  • December Goals: * Drink more water every day * Lose 7 pounds - goal weight for Jan 1 is 185 * Make exercise a priority * Stay below calorie goals - I have no problem staying under carbs, but I do have a problem with calories * Take my supplements regularly - I missed all of last week This week has been a challenge because…
  • I follow Pumpkin the raccoon on Instagram - too cute! I had no idea that raccoons could be pets. @RowdysLady
  • I'm up one pound to 192 from 191 last week before Thanksgiving. I consider that a win though considering years past. In the last week, I only exercised 2x with family in town and over indulged in food and drink - even keto snacks like nuts. I think I'm one of those people who has to track calories to lose weight. I am not…
  • Up until March, we had 2 German shepherd rescues. Sadly, our old guy crossed over the bridge a day after his 14th birthday. Now we have one and she is so spoiled!! :) She eats Iams...and lots of treats, but not low carb. I have a friend who rescues grey hounds and she feeds them a special raw diet, but it's expensive and a…
  • I couldn't even find marscapone at the store before Thanksgiving...I had to alter a few of my recipes.
  • I did not cheat at all on Thanksgiving other than consuming more calories than I should have, but yesterday we went to the movies (my daughter is home for Thanksgiving weekend)...and I had a big old cheat day. It started with popcorn which I had no intention of eating until my daughter said she wanted some (I even packed…
  • I agree it totally depends on your body. I take vitamin d3, iron, a multi and red rice yeast extract along with my thyroid meds. I also picked up some lite salt to supplement potassium and magnesium based on threads here.
  • I used powdered stevia for a few thanksgiving dishes (cranberry sauce and Keto pumpkin cheesecake) and don't really like the after taste. I'll try the liquid version next time - thanks for the tip!
  • I just picked up salted caramel and vanilla today because of this thread! :)
  • Congratulations - really impressive results!
  • I really like the almond and hazelnut...but the caramel and toffee sound yummy. I should really pick some up for those days when I get a sweet tooth. If you have a Cost Plus around, they're pretty inexpensive there.
  • I love going to the movies, but I do it so rarely these days. Movies and popcorn used to go hand in hand. I like the idea of the peanut butter celery sticks and nuts. My daughter wants to go to the movies this week when she's home from school on break. :-)
  • So did you basically eat eggs for lunch and dinner and then just BPC in the morning?
  • My easy go to is baked chicken thighs (seasoned), bone in with the skin on which gets extra crispy...almost like fried chicken. Served with a veg smothered in butter. In fact I have some baking right now. I love eggs too...not sure if I would ever get tired of them.
  • No weight loss in the last 2 weeks...sort of. I'm in a super hormonal phase right now and my Dr. discontinued one of my thyroid meds, increased another. My body must be adjusting. I'm still on plan diet wise. I had hoped to be below 190 by the end of November. It might still happen. Today I stepped on the scale and I was…
  • Wow - amazing! My total cholesterol is 205 - I hope I can bring it down on this WOE.
  • Monthly Goals: Start weight: 194 - Same weight this week as last - at least I haven't gained. Goal weight: Under 190 * Stay on plan. ✓ * Make exercise a priority even when life gets busy ✓ (I've walked 3 x this week and took today off) * Drink enough water - needs improvement * Continue to learn about this WOE - needs…
  • Check in - sigh - in a holding pattern and am the same weight as last week. I feel good though - lots of energy! Stats: 50 years old, 5'4" SW: 10/04/2016-199 CW: 11/7/2016-194 GW:135
  • I was saving my walk until after 5pm, and then I realized it would be dark. :s
  • @Kimo159 - that hot cocoa recipe sounds really good! I'm going to try it someday when I want something warm, but I've had too much coffee for the day.
  • I listened to a podcast the other day and the founder of Quest bars was the guest - the company just come out with a new chip product that is supposed to taste like the leading brand of potato chips, but they're high protein, low carb. http://www.questnutrition.com/quest-chips/ Anyone tried them yet? I haven't even tried…
  • Sounds like an interesting tool...I got glutened a few weeks ago and it was not pleasant. I think I lost 2 pounds in an hour. I try to be super careful, and despite this I sometimes wonder if staff just think it's a trendy dietary thing that most people don't really need to worry about. I haven't been glutened often, but…
  • Thanks for all the input everyone! We eat both lunch and dinner together since we both work from home for the time being. We normally do a protein and a big salad for lunch which he likes. For dinner, I've been exploring all these crazy high fat recipes loaded with cream and butter since it feels like I'm cheating. It's…
  • I think it's both - thinking it's unhealthy and the initial enjoyment of eating higher fat foods is wearing off. He was surprised my new doctor said to keep going. I wonder if I should switch lunch and dinner around - have a heavier meal at lunch and a lighter one in the evening. Tonight I tried explaining what a fat bomb…
  • It's tough...I've cut back significantly, but it's definitely a pleasure. The one thing I've noticed is that it tastes so much sweeter than before. Tonight I had a glass and didn't even finish it. I have noticed that after I've had wine, the next day I'll go from being in solid ketosis to mild.
  • For cocktails, I like a dirty gin martini with 2 olives - it's a snack and drink in one. :D Otherwise, maybe a gin/vodka and diet tonic with a lime or sub favorite alcohol and diet soda. Snacks - portions of nuts, pickles, and those baked cheese things sound delish!
  • @Kurzweil - This is wonderful to experience pain relief from your food choices and losing weight! I think it's always a good to be reminded of the alternative once in awhile. Plantar fasciitis is no joke! I'm 60# overweight and I've been experiencing foot/heal pain when I wake up in the morning for the past few years. At…
  • I'm in even though I'm also doing the 90 day challenge. :) I need all the accountability I can find! Monthly Goals:* Stay on plan. I started this WOE the beginning of October and I am down 5 pounds. It's not melting away, but I'm encouraged and I feel 100% better than I did prior to starting. * I'd like to lose another 5…
  • Check in - sigh - in a holding pattern and am the same weight as last week. My only consolation is that I can feel that SW is near and I tend to retain 3-5 pounds during this time. Stats: 50 years old, 5'4" SW: 10/04/2016-199 CW: 10/31/2016-194 GW:135
  • Congratulations!!
