I have found that when I hit my macros, even if I am just at my calorie goal, the weight keeps coming off. If my carbs are a bit high, then it's slower to come off. Also, my inches change faster when I hit the macros right.

I can only say that not only does breastfeeding make me ravishing lynneurso@townisp.com hungry, it's all carb/sugars I crave. My 3 month old started sleeping 11 hours through the night last week and my supply plummeted. I had to supplement him with some formula already so I decided to wean. Now I'm here ready to get on…

Wishing you well on your journey! I'm 42, just had my second baby. I gained a lot after first, then had miscarriages. It forced me to focus on better eating, and more fitness. I lost over 30 lbs and had baby#2 3 months ago. You can do this and the reward is so amazing!

Good luck and a speedy recovery @missiontofitness Anyone have any good PT ideas for ankles? I broke and severely sprained my ankle Oct. 30th. I am no longer under the care of the doctor. He brushed off the idea of physical therapy, and I've been trying to stretch and work the ankle, but not sure if I'm doing the best…

Hunger is just a state of mind. It won't kill you. It doesn't get worse either. Its okay to be a hungry once in a while. Most of us gained weight because as soon as we feel a hunger pang, we make a mad dash for food. That's an evolutionary necessity, but not in our modern age. Start training your body to ignore those first…

Yes. Log them as circuit training.

Thank you! I almost finished the book last night, but I'll look at the documentary too! I actually wasn't even hungry this morning so I had a very fast friendly breakfast and organized a dinner for tonight. So going to extend it into today so My husband thinks he might do this too.

Thanks all. My technique is really good. I had someone come up to me at the gym the other day and comment on it. What I'm going for is cardio right now. I was running, but I was jogging a horse down trail a couple weeks ago and hyperextended it when my leg slid out on some loose rock. The rower doesn't aggravate it at all,…

I got it too. I'm just resting, drinking tons of water. Eating healthy foods with lots of vitamins, plenty of protein and watching the calories very strictly since I don't have the energy to workout. It will happen - you'll get sick, have times when your ability to live this lifestyle is a challenge. Take it as a training…

@AmyRhubarb Thank you! What a fantastic link!

The perfect time to quit smoking was yesterday, or the day, weeks, years before. It was also the best time to lose weight. Its hard. Itsdamn hard. Giving yourself an "out" for diet or exsrcise because its not the right time is an excuse. YYou're in the mess, start digging out by all means necessary. You can do it.

I've been following this thread and call me thoroughly confused. So, I had a suspicion that I am "Very Active" not just "Active". My weight lost has been very close to .5lb a day for the past 29 days. I'm not feeling hungry, but I do want to be sure I'm not setting myself up for future issues. (I've known someone who had…

Please look up the Diabetes DTour Diet from Prevention magazine. It is what I started with one montb ago. Very laid out to get control of blood sugar, limit spikes and and its a lifestyle you can do for a long time. The weight loss to start with is dramatic. It is backed by tons of research and its so laid out for you.…

Feel free to friend me. I'm doing about 1200 calories and can't believe I'm not hungry and I'm losing about a half a pound a day.

Oh my.... Iced Grande Decaf NonFat Mocha no whip from Starbucks.... I could take it by IV. But, alas it pushed me into pre-diabetes so its off the menu. Splenda is nasty tasting stuff so..... the "skinny" version that isn't even sugar free is a no go. Splenda still screws up insulin too. Still haven't found a work around…

This may sound odd, but it would be a possiblity - and free no doubt if you don't have good public healthcare. Look up a local large animal clinic. They will have very high capacity scales. The people I know who are veterinarians would be awesome and supportive of helping a person out starting a big journey to get healthy.…

How do you all set up your Fitbit and MFP synchronizing when using TDEE vs MFP calculations? I don't know where I should log my exercise - FitBit or MFP? I know they synch, but is there an advantage or accuracy factor with one over the other? Should I set MFP to "sedentary" and then log ALL activities from my day job along…

I give up on my ticker. I'm lame and can't remember my PIN or it just won't take it even though I think its the same one. I'm at 10 miles of 30 now. Got to get my feet moving. LOL

I use the hiking option and list his weight with the Kelty. Yeah for wearing our kiddos. They like squat lift thrusts too LOL.

Reviving this thread because I'm also in Sac region and searched to see if there was a local group on here. Feel free to add me as a friend. How is everyone doing on their goals? Lets cheer each other on.

I was a physics teacher.

Hmm.. thanks for the perspective. I was trying very hard to not overwhelm her. LOL I have some very distinct limitations/workarounds. I was not expecting her to be just like the other trainer so much as letting her know what I'd done in the past so she could target her ideas. But, fair enough. I can see how that might…

Thanks everyone. Glad I asked. Sounds like its not what I'm looking for. Money saved!

Hi there, I'm new on MFP and found this thread. Hoping to get to know some folks for general support and encouragement. I'm just going to sit myself down over here 'round the campfire and listen in. :-)

I hit the gym really early this morning and it felt great! I had to head straight out to the barn and ride two horses, clean stalls and give a few lessons..... I CRASHED when I got home. Definitely going to need to figure out a better food intake that is still low-glycemic index, plenty of energy and will lead to weight…

I got advice years ago from Scott Jurek, multiple winner of the Western States 100. He says not to sustain a running pace that is more than what you can do breathing through your nose. Nose breathing makes you pull the breath deeper through your core - which means the diaphram is doing the work, rather than gasping which…

You can check out my diary. I just made these jennie-o turkey sausage and egg white burritos. My 2 year old even gobbled it down. Egg whites scrambled with bell peppers, spinach and cilantro. Warmed multi-grain tortilla Microwaved sausage link Lay out the tortilla, sprinkle with low-fat mexican cheese blend, lay down the…

Did my first run yesterday. I haven't "run" in a LONG time. I was shocked that I did 2 miles with moderate ease and could have gone further. Felt so good to do a run again. :-) Hope this ticker works.

Thanks everyone. I figured it wouldn't be counted, but it is intense. 45 minutes per horse and not easy to talk while doing. Interesting though about no starvation mode. Everything I knew before said that if you go hungry as in headaches (which I do get sometimes these past few days) that the body does start storing fat…
