  • Hi! I'm pretty much in the same place you are. I was on here 2 years ago and doing great, then I dropped off and packed on 50 lbs. :( But I'm back, as of Monday, and I'm also doing Nutrisystem. I'd love to have you on my friends list to help each other stay on track!
  • Welcome to the club. ;) I lost 70 lbs at the end of my 20s, kept it off for 10 years, then got pregnant. I didn't gain a crazy amount with my pregnancy, but I actually gained MORE after! I'm working on taking it off now. It is harder for me this time, partially because of the slow down of my metabolism (cuz I'm old :D ),…
  • Congrats on your new adventure! I've done all sorts of different things over the years, and I've found that the methods are irrelevant if you don't have accountability. And this program is perfect for that! Feel free to add me as well!
  • I just bought a veggie spiral slicer and i've been loving making noodles out of sweet potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, and carrots. And I eat spaghetti squash 5-6 times a week! As for the meat, that can be hard to do unless you're okay replacing it with dairy (another good source of protein). Quinoa is a great option,…
  • Be careful which brand you choose. You may be getting more than you pay for... and not in a good way. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine-archive/2010/july/food/protein-drinks/whats-in-your-protein-drink/index.htm
  • I'm a big believer in finding an exercise that you enjoy, so you will more likely stick to it. You will burn more calories if you run the same distance outside, but you will burn NO calories if you don't like running outside and ultimately quit. Run on the treadmill as much as you want. I'm assuming you get a good sweat…
  • lol. i thought you said exercise with knee biscuits. :) I wouldn't rely on advice from here. Every situation is different, and the last thing you want to do is jack up your knees permanently. Only a doc should advise you on that. I would say that, if you have access, switching to swimming for a week or two might be great.…
  • What an inspiring story! Congrats on all your hard work and the amazing results. Keep it up!
  • We're glad you're here! Feel free to add me. You have a Heck of a road ahead of you and the support you'll find here can make a huge difference!

  • hanging on to my 30's by a thread (16 days and counting:noway: ). add away!
  • I'm a big fan of my tanita ironman scale. It measures not only weight, but your body composition as well. It uses bioelectric impedence to measure your comp, which is not the most accurate for a 1 time reading, but is extremely accurate to monitor change over time. For example, it might say you have 32% body fat. You could…
  • enter it under recipes! i have a few things i make on a regular basis, and it's so easy to just click that and select your portion size. the app does the math for you. :)
  • Try and add more high volume, low calorie foods to help you fill up. Fats and proteins take up less room in your belly than carbs, although they do take longer to digest. Try to put your proteins and fats on a big pile of greens and other veggies. keep baggies of veggies and fruit handy and ready for when you get cravings.…
  • following a plan is actually less complicated for me. i have to have some structure or i compromise and rationalize too many things. old ED brain likes to take over... ;)
  • I have been sticking to my program PERFECTLY and only down .8 lbs in the last 5 days. grrrrrr. but it's down and down is good. :) I've been doing the lindora program for the last few weeks and i have one more check in there before i'm on my own. My husband and I are looking to do the Chris Powell carb-cycling plan starting…
  • Chris Powell has a second book on the subject, released in 2013. I bought it last week for 2.99 for kindle. He offers 4 different kinds of cycling, including one to increase the rate of loss, and one to slow down the rate. That means getting to enjoy a smaller deficit each day (more food) while still consistently dropping…
  • It didn't link, but I copied and pasted. All done!
  • i log in every day. day 22 now and it has made all the difference. i was on a different site a few years back, and i was in the best shape of my life... all because of the daily accountability. feel free to add me!
  • Also on the post-pregnancy journey. Feel free to add me as a friend, and check through my friend list. There are a handful of other mamas doing the same thing on there. Welcome!
  • So, the scale isn't budging because you don't have any weight to lose. I second the suggestion to add in weight lifting to shape and tone, but when you don't have fat to lose, your body can only shrink due to muscle loss. An arbitrary number on a scale or a clothing label is not a good reason to become unhealthy!!
