Binge Eating Disorder
Hey everyone, During 2014 I was really successful on MFP, lost 75lbs (from 264lbs in April) no problem as I had absolutely cut out all sweet things (cake/chocolate bars/fizzy drinks etc) and had no cravings for them. Since christmas, when everyone brought in chocolate virtually every day, I've been struggling with my binge…

To New People
I see a lot of big declarations about what you are going to do but I will leave you these simple words from Walt Disney: I don't want to burst anyone's bubble but just get on with it and don't make a huge statement that will hang over you as you diet. I don't like to see anyone fail so don't set yourself up to

Anyone feel like you're in on a big secret with MFP?
It's like, there's this multi-million dollar industry around diets and weight loss pills etc catering to people who want quick solutions to life-long habits but here we are on MFP where it just works. I feel like I'm in on a big secret that the rest of the world doesn't know about, otherwise why would they go on all these…

Beaten the Binge
Hi all, I suffer from Binge Eating Disorder and after going 9 months on my diet without an incident, all of the chocolate over christmas broke my resolve and set me on a month long decent into countless chocolate bars and six-portion cheescakes which results in me putting on 17lbs over January and the first half of…

Charge HR release date
Anyone have any idea when this is going to be released? I know they did a limit run of them in the US recently. I presume they are going to knock them all out January 1st for the Resolutions people lol

Finally healthy!
Hey everyone! As of today, I have finally slipped in to the "Healthy" BMI category with a BMI of 24.9! I started off in April 2014 weighing 264lbs and being classified as "Seriously Obese" and now, after a few months of my weight yo-yoing, I have finally gotten down to 189lbs :) Here's the comparison shot from my profile…

Oat cookie ingredients?
Hey everyone, I saw this great simple recipe for oat/chocolate chip chookies on MFP but the problem is I absolutely hate the taste of bananas. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can substitute the banana for that will bind the oats together into the cookie?…

-TMI ALERT- Excruciating BMs
Thought I'd put an alert on this to stop people reading this thread that wouldn't want to see it. Basically my bowel movements have been horrendously painful lately, as if I'm passing a baseball covered in razor blades, which as you can imagine isn't too pleasant. I've read about fissures etc since there is a small amount…

Initial 70lb goal hit in 199 days!
Good afternoon everyone! I hit my initial 5 stone (70lb) goal recently and have finally made the time to post in this forum, something I've been looking forward to doing since I started my diet on 31st March of this year! When I started, I was 18st 12lbs (264lbs) and suffering from depression, which does not go well with…

Strength exercises with L5 slipped disc
Good morning all, I have asked this before, but long before a proper diagnosis and physiotherapy so I'm going to start it anew, hoping someone will have a good answer for me :) Basically I have a slipped disc on my L5 part of my spine from a weightlifting accident last year and have been attending physiotherapy to combat…

What should be my goal weight?
Hi everyone, I'm a 6'1'' male with a large frame. I started at 18'12'' (264lbs) in April and I am current at 14'6.4'' (202.4lbs) today. I am curious as to what people think my goal weight should be? Initially I set myself to lose 5st (70lbs), but I am almost at that stage and still have a decent amount of weight still to…

Colleagues no longer recognise me from last xmas pics!
Just a quick one as I'm not quite at my target yet but last christmas a group of us made and decorated some naff christmas jumpers for each other in a secret santa sort of way. This week they were looking through the pictures from then and saw me and couldn't believe that was me only 8 months ago! Here's the comparison…

Does Creatine inhibit weight loss?
Every morning I do a rigorous dumbbell workout for my arms and chest and started taking creatine tablets to supplement this regime. Ever since then my scales have barely moved, despite eating at a deficit every day like I have been since my diet started. Is it just water weight being held within the muscles causing me to…

Still have large belly
Hi everyone, I'm 6'1'' and currently weight 15st 1lb. I was 18st 12lbs when I started my diet so I've lost 53lbs to date. My question is that I set my goal to lose 5st to get down to 13st 12lbs but I'm worried that my stomach won't go down enough by that stage. The rest of my body has all reduced nicely (face/neck/chest…

Changing goals
Hi everyone, I know there is a copypasta floating around telling you what your weekly lb loss rate should be on your goals but I was hoping for a specific answer from you lot on mine. As it stands I have lost 50lbs/70lbs on the 2lb/a week rate. This currently gives me 1,500kcals a day. I had a look at changing that to…

Toxic Friend
My best friend is heavily depressed and has been for years but absolutely refuses to do anything about it as "he doesn't like doctors". This even extends to not going to get a toe infection sorted because he'd have to talk to a doctor about it and he's probably the most stubborn person you'd ever meet. The problem is he's…

[Rant] Guilt tripping grandparents
Before I start, don't get me wrong here: I love my grandparents. It's just that through boredom I guess, they pick flaws in people and don't shut up about them to the person until they fix them or stop talking to them. Originally it was my weight, which I am making really good head-way on and I should hit my goal weight in…

Muscle gain question
Apologies if this has come up a hundred times but I'm still learning all about nutrition and exercise so I wanted to ask specifically here. Basically I am 6'1'' and 230lbs. I still have a significant belly on me as well as fat on my limbs etc. I'm doing heavy lifting where I can but my question is can I develop muscles…

Halfway there!
I'm approximately at the halfway point of my journey of losing 68lbs, still a lot of work to do but I thought I'd share a quick picture of my progress as I'm feeling quite pleased with myself (never been able to lose weight before). I'm currently 16st 7lbs aiming for 14st, I started at 18st 12lb at the end of March. The…

Digestion Question
Hey everyone, This isn't the most pleasant of conversations but I was hoping to get some answers. Basically I'm new to the whole losing weight thing in the last two months but around a month ago I found that I would rarely have a bowel movement any more when I used to have 2-3 a day. Is this because I'm burning more…

Weight training with L5 injury
Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could get some advice on what training I can do with an L5 back injury. I did it twisting my back on a weights bench last year and the physiotherapy didn't do anything to help it and any weights exercises I do seem to make it hurt more. Any ideas on any training I can do to strengthen that…
