Exercise is only 20% of weight loss, the other 80% is in the kitchen. I have a crippling back injury and managed to lose 70lbs in 6 months just by eating well so don't sweat the knee injury.

Amazing! So pretty too! :D

people "bump" a thread when it's about to fall off the front page but they haven't had a suitable reply they are satisfied with yet.

Would if I had one :'(

Yeah I asked her why she wasn't using MFP and she said "this way is quicker". That is a giant red flag right there. It's taken you years of bad behaviour to get yourself in this position so you aren't going to fix it all by starving yourself for three months.
-
My mum has got back on her diet this week but she won't do MFP, she's doing Lighter Life where you virtually starve yourself on milkshakes that cost an arm and a leg. I'm not going to put her off it since she needs to lose a lot of weight but it's daft she'd do that when she could just eat healthy portions of normal food.
-
Sigh.
-
Haha, "Lemonade Detox", better copyright that quickly!
-
I think a lot of you are misreading what I'm saying. Obviously MFP isn't a secret, what I'm talking about is that is actually works and people aren't using it, instead spending a fortune on fad diets.
-
I got introduced to MFP by girls at work, but they are the same ones who are keep going on the 5:2 diet or buying crazy chinese pills off the internet rather than actually putting more than 3 days at a time into MFP!

Wear a fitbit chargeHR and tell it to log the workout at start and end.

I am uncrushable because I didn't let depression, a crippling back injury, my binge eating disorder or morbid obesity get in my way of happiness.
-
@kcf2424 I've done solely cardio to lose my weight but that's because I'm not capable of doing strength training due to my back. But like @Karen_libert said, do what you enjoy. Exercise is supposedly only 20% of losing weight so the majority of it is what you do in the kitchen. But I wish I could've done heavy lifting!
-
Great going, they say it takes 21 days to form/break a habit so fingers crossed for you :)
-
Must've posted this picture half a dozen times lately haha: You're all doing incredible by the way :)
-
31 days/1 month clean as of today, very happy with myself :) I think I've won.
-
Aww thanks!

I started drinking tea recently after a throat infection but I can only usually have it sweet (2 sugars) but I've replaced that with 3 canderel sweeteners and it's the same.

Thanks man, I'm 6'1''. It was the same with me, I never thought I could be anything other than "the fat guy" but after seeing someone put up a post about how he went from being this obese slob to this really good looking dude it gave me hope I could do the same :)

I have an extremely sedentary job and my car is parked outside my home and office so any steps I do I have to go out of my way for but I tend to average around 8k a day.

Love these threads :) I've been here just short of a year now, I hit my original goal weight after 200 days but slipped up and have been working my way back to it but here's mine. Left: April 2014 - 264lbs Right: March 2015 - 199lbs I've been struggling during this whole time with a chronic back pain injury which makes…

16 day short of being here a year :)

@catherinemarlton If It Fits Your Macros, basically you can eat whatever you like as long as it fits in your calorie/fat/protein goals etc.

OP, I suffer from Binge Eating Disorder too and the only way to beat it is cold turkey I'm afraid. As for the weight, go for a walk as much as you can (don't run if you're too overweight, it'll damage your joints like it did for mine) and the weight will slowly melt away. At the risk of making this about me, here's the…

I lack the confidence from years of being an obese depressed shut in and having to slowly catch up with my peers.
-
I had mine set to 2lbs/week but due to my size I think I lost on average 3.3lbs/week over the first 5 months.
-
Couldn't live without mine. Best decision I ever made was to upgrade my Flex to the Charge HR, gives so much better calorie readings when I'm doing stuff like Fencing. Just gets me doing extra walk all the times as I can immediately see the benefit on my phone :)

Amazing!

Thanks @godswill206 :) It was all of a sudden, I went over to buy a cheesecake from my usual supermarket but they were all out of the ones I was addicted to so had to buy a frozen one. I left it to defrost in the fridge while I went out that night and ate it at 2am (in my shame) and felt like death warmed over afterwards.…
