  • I love iced coffe too and have gotten used to 1 c. Coffee with 1/2 c. Unsweetened Silk Almond/Coconut milk blend. It's only 35 cal/cup and makes the coffee a bit lighter than almond milk alone. I cut out the sweeteners cold turkey. I didn't want added sugar and the artificial stuff led to cravings and bowel "issues", for…
  • @Dennis4766 how soon after you started the amino acids did you lose the urge to binge?
  • One bad day doesn't "ruin" anything. Letting one bad day snowball into a bad two days + ruins so much more than my diet. Get back on plan starting with the next meal, not the next day.
  • I was never "skinny" but as a teenager in the 1980's wearing a size 12 (probably an 8 today), I would've been nicer to myself. I would've had more positive self-talk. If you love something, you want to take good care of it, one's body is no exception.
  • When I started shopping the outlets, for regular sizes, I was shocked at how much less I paid for clothes vs. shopping at Lane Bryant. I went a little crazy! Go in with a plan, OP.
  • I'm not on Contrave but attended a medical conference recently where it was discussed. The talk was given by a physician medical obesity specialist (fellowship trained) who also had a degree in nutrition. Full disclosure, he worked with a leading Bariatric surgeon (so his focus might not be to get a patient to goal weight…

  • I got a Taylor-brand at Target for $30 that does all the important stuff plus weighs up to 11 pounds. I would get one with a flat top so I can put my empty plate on top then load it up, taring before adding different foods. Make sure the surface is long enough to hold a plate AND read the display. So many scales are short…
  • I had hair loss about 6 months into my weight loss (50 pounds down at that point). If it's Telogen Effluvium, you won't lose all your hair. You'll probably be the only one who'll notice it. You only lose hair that's in certain stages of growth and since there are multiple stages of growth going on simultaneously, you don't…
  • I started shopping in "normal" stores at size 12. My favorites: Banana Republic for work slacks, J.Crew for casual tops and sheath dresses, and LOFT for casual cute capris, cardigans and T's. Oh, and don't forget jewelry! LOFT outlet has great jewelry! Have fun. I like to shop outlets since they usually have all of those…
  • I geek out over those numbers. I too suspected I had higher than average BMR and muscle mass and was glad when my suspicions were confirmed. I had the InBody assessment too and thought it was rubbish until the results were almost identical to a Bod Pod BF assessment I had done. I also had caliper BF measurements done by a…
  • At first, it was a miracle pill but about 5 weeks into treatment, I had; 1. extreme fatigue and mental fog before I took Vyvanse and after it wore off, so bad that I couldn't function well, wouldn't have considered driving. 2. While the drug was active, and killed my urges to binge, I felt agitated towards everyone. I…
  • I would like a less hardcore version of Autumn's diet plan. I'm imagining something that incorporates the containers, PLUS an extra 200-300 calories for whatever I want (Yasso Greek yogurt Popsicles, Special K brownie... ya know, processed stuff.) I like the container concept but miss my snacks.
  • I like the idea of a 21DFX alum daily check in thread within this group. I really like reading about everyone's progress and LOVE learning what other workout/routines you're using or planning on. Heck, I've bought JM's Body Revolution, Slim in 6 and 2 Les Paul sets since I've joined this group! I love the healthy mindset…
  • After reading this thread I started taking the amino acids discussed in The Diet Cure. I'm not sure if they're working but I haven't binged since starting the therapy. Thanks for sharing this resource! I've also stopped the Vyvanse since my last post. I started having some worrisome side effects and the effective period…
  • I keep reading about slow scale movement and I'm just curious about your opinions. In the past, walking was the only exercise I could do and drop consistently large numbers (2 pounds/week). ANY exercise plan involving weights, even my own body weight, really slowed my losses. It's bitter sweet. I love how strong I feel,…
  • Did Upper Fix today. I'm now using mostly 10 pound weights for this! I started with 5's and very occasional 8's. The only time I don't use 10's are those weighted cross punches. I'm so hungry on day #3 of WW.
  • I've lost track of my rounds and days. I've been doing a 21DFx workout most days for the past 6 weeks. I'm not following Amber's schedule, just doing what I feel like, balancing cardio, upper and lower body. I did Cardio Extreme today and much prefer that to the regular Fix Cardio. Fix has more high intensity moves that…
  • Wow, very inspiring!! Everyone seems to be getting great results! Satia, your hands got bigger! Lol, kidding but that's what struck me in your B&A, how much bigger and closer your hands are when you hold them on your waist. Awesome!
  • There's an active 21DFx group here on MFP. Here's the link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/103806-21-day-fixers

  • How are y'all able to do that "@rscunu" highlighted in blue? Otherwise, it's hard to see who I'm addressing comments to and they hide amongst my babble.
  • If you're hungry, look at your evening meal. Does it have enough protein to keep you full? How about fiber? You can eat a big salad for little calories, in addition to your meal, to keep hunger at bay. Consider saving enough calories/day to have an evening snack. Make sure it has protein. Drink a glass of water, sometimes…
  • R2/W1/D4 Pilates Fix done!! I needed a Pilates workout today, a bit of recovery. I prefer the Fix to the Extreme Pilates, too, dk! Using the band in X bothers my knees. The bottom line might be that I was in over my head with the Extreme but I am really enjoying the regular Fix. I was able to do the full, on-my-toes,…
  • Fixers! I'm in a funk today. I'm not following the diet, just doing the workouts and today, I feel like resting. My shoulders are sore, the scale is up, it's dreary outside....wah, wah, wah. I've got to shake off this bad mojo and soon or I'll make bad choices all day. I'm going to press play. Satia, lol, I just see a top…
  • I like Victoria's Secret's The Incredible bra.
  • I'm sorry you're struggling with this disease. It's a terrible thing and I've also had big upswings in my weight while bingeing. A lot of that is water weight. Try not to attach the number on the scale with your morality or self worth. That number is just one symptom of the illness and I'd absolutely contact your provider…
  • Germany, if you're eating all your containers, I don't think you'd need a multivitamin. However, if you're not eating dairy, you may want to talk to your doc about adding a calcium/VitD supplement.
  • R2/W1/D3 Lower Fix done! Again, I'm loving these Fix workouts. I don't think I can do a workout that doesn't include a countdown clock from now on. Just when I feel like quitting I see there's 8 minutes left and keep going. Also, I said it before but cannot believe what a positive difference doing a move for a minute vs.…
  • Welcome! It helps to know you're not alone. It seems like there are a lot of environmental circumstances out of your control and that makes controlling BED tough, IME. I wonder if the Social Worker you have access to has experience with BED?
  • I have the Motorola s305s from Amazon. My first pair lasted 2 years. They don't bounce, have good sound and allow ambient noise in. I know you didn't want an over ear style but for the price, they might be worth a look. The Maze pair is carried by Amazon and at least one reviewer claims the neck band bounces while running.
  • What an awesome topic!! Thanks for reviving it! I'm still doing battle with BED but am markedly better than 3-4 years ago. I was a serious binger for at least 20 years, daily binging or restricting, don't recall a "normal" relationship with food. What helped me: Psychotherapy, 2 years worth. Helped me realize I went from…
