  • Aw thank you ladies, I feel less alone now :-) good luck good luck!
  • Hello AnnPT77 thank you so much for your reply- really motivated me. It definitely makes sense what you say. I had a chest infection over Christmas so have not been in the pool but been walking and to the gym for shorter sessions to build up my lungs and strength again. Wow, 2 years really? Gosh. That sounds a long time…
  • Don't give up! I have had some really bad weeks when I was feeling stressed or ill and either didn't eat or didn't eat good foods. When I started on MFP I was 285+ lbs and everything seemed so distant and far away. As of today I am 196 lbs which I would never have believed was possible 2 years ago. It takes time, patience…
  • Hello Melissa, I would try to look at if any foods seem to help or stop you. For me, I love pasta but unfortunately it seems to make me gain weight and/or get bloated so I don't eat it much now. I would drink lots of water, as sometimes you can eat when you are thirsty. Lots of salad can help you feel full without too many…
  • Aw thank you! You can totally lose those 3 lbs. 1 by 1! Good luck! :-)
  • Ooo good luck marm! You will be there really soon! Probably even closer by the time I'm writing this. You can do it! Good luck! Keep at it :-)
  • Aw thank you so so much for the amazing positivity and encouragement- means a lot! Everyone has their own personal journey. When mine started on MFP in 2014 I hoped to maybe lose 30 lbs, just anything to feel a bit better. I was 24 at the time but really felt so much older. I am now 26 but physically I feel years younger…
  • Aw really. Go you! Do you find yourself colder, too? Constantly feel the cold so much more, not as much insulation now!
  • Hiya. It is a bit over 2 years now. I have lost 83 lbs over that space of time (more to lose still).
  • This made me smile so much. Everytime people talk about fat people I must blush because I assume they mean me. But it would be unlikely now. Understand this so much.
  • Well done you have done so well!!! Can definitely see the difference. I am sure you will hit your goal! I know the feeeling. When I joined MFP in 2014 I was glad to just lose anything. But have now lost 6st, more than I ever thought possible and I've now actually started eating a LOT (of healthy food) to slow the weight…
  • Yes, this, so much! I am guessing you are in the US so I have gone so far from US size 22 to a 12-ish. The first sweater I bought in this size I didn't believe it fitted even once it was on. I had to ask my friend 'does this definitely fit?!'. Congrats, though you're doing amazingly well. I will hopefully have lost a…
  • I am not anywhere as close to target as you but I hit similar problems a couple of times. I would say since it is late at night, fill up on protein and salady-snacks. High protein yoghurts like the Skyr or Greek-style ones are good. As for snacks, celery, peppers, carrots. If you need some carbs, I would go for oats as…
  • Hi Paula, sorry I did not realise I never replied. Thank you for your comment! I know exactly how you feel! It's so strange, I wonder if I will ever get used to it. Still when people talk about large people I assume they must mean me and feel embarrassed!
  • Thank you so much! :-D
  • Villae81, that sounds like a great feeling!
  • Thanks for the tip capaul42. Appreciated. You are right, this is something not to be forgotten. I will keep this in mind!
  • Wow Readergirl3, 3 years of maintenance is great. I think there is a fear that if you put anything at all back on, you will go back to where you started, which is maybe true for about the first month of losing weight but by the time you have got a good way towards, or in your case, reached, your goals, probably you're the…
  • Sorry for slow reply. Jandstevens, thanks for your reply! Yes, I know the feeling! If people (rudely I might add) talk about fat people, I feel embarrassed, thinking it must apply to me but even though I am still overweight I don't look that big anymore. Hope you enjoy your spinning, sure you look great! :-D Gerfbrady, wow…
  • Wow, well done you! Huge achievement. You should be so proud. I have lost the same amount as you and know it is not easy (but I still have a long way to go) but you are proof you can get there if you put your mind to it. Thank you you're an inspiration.
  • Azdak, thanks for your thoughts (and sorry for slow reply!). What you say rings very true. I am already having a hard time adjusting to what I see in the mirror because for so long I saw and felt like a big person, and now although far from skinny, I don't feel look nearly so big now but I sort of can't quite believe it's…
  • eringurl33, yes I have found similar! The only time I haven't is if I have done lots of walking (like 8 miles+) then it seems I can eat all the bread I like. If only had the time or energy! Thanks and good luck to you too! :-) Springfield1970 yes I will try to! Logical! :-D
  • Thanks for all your thoughts! I think it will be a while still before I am at a healthy BMI but before I simply didn't think it would be possible to ever be even close to healthy. Everything seemed so difficult and impossible. But now it seems like it could be possible! Katem999, I think I know what you mean! I guess when…
  • Thanks for all the answers, much appreciated. I am less worried now. I think I was deydrated and also having too much salt, as the last couple of days I drank a lot more water and now starting to feel better. I work mainly nights which does play havoc with the body clock and the body in general. Also working nights I…
  • Thanks for the tip. I think it might be water retention, as I have had quite a lot of sodium this week.
  • Thank you giraffe_draft and treehopper...means a lot! Gained 4lbs back this week, oh dear.... better up the swimming/walking and throw away the biscuits!
  • Hello! Just re-read this almost a year later. Such kind and motivating words! I have kept going (with a few bumps in the road) and now lost 64lbs. Hopefully, it will be 70lbs by March! Hope you are all on track with your goals. Thanks again for the encouragement! :-D
  • Walking is definitely a great place to start. I would recommend some good quality (don't have to be expensive) trainers or walking boots if you're walking in the countryside. You can challenge yourself by walking on hills (even on a treadmill you can do this), walking further and faster as you get stronger and healthier.…
