what I eat and NOT doing stupid fad diets, it started to work. AMAZING! I am so grateful tomy sister for introducing me to…
  • Welcome to MFP!! You will find so much support here! I am 48, have 3 kids 16, 21, and 23 - send me a friend request if you like. I am not sure where you are on your journey; I am trying to maintain right now after losing 10 lbs, but everyone here is so helpful no matter where you are - so welcome again! April
  • Welcome to MFP! This site is terrific, and there is sooo much support! Tracking what you eat is a GREAT start! Good luck!

  • Absolutely nothing but support here. I have 3 kids, my daughters are thin but my son is overweight at 21. He will lose weight when HE is ready. I tell them I love them all the time, and that I am here for them whatever they need. MFP friends are here for YOU whatever you need. Do this for you, so that YOU can feel in…
  • Start very simply. If you have not ever been a fan of excercising, don't think of it as excercising! My mantra is "Eat less move more." Four words. Move every day. Something, anything. When you are going to the store, don't park near it, park further away. Seems simple, but a great place to start. Drink more water. I make…
  • I eat cherry or grape tomatoes as a snack. YUM!
  • About time he noticed, and isn't that so nice!!!
  • Lots of great suggestions!
  • Good for you! You should be proud of yourself! Way to go!
  • I have a goal weight on my profile, but really I just use a 3-4 pound range. So at 5'2" my goal 'range' is 127-131, so if I move around in that frame I'm fine with it. I agree about the charts being a little on the light side - they should adjust with every decade in age change. A 15 year old girl who is my height can…
  • I started a post on this once as well. My husband does NOT want me losing anymore weight! I am 1 pound away from my goal weight. Others have said he feels threatened, jealous, etc. Also, it would not kill him to lose 40 pounds, but he said , "If I even lost more than 10 pounds I would probably die of anorexia" so he def…
  • I have found that if I start slacking on the calorie counting, my portion sizes tend to increase and then I "forget" what a regular portion looks like. Portion control has always been my issue, I eat healthy, I just eat a LOT of healthy! But I do not obsessively put in each and every calorie. For example, if I put a…
  • WELCOME! MFP is awesome - I have suggested it to quite a few people, and most of them found it to be the key they needed to finally getting on track and losing weight. Feel free to add me as a friend for motivation and support! And congrats on joining us here - you will succeed and we will all cheer you on!! :flowerforyou:…
  • We had a friend visiting from California, and I made pepperoni bread - layers of mozzerella cheese and pepperoni sandwiched between sheets of Pilsbury Crescent dough - um yum!! And probably would've been ok if I only ate 1, but really, I can't just eat one. So I ate 5! :-( BUT, I worked my tail off in the yard all weekend…
  • I am close!! 48 (and also little memory lol) SW 137 (I think) CW 131 GW 127 Height 5'2" Friend me if you want to do some back and forth support!!
  • Great read! AND can be altered for any part of your life that needs to be changed!
  • I usually go by how my clothes fit OR the scale, whichever I like better LOL! You are doing GREAT - we are all so busy, I think anything except an upward movement of numbers is terrific. Some weeks that's all I hope for is no ground lost, ya know??:ohwell:
  • Hi Trish! Welcome to MFP! I joined about a month and a half ago and find it very user friendly, motivating, and inspiring! Add me as a friend if you like, we can motivate each other!!! One tip that I found helps - put up a picture, and fill out your profile info. Many people will search through the profiles for friends…
  • *Potty training the dog - in and out, in and out, in and out *Cleaning the floor when potty training fails *Cleaning the wall because the puppy must back up against it while having his accident *Did I mention cleaning the rug when potty training fails *Lugging the disgusting rug out to the trash can after the 25th failure.…
  • Ah, I forgot about running my mouth - so I guess I am still a runner!!
  • Good information from everyone. Thank you! I did sometimes question the massive calorie burn MFP claimed for me when I didn't even sweat very much! Yesterday, however, I worked EXTREMELY hard, and at the end of a tortuous 45 minutes, my machine had me pegged for only 140 calories LOL! It's working, so I'll stick with the…
  • I have reset my goals multiple times before - It helps to know I am not putting too much pressure on myself! Good luck!
