I totally agree -- the lungs and the breathing is the hard part. So I began by "wogging" -- walk/jogging. One minute walk, one minute run. Then increasing it to 2 min run/1walk, 3 run/1 walk etc. Every day, push yourself to jog just a little bit farther. Until recently, I walked up all the big hills on my route. I just…

Yes, I too weigh every day and record weekly, on Fridays.

I'm right there with you, lady. Stuck one pound from my goal for 2 weeks straight. And I completely agree that, while the tricks are funny (Hubba Bubba spit a pound a way?!?!?) , it's going to feel that much better when it's a solid goal, legitimately, authentically reached. So let's just redouble our efforts and do this…

5'10" currently 170. Down from 188 in late January. 1200 calories/day (never feels like enough.....days I don't exercise are really hard and therefore rare) 30-Day Shred or Run every day (so I can eat more!) Eat back nearly all of my exercise calories each day. The Method...I'm going to copy you! We're about the same size…

Right there with you. But I've found that, as my plateau continues, I've relaxed about my eating more; I've lost the vigilance I had for the first 19 pounds. For example, I realized today that I'd been licking the jelly off the knife when I make my kids' pb&J sandwiches -- something I never did at the beginning of this.…

Love it. Have been doing it off/on for almost 3 months (with a break due to a hip injury on an elliptical). Have lost 19 pounds and so many inches that I'm kicking myself for not tape measuring when I started MFP. Am at a plateau right now, but am back at the Shred daily and am seeing new definition in my waist and…

General consensus here is to put it under 20 minutes of Circuit Training. I'm 5'10, 170 and I burn 221 calories. Everyone says heart rate monitor is more accurate, but I don't have one.

I've found that I think a lot LESS if I step on the scale daily. It's just something I do. When I tried to weigh myself just once a week, I thought about it all the time. I record my weight on Fridays generally.

Cut into chunks, broil it on 2 sides, then either a vinagrette or Rooster sauce (sriracha). Not the prettiest thing in the world -- a very brown dish unless you add parsley for color -- but meaty and tasty and filling and basically zero calories. Or, just throw a whole eggplant on the grill -- skin and all, don't touch it…

I'm a huge fan....of Matt and Suzy's....and YOURS and all you've accomplished! Thanks for sharing the pix.

Yes, I lost inches!!! I did 10 days each level. Tightened everything up really fast. I also jogged. But then I got an injury on an elliptical and had to take 2 weeks off from everything. I'm now back on The Shred, but this time am doing a different level each day, just to mix it up. And it's HARD getting back in the saddle…

So far, "all of the above" of what you 2 ladies have said!

I, for one, found your post fascinating. Thank you for opening up your food-life to us. And bravo to you for making these good, healthy changes. From what I know -- no expert by any means, but I've been on here since January every day -- you've got a loooong way to go to having too much water, so there's no need to worry…

Thanks for the tip of putting a hand weight on the scale! I just did it, and discovered our scale is 1 pound heavy, with both 6 and 12 pounds of weight. Now, in the grand scheme of things, this does not matter one tiny bit. But how nice to be able, now, to subtract a pound every morning when I weigh in! And, by this…

Hey ladies, You can do this! I'm 1/2 of a pound away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I've been here since January and am diligent about logging every bite, even when I'm horrified at what I ate. I had a hip injury from an elliptical machine for about 3 weeks recently, and those times when I couldn't exercise A LOT were the…

Love my Omron Walking Style pedometer. Santa brought it, so I don't know where it came from. I've never had a problem with it being accidentally reset during the day. Not once. But what's awesome about it is that it stores all info for 7 days -- #steps, #steps aerobic, mileage, calories burned. Great to compare and to push…

I'm still working off my "cheat" day on Saturday -- a bridal shower with champagne and wine and cake, and I gained 1.5 pounds -- and the sluggish feeling was horrible. And I'm fighting to get back to my weight of just the day before. And it pisses me off! So I'm right there with you -- cheat days are not worth it!
-
Yup, I log it in -- as instructed by others here when I started -- as 20 minutes of Circuit Training. I'm 5'10, 170 and MFP gives me 221 calories burned. That feels about right to me.

I take a whole wheat tortilla, warm it, fill it with 4 oz chicken or tilapia or shrimp, add salsa, jalapenos, lots of lettuce/salad and 1/4 c shredded cheddar cheese. Filling and fun to eat. (Meanwhile, my husband and kids are eating quesidillas, but I don't feel all that deprived.)

Wow! Go you! Amazing stats. I'm in awe....
-
I'd like to join! I've made it through Level 3, about 5 days of it, but then injured my hip on an elliptical machine pretty badly and have been out of commission for 3 weeks now. The weight loss has continued but sloooooooooooooooooooooooowed down dramatically. My hip's a bit better now -- I'm taking my second 3-mile jog…

Hard boiled egg whites. My new best friends.

You're already so tiny....8 pounds is a lot to ask from your little frame, lady. And why the rush?
-
Thanks for this quote. Makes me think that "just one glass" I've been treating myself to (and logging in) the past 2 nights is just not worth it.
-
Yes, MFP is "slightly addicting" but, I think, in a good way!
-
Great question....I'm curious to see the responses. I, too, am close to the original goal I set when I joined MFP -- to lose my cancer and baby weight and get back to my wedding weight. I'm 2 pounds away, which is awesome. But I think I can go lower, but the question is, how much lower is really feasible and live-with-able?
-
I go by 4 ounces is the size of a deck of cards. Oh, and I'm right there with you about becoming obsessed with the meat scale....!
-
Go you!!!! Celebrate this enormous goal!

How about a huge salad at lunch, with egg whites and veggies and a slice of whole wheat bread? It'll be less than 300 calories, take a long time to eat, and keep that belly busy digesting for a good long time. I don't need to snack during the day when I fill up on veggies midday. (I used to have one slice of bread with…

Wow! Bravo! 30 pounds in 3 months. Great dedication. Hope you're giving yourself a big pat on the back!
