Cancer AND Baby Weight...Gone!
Tomorrow is the first anniversary of my final round (of 18!) of chemotherapy for breast cancer. Not only am I now alive and healthy, but I'm also fit and -- dare I say? -- thin. I wore a strapless dress to a wedding this weekend to proudly display my healthy head of hair, peeking-out collar bones, and toned arms. (Sorry,…

What 3.5 ounces of wine can do
I gave up wine for Lent, and the weight kept sliding off. When Lent was over, I drank a small glass while making dinner. Sometimes another small glass with dinner, totaling 7 ounces per day. The wine didn't make a big dent in my calorie intake -- 100-200 calories at most. But I completely stopped losing weight. I've been…

Are those....collar bones I see?
Yes! Collar bones! First time in 6 years (2 kids, cancer treatment). Glad they're back. I'm going from fleshy to structural. And I love it!

Pushing a Stroller?
My hip's hurting, so I can't run or do The Shred, which bums me out. So I'm putting my kids -- big ones, ages 3 and 5, weighing together 92 pounds -- in the stroller and heading to our beach. It's a 4-mile round trip. (I've done it with the 3-year-old alone the last 2 days. great workout and a way to be calm and still for…

I served with grilled zucchini and red pepper and some whole wheat cous cous. Delicious and felt so "clean" to eat.

Prompt to Evaluate Goals after 10 lbs lost?
I just got a prompt from MFP saying, "You've lost more than 10 pounds. Do you want to reevaluate your goals?" I loved getting this prompt -- I seriously thought that my breast cancer and baby weight were permanent fixtures on my body -- but I'm 3.5 pounds away from my wedding weight (and, really, I probably don't get much…

The chocolate was in my mouth before I even knew it...
As I was doing dishes tonight, my 5-year-old came in with a half-eaten Reese's Peanut Butter heart. "You can have the rest, Mommy." Well, Mommy took one big bite before even noticing it was in my mouth. Luckily, I figured it out as the deliciousness slid down my throat, and gave the rest to my son. It was only one bite,…

Already helpful and inspiring
I heard about MFP in a magazine somewhere, and signed up about one week into a diet. I'm here to lose the last 10 pounds (of 23) that I gained while being basically bedridden last year during breast cancer treatment. I'm 3 pounds from that goal. (Most of it was fluid from the chemo and steroids, so I can't really take…
