  • oh and portion control was HUGE for me!!!! Definitely invest in a food scale.
  • drinking 100 ounces upwards of 1 gallon of water per day staying within 2500 mg of sodium or less each day - this was probably the biggest thing that has helped me so far, the weight started falling off when I really started paying attention to my sodium not eating out but once a week or less, I am now only eating out…
  • I have also heard it only works for less than 24 hours. I would not recommend it.
  • Even though it doesn't seem like a shoe thing it very well could be. Like others posted I would suggest seeing your primary care physician or going to see a foot specialist.
  • you can really tell in your chin area!!!
  • I typically drink about 100 ounce of water a day. If you are having trouble with getting the recommended amount in each day. Get a large water bottle that has the ounces listed on the side. And tell yourself that you have to drink 8 ounces of water every hour. I have a britta reusable water bottle that has ounces listed on…
  • LOVE THIS!!! When I commented on your post on the forums I actually looked back at photos that were taken last Christmas. They were taken right before I started my journey January 1, 2013. I can already say that its much improved but any more weight loss will be my cherry on top of my sundae lol I am super excited about…
  • its always great to have a plan!
  • look up lower calorie alcohol options. Like jack and diet coke only has about 100 calories or so. A glass of wine has about 200 or under. Or instead of getting completely trashed maybe just sip on 1 or 2 drinks the whole evening. Dieting in the college cafeteria can be difficult. I think you probably would just need to…
  • Main thing my parents always enforced was the notion of cleaning your plate. Needless to say that made me develop portion control problems that I am working through now. Also, we used to eat out a lot and when my mother cooked it was boxed processed crap!
  • Congrats on the NSV's!!! I second the MFP pant swap. I am in the exact same problem with my rings and my pants. Unfortunately I have dropped so many pant sizes going from a size 20 in pants to presently a size 10. So I have been forced to by mid journey pants. OH well I love to shop lol and then I give all my clothes to my…
  • That is a HUGE accomplishment and you SHOULD be very proud of yourself!!!!
  • lol I was so thinking about posting this exact same topic!!!!! I am making tacos with lean ground beef, homemade pinto beans, and pico de gallo
  • I have noticed this too. My cart is now 75% full of healthy food including fresh fruits, veggies, and lean meats. The other 25% is junk that the husband likes!
  • The advice of getting an MFP account is great. That way she can see how many calories are in that junk if she does eat some and then can plan the rest of her day around it. I actually kept my weight loss from my family for the first couple of months because they can be really critical and if I wanted to eat a cookie I did…
  • If you gym offers classes maybe try taking one of those. My gym has tons of classes that I take when I find myself getting bored with the same routine.
  • I would like to loose an additional 17 pounds by the end of the year and that would put me at a total weight loss for the year at 60 pounds!
  • I have recently taken a psychology class in college and we talked about obsessive compulsive disorder and obsessions/compulsions. If constantly checking on health stuff and it is interfering with your life. Like you get anxious about not checking or have to constantly check and have no self control then yes it is an…
  • Would love info on this as well!!!
  • On the days that you do your early morning skating I would increase your calories to at least 1500 calories. You also have to take consideration that on these days you will be burning more calories just from the activities that you are doing. Especially since your body is telling you that its hungry I would feed it. I…
  • I am just kinda snacking for lunch today as I was running late this morning and did not have time to make a proper lunch. But I am eating 2 oz low sodium lunch meat, baby carrots and creamy parmesan dressing, and I snuck in a snack size bag of kettle cooked potato chips
  • Thanks so much for all the advice and knowledge. I tend to only eat pretty lean cuts of meat so I think I will most likely just continue weighing the meat after it has cooked as it doesn't seem like there would be a huge discrepancy. I guess I am already at a calorie deficit a few extra calories from the cooked meat should…
  • 225 pounds and 5 ft tall I have now lost about 40 pounds weighing in at 185!!!
  • I personally do not do a cheat day because then the one cheat day turns into 2 cheat days which then turns into a week +. I try to allow myself "cheats" throughout my daily eating. With me I am really focusing on portion control as this as been a very bad problem with me.
  • I know for me I get really cold after eating in particular. I talked to my stomach doctor and he stated that it was because your body is focusing the energy to digesting your food and not on keeping you warm.
  • These all sound so yummy and I have been in desperate need to single serve. I have been in the mood to do enjoy some baked treats but I have absolutely no self control. Thanks again, I will definitely be trying these out.
  • fantastic job lady!!!!
  • try adding more calorie dense foods to your diet. Some include cheese (about 100 calories per ounce), avocado, peanut butter, nuts of any kind, greek yogurt, quinoa instead of rice (quinoa has more calories and more protein), full fat salad dressing not light or fat free. Maybe add in a snack or 2 through out the day. With…
  • Oh NO!!! I have had 5 foot surgeries and needing to schedule my 6th one. From personal experience listen to everything that your doctor is telling you to do and not to do. And rest that ankle as much as possible. Foot/ankle surgeries take a long time to heal. Don't push yourself you wouldn't want to reinjure yourself. I…
  • if you are on pinterest look up recipes for naturally flavored water. They are really simple and all natural. I have seen people put cucumber slices in water. You can do citrus like orange, lemon, or lime. You can even do strawberries. Lots of natural things that you can add to your water without turning to processed crap.
