Wow, you all look so amazing. Great inspiration! Here's mine. Still a work in progress though :) Around 30ish lbs still to go. Top right, at my heaviest ~ 224 in 2013 Left - October 2014 when I joined the gym, 40 lbs gone at that point Bottom right, taken last week (May 2015). 57 lbs down between both photos on the right.

Just coming back to read the responses, and realized I hadn't answered this question. No, he didn't recommend a plan, nor any future monitoring. I'm going to wait a bit longer before considering his advice. There are some things mentioned on this thread I'll try first. If I had specific health issues requiring i get the…

I agree, incorporate into your settings so that your daily calorie counts already takes it into account.

You just have to fit it in. I know that sounds blunt, but it's true. I'm a mom of 3 young kids (ages 2-11), and work full time as well, and often have to squeeze in quite a bit of overtime if pressure is on at work. My oldest two boys are in several organized sports, so have sports activities almost every evening. But I…

Your post made me so happy and teary eyed at the same time. Good for you! I have experienced many of the same NSVs you have listed, and while all are great, the best one ever for me is related to your #4 - being an inspiration to my kids. My boys now ask to work out with me, and tell me they love our work out times…

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read and provide feedback. I appreciate each comment. For those that doubt my belief that i'm eating 1200 calories a day and not losing, I get the cynicism. I do. But calorie counting is not new to me. I've been at this for a while now, an have lost 57 lbs. I'm not going to say my…

I've been at this a while, and have lost quite a bit. I'm not going to say my tracking is absolutely perfect (because there are times I can't measure/weigh), but I think it's pretty good. I track everything, so no cheat meals that aren't counted (I don't believe anything is a cheat btw, if you track everything). I lost it…

You have to do what works for your own family situation. For me, I go to the gym at night, after my 3 kids go to bed...or during my lunch hour if my work day isn't too busy.
-
Sorry to be blunt, but you need to make time. No one else is going to force you to work out or eat well. You need to do it yourself (and your kids). Try fitting in workout time over your lunch break, or after everyone else is in bed.

I lost 60 lbs after my first child (10 years ago). After 2 more pregnancies, gained it all back and then some. Now my baby making days are over, and i'm trying to get my body back, not to the way it was, but at least better than it is now :) 3 c-sections has done a job on my tummy. I've lost 55 lbs so far this time around,…

I'm 40. Have lost 55 lbs, another 30ish to go. Will re-evaluate to see if I need to lose more once I reach that point. Am a working mom, with 3 kids, so pretty busy most of the time, it takes a bit of juggling to fit in gym or workout time. Feel free to add me.

I have 3 kids, and have always worked. The first two I took a years mat leave, for the 3rd, I only took around 2 months. I have gotten some opinions on continuing to work, but I spent years in university and college, and chose to have both a career and family. Being a "working" mom or SAH mom, one isn't better or worse…

With no weight, i've done at most 190/day. With barbell, my max so far 3x5 at 115 lbs

I've had two surgeries to fix the same hernia. For both I was told no activity for 6-8 weeks, and absolutely no lifting - I wasn't even allowed to lift my 24 lb toddler. When I did start back training after the 8 weeks, i had to start out slow, and gradually increase my weights to build strength again. All I can say is…

Did you feel better about yourself when lifting and the scale wasn't moving, or now, that you've stopped and are gaining weight? When did you feel best about yourself? I bet you felt better then. Yes, the scale might not have shown you the numbers you wanted to see, but you felt better and stronger. That is what is…

I asked this a while back after my trainer gave my legs a workout. I was told lots of water, potassium, foam roller, and movement. It did seem to help, after a couple days the DOMS went away.

I did a squat challenge last month. Loved it. But I'll be honest, I don't think any program is going to change any part of your body in one month only. Sure doing it will help, but I didn't, and wouldn't, expect to see results that fast. My 2 cents FWIW.

I wish I could burn 1000 calories a day, I primarily strength train and for an hour I get less than 200 calories. I'd have to work out for 5 hours a day. Good luck to those doing the challenge though

wow, how could i not have thought to try this before. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow morning now.

You can definitely update your entries for previous days, but sorry I don't know if they get displayed on the newsfeed.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to lift, regardless of whatever your career is. Ignore those who put any negative connotation to it. If you love doing it, do it. I'm a woman, a manager in a software company, and I love to lift (but am not even close to having the body to show for it yet). Could care less if…

I went to Catholic school grades K-12. Did sex ed, health eduction (where nutrition was taught), biology, evolution, etc. And that was quite a few years ago My kids are now going to catholic school as well, and again they have health education classes where nutrition is taught daily, sex ed classes when they get to the…

I'm the opposite. I like bluntness, and honest replies. I don't want sugar-coating. If i'm unknowingly planning to do an unhealthy or stupid program/fad, I want people to tell me straight out. I post on here because I want people's honest advice based on their experiences/knowledge.

I have a weight bench, barbell, dumb bells and a treadmill that I use on days I can't make the gym. Lots of videos on YouTube you can do.

Forgot to report - finished the last couple days. Yesterday was hard!
