My body held onto 10 pounds while nursing, then dropped off as soon as I stopped. I LOVED nursing, kept going thru a second pregnancy even. It will come off, don't worry!

Don't judge, lady. Today is a new day, and you're on a new path! Welcome back. I just returned, after 9 months away (gained 7 pounds during that time, fyi).

I'm in. Back at it after a year away (and it was great the first time, when I had 20 pounds to lose). I live on the coast in Massachusetts, and though it's grey and mud-seasony here, bathing suits are just around the corner. Hence the return to the Shred for toning and about 5+ pounds. Today was day 2. Oh man, I forgot how…

don't drink any wine. (that was my big mistake. even 3 ounces made a difference to my weightloss -- it stopped it completely!) change your exercise routine -- try something new eat more. have one day a week where you stop paying really careful attention. be disciplined on other days, but eat a random # of calories -- some…

sweet idea. Generally, when you're young -- I was 41 when I had 18 rounds of chemo for breast cancer -- chemo kicks your *kitten*, nausea-wise. You're too sick to read, too sick to watch an entire movie, too sick sometimes to pick your head up off the pillow. All you want to do is settle your stomach, and all that helped…

It's crazy, illogical....and great news! Thanks for sharing

So appreciate your journey. Thank you for taking the time to review it and share it with us.

I haven't taken the plunge on buying a scale, so I just use the old trick of visualizing a deck of playing cards. That's 4 ounces. And I use my measuring cups and spoons all the time.

One more thing: I remember now why it was so annoying: The customized meal plans were so involved, complicated and unrealistic! When I went to cancel my credit card with an actual human being, that's the feedback I gave them. There's no way I could stick with the suggestions, and Ialready cook dinner every single day. It…

Before finding MFP, I did the "free trial" on Jillian Michaels' site, and found it annoying after 4 days. I still get the newsletter and it is not informative at all. I agree -- I think it's all here on MFP -- community support, great functionality with food and exercise that's easy to input, all questions answered by a…

LOVE my Omron Walking Style from Amazon (Santa brought it). I've been wearing it daily since February and love it. Mine saves 7 days of history forsteps, aerobic steps, miles, and calories burned. I log only my "aerobic" steps -- not by steps but by mileage and calories burned. Am very curious about how others use their…

5 weeks, stuck at 170. I hit the plateau after Easter (I'd given up wine for Lent), when I started drinking a small glass of wine everyday. Then I had a MFP friend look at my food diary, she said the wine was the problem. I gave up wine for a week, the plateau ended and I hit my goal weight of 168.5. I just couldn't…

You are totally inspiring, as ever. Thank you for sharing your journey, and this thrilling news!

Welcome! You can do this. It'll feel great. Just go for a walk today...it all begins with that first step, and you've already taken it. Go you!

5' 10", 168.5, which I reached -- ta da! -- today! I'm going to see what life's like here for a while and then decide if I want to reasses.

I'm set to eat 1200 calories a day, but it's simply not enough for me. I get mean by the end of the day! So I exercise a lot, so I can eat more! (Around 1700 calories/day) But I make sure at least one of my meals is a huge huge salad -- with a little protein (egg whites, chicken, fish). Tons of veggies and balsamic vinegar…

And, if you're our walking on the roads or on the track at approximately the same time of day, every day, you'll gradually get to know others who share your route and over time make friends who you can perhaps walk with or exercise with. As Woody Allen said, 90% of life is showing up!

Happy news! My "happy weight" is only 1.5 pounds away! It's funny, and interesting -- the same weight as in my 20s and 30s, single girl in NYC, running around a lot, doing lots of yoga and spinning and didn't think about eating at all, just exercised consistently. Thrilled that I'm nearly there, at age 43, cancer survivor,…

have you tried your local library? Mine had it...

Agreed. 30 Day Shred shows results really fast. you'll lose inches and tone up in time for your dominican holiday if you do it daily for sure. and it's only 22 minutes!

Made me smile, thinking of you weighing yourself 8 times this morning and all that pleasure and pride you must have felt!

Tracy: I felt exactly the same way; I always easily had 100 calories to devote to wine each day, with calories to spare. But it was true, believe you me. Here's how my wise MFP friend The Method explained the wine problem to me: "Research shows that when the body has it's choice between burning carbs, fats, proteins, or…

I log it as 20 minutes of circuit training. I'm 5'10", 170 and it's 221 calories. Love it!
