Aldi has a great variety

I found this so amusing! My hubby is from Ireland and I have quite a few friends from the UK. Every person who has moved here to the USA has almost immediately put on 10 pounds. And then gained from there. Our food is jam packed with hidden sugars, fake sweeteners, additives and tricks to make you buy the "healthy" stuff,…

That's a tough one! There are all kinds of meat options - candian bacon, chicken/turkey sausages, ham. Serve with fresh fruit if you're eating fruit, or just some nice steamed veggies sprinkled with shredded parmesan cheese and a tomato juice or V8. There are some great ideas here for low carb menus: www.kalynskitchen.com…

WOO! Panties all in a bunch.

Artificial sweeteners are the DEVIL and so bad for you. I eat plain nonfat Chobani. Sometimes I mix in almonds and blueberries. It takes getting used to though.

That rocks! Good for you!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm! Me too! Here are some fun ideas: "Healthified" Buffalo Chicken Dip (great with cut up celery!): http://www.eatbetteramerica.com/recipes/special-occasions/healthified-buffalo-chicken-dip.aspx Buffalo chicken wraps: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/buffalo_chicken_wrap.html Boneless buffalo wings:…

Rashers are bacon! It's just a different cut/preparation than American bacon. More like a salty ham. It's SO yummm.

But I'd say a lot! And probably WAY over on fat and sodium. But, my goodness, I do love a good fry up!

You should be able to tally that up yourself in the food diary.

Cardio kickboxing is my favorite, and boxing workouts. I like the intensity and I feel really accomplished when I finish it! I'm dying to try kettlebells. But they just cancelled it at my gym. GRAH! Might sign up at the local community center for the beginner's class.

I log it the best way I can. Think about what I ate, and look for comparables online. Like a lot of those local family restaurants would copy things you find at TGI Fridays or similar. I usually over-estimate a little and just try to keep my focus. There is a good list of restaurants here, but it's not complete. It can…

That. Is. AWESOME!! You just gave me goose bumps! I'm so excited to go shopping in my "don't fit anymore" storage boxes. Congratulations!!
-
You look like a completely different person! You're a pretty girl, either way, but you look gorgeous, congratulations! There's a light in your eyes now! Great job!

I hate the TJ's Greek Yogurts. YUK! Just my opinion though. I love their selection of coffee and tea. In the frozen foods section, they have some decent Asian style quick and easy meals (Shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetarian options) for a quick and easy after work dinner. Oh, and I love their selection of Southwest…

We all get that sometimes though. "Are you sure you won't have just ONNNNNEEEEE?" Or "OH, come on, one drink won't kill you"! People think they're being funny, or encouraging you to "live a little", but they don't realize that it's making us uncomfortable.
-
at least they won't accuse you of being pregnant! HA. That's what I get every time I say "I'm not drinking". I want to say PISS OFF. It's up to you, you know? You can find a variety of solutions, just pick the one you feel will be most comfortable for you. Everything in moderation though. Life goes on, even though you're…

The treadmill sets a pace for you and you stick with it. Outside, I find it harder to pace myself and tend to get tired faster. It takes time to get used to it. (This is from when I was fit and used to actually run!). I've just started the C25K on the treadmill and feel great jogging. But I took it outside and WOOF!…

As far as I know, Sodium doesn't stop you from losing weight, but you retain water. So on the scale, it might impact your number for a few days, but you're still burning fat if you're staying in your calories. Drink water, don't worry too much about it. In my broke days, I used to make mine in a bath of the seasoning…

Doing diet chef "on and off" doens't really sound like you're sticking to any real healthy eating program either. Unfortunately, and I learned this the hard way too, you have to be consistent, committed to this, and make yourself and your health a top priority.

I had to Google Diet Chef. It's home-delivered "diet meals", right? You should still be tracking those calories/meals and keeping track of what goes in your mouth. You have to balance what you're taking in with what your putting out through exercise. If those meals are keeping you on a really restricted calorie intake,…

Awesome story! Great advice. I loved reading it. Thanks so much for sharing this. You (and your wife!) should be very proud of all you've accomplished. I, too, have recently rediscovered how much I love hiking and taking long walks by the ocean. Unfortunately, my husband is still stuck in couch/beer/tv mode, so hiking is a…

I've started trying to distract myself. 9 times out of 10 I'm snacking out of boredom or some emotional reaction to something. I try to take a walk, dive into a cleaning project, get into a really good book, magazine, etc. Keep your hands and mind busy! OR...if you really need to have something, I love to have microwave…

Ah, yes. I've done that often. In my mid-20's, while in graduate school, I ballooned up. I got frustrated and joined Weight Watchers. I religiously tracked, exercised and really dedicated myself to making it happen. I felt great, lost 75 pounds and really loved it. I kept it off for about 4-5 years! Then....I wish I had a…

I like the light ones with a TBSP of natural peanut butter and a 1/4 tsp of honey drizzled on them. YUM!

BUMP!!

Sounds like raging pms. It can be different based on different lifestyle, things you eat, changes in your diet/routine, etc. Limit your salt and caffeine, drink some herbal tea, and get a good hard workout in! Sweat that demon out. :) Hang in there.

Amazing difference! Great job!
