Perpetualy on Week 1, I did 25 mins. yesterday before the shin splint got me. The first running session, I felt great and ran for 90+ seconds (which is really Week 2) but got such a bad shin splint I could hardly walk so I cut the session short. My knee hurts today as well. Since I am not sure about my running form, I…

I especially love this ayalysis: "Fat doesn't just show up at your door one day, rent a room, and live alone quietly. Fat loves company. Fat's organizing a cocktail party where nobody ever goes home and everyone hangs out around your midsection. The more fat you open the door to, the harder it will be to stop even more fat…

I love that he is trying to educate people about "real" food. I think he needs to start with parents and not school systems. When kids go home, they usually have a plethora of foods to eat that are not healthy.

All the information is verbatim every time I see it, and it is always someone "trustworthy" who said it. My mom sent it to me last year and it came from a friend who got it from a friend of a nurse at the Mayo clinic, someone else sent it to me and they got it from a friend-of-a-friend who is a nurtitionist, and so on. I…

This "information" has been circulating around the internet for a while. Mayo Clinic supposedley said it, then Dr. Oz, etc. Cold water causes cancer? Um, no.

My ex-husband's (when we were married) ex-wife bought me an angel figurine that had a hinge at the bottom and doubled as a box. I gave it back to her next Christmas and she in turn gave it back to me, and this exchange went on for a few years and it was a running joke between us.

Good reminder. Thanks for posting this.

I have been paying attention to how I run and I do run barefoot-style. I am looking into purchasing a pair of Reebok Realflex shoes.

Bump! I have problems with shin splints when I started the C25K and have the Chi Running book on hold at my bookstore. I could run a lot more if I wasn't in pain from my shins and knee.

I was on Week 1 and will have to repeat it. I missed some days because of knee pain and getting bad shin splints. I feel bad if I can't do it every other day.

Bump for later

I have it and use a pouch that ties to my sholaces for the sensor. I like it, but I am not an official runner yet. I just started doing the C25K. I use the Nike+ system with my iPod Nano.

Too funny!!! I had 2 cases of them in my car and almost was sick driving to work from the smell!!! They were leftover from a 5K/10K race this weekend so I brought them to work to share.

I love peaches, but hate anything peach flavored. I love liverwurst, but hate liver.

My aunt, who lives in San Rafael, California, works for a computer programming company and everyone brings their dogs to work.

I hear you!!! The first 2 weeks of eathing better it was BAD all afternoon and it was hard to run and hide in my office every few minutes!! Tip: the fiber bars (any brand) that have chicory root as a main ingredient makes it worse. Search for "fiber one gas" on the internet and there is a website dedicated to the issue.…

Yummy bump!

I hear you!! My pains were in a different place each time I did the C25K. Outside thighs, inside thigs, side of foot, knee, come on legs, make up your mind!  I do love running outside and there is a nice 1-mile bike path behind the township offices where I live. It takes time for your body to get used to…

I think I am part of this group...ignore my post if I'm not  I am still on W1. had to cut 2 sessions short due to a massive shin slint in my left leg, and now my knee is hurting but not when I run, it hurts for the next few days. I did another W1D1 on Friday and it was good and I was proud of waht I did and the…

What I have learned from others here is muscle burns more calories than fat. I try to do strength training (kettlebell workout) 3-4 times per week and cardio (C25K) 2-3 times per week. Initially I thought strentgh training would be useless until I lost the layer of fat hiding my muscles, but I feel stronger since doing…

Good for you on making a great decision not to take any more time off. Don't deprive youself completely (I have pizza almost every Friday) but just make concious decisions about what you are doing. YOU are in control of yourself. Good luck!!

Wow, you look great!!!!!!

Fro the first two weeks on MFP, I just watched what I ate and lost 2 lbs. Then the enablers here motivated me to exercise

Thanks Ed!! You are a sweetie.

I eat Larabars and the one I like, Cashew Cookie, has 18 grams of sugar. The sugar in the Larabars does not really concern me, since the sugars come from dates and is not a processed sugar. My daily sugar is usually over the MFP recommendation, but it comes from fruits and some peanut butter.

Thanks everyone for the replies. The gym is like a community center gym and they have great equipment and classes, even a daycare you can drop your kids off at when you are working out (I don't have kids, only 2 cats!) Plus, their snack bar has power drinks, healthy snacks, all for only $1.00 each. Since Michigan has such…

I just bought it and love it. I have a Nano 3rd gen and bought a pouch for the sensor that ties onto my laces. The only thing I don't like is I can't listen to a podcast while the Nike+ is running, I can only listen to music.

Way to go!! Are you excited to do it again?
