Honestly try not to restrict yourself too much otherwise you'll find it difficult to stick to your diet, just stick within your calorie goals as a starter and try to stick within your macros and it should go a lot smoother. I know people who have done MFP for a few months, been really successful then got sucked into a "Low…

Hey man, I was in your situation at one point and I know how awful it is. Thankfully I started taking ADs a week before I started my diet and it got me in the frame of mind I needed to lose the weight whereas I was sure I was just going to kill myself last year rather than face being fat. I'd suggest giving my blog a read,…

I've been on my ADs since a week before my diet started in March and I lost 75lbs at my lowest so it isn't an inherent weight gain, just an increase in cravings. I've been struggling with those lately which resulted on my putting a stone back on but I'm fighting against them now.
-
Honestly it's always safer to go with the lower number if you're eating them back.

Ugh, I wish I could do the whole "walk around the office" for extra steps but I have an unfair reputation at work for wandering (I used to do it years ago but labels stick) so have to be careful.
-
Don't run too quickly. I was 264lb when I started my diet and probably started jogging around 245lb and have hurt my ankles quite a bit from doing that. Don't run before you can walk, everything in moderation :)

You could get a rubber/foam yoga mat perhaps? That and put a carpet gripper underneath to stop it slipping.

I remember Stephen Fry lost tons of weight by just walking and listening to audio books (which made the time fly by): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1194024/STEPHEN-FRY-How-I-lost-stones-just-months.html

You can use it to talk about yourself but it's not on to say it to others imo. "Overweight" is less hurtful I'd say.

Exactly, it takes your basal metabolism rate and applies it across the day so if you burn say 2,000kcal a day doing nothing, you'll have burned 1,000kcal by midday.
-
Single days won't kill your diet, enjoy yourself and get back on it the next day.
-
I guess it depends on your set activity level, if it's high then it'll want you to consume more protein to take advantage of that.
-
Haha, shows my lack of knowledge then! Kind of lucky I had help buying my trainers.
-
My advice is stay away from the top brands like Nike, Adidas etc as they are fashion trainers. I've been using Asics since I started and they are fantastic, just go to JD or something and try on the ones with the most cushioned heel for maximum support :)

I started at 264lbs myself in April last year and I weigh 190lb-odd now, it is possible :) I documented my progress on my MFP blog if you're interested: myfitnesspal.com/blog/lewispwest

If you don't have a lot to lose, don't set your goal at 2lb/week loss otherwise you'll have far too few calories to work with.
-
I thought the same when I started out but after a while you realise that no one actually cares about anyone other than themselves in the gym (myself included) so it's a mental thing you need to get past.
-
It only works if you stick to it. I've lost 70lbs since April doing it because I stuck to the goals that MFP gave me and went to the gym three times a week, if you do the same then you will lose weight :)
-
Exactly this. We need to have a flashing banner at the top of the forums saying "Just eat at a freaking deficit, fad diets don't work and cost a fortune"

Bump as I've got an L5 prolapse and it SUCKS

I have sundays as rest days on P90 but other than that I take unscheduled rest days when my back is playing up. I try to limit those days but there's no way I'm making it worse.
-
I lost 74lbs or so in 7 months, just stick the calorie and nutrient goals MFP gives you and exercise three times a week, simple as :)
-
No idea!

The Protein Works Diet Whey Isolate 97 is 26g of Protein for 116 calories but is quite a bit more expensive.
-
I've been drinking diet whey protein shakes virtually the entire time I've been dieting to supplement my exercise and fill up my calories without destroying my macros and it's been very successful.

I heard that in Twilight they don't even give a description of the female lead character so that it's easier for the reader to project themselves on to her?
