This thread is very entertaining. Reminds me of the woman from Requiem for a Dream. I was young when I watched it and seriously just now realized she was probably on phentermine or something similar. Sounds like it helped some people and made some people miserable. Just be careful, everyone. We don't want you to end up…

Thank you for posting!!! :) what an amazing transformation. Love the list of NSVs too!

I supplement green smoothies, but I find that if I have more than 1 per day my hunger starts to build up quickly.

Hope you don't mind me saying.... You're so tiny and adorable! ^_^ And excellent job!

Oh hon, I know exactly what you mean :( so many regrets, wishing I had stopped gaining months or years ago. It helps to put it in perspective when I remember that at least I still have my health, and a lot of opportunity for improvement. Also, seriously the most beautiful, authentic people I've known did not have perfect…

Nice! I follow IIFYM too. It's the way to go in my opinion!

Looking good! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure it's especially difficult for a guy, because society really caters to women when it comes to eating disorders. Hopefully stories like yours will change that. :)

PS... Yeah I just re-checked my diary and realized I'm usually way over my sodium and haven't experienced any negative side effects, in fact my blood pressure is on the low side. You can also balance it out (just to be safe) by eating plenty of potassium rich foods. Don't be afraid of it unless you have to! :)

I agree. I used to cut out sodium just because I thought I had too. I ended up eating bland meals that I hated and making ZERO extra progress. There's really no reason to cut it out unless you have a medical condition. As far as bloating, I found my body adjusted to the higher levels quickly.
-
Have you considered just lowering your intensity for now? I would imagine if you work out that much and attempt to cut your workout time in, say, half, cold turkey you would struggle with that. Maybe go on hikes or strolls outside instead of higher intensity workouts. Maybe take up a sport purely for pleasure (and not…

I really don't think you should worry about your cheekbones looking bad. A healthy body weight looks so much better on everyone I've ever seen :) Here's a reverse before and after of my face (I've GAINED 90 lbs :(). Honestly one of the things I'm most looking forward to is my face looking like it used to. Oh well, 5 lbs…

Hi there :) Since I'm the poster, obviously I am not recovered and therefore may not be the best one to reply to your question, but this is my opinion: About 80% of the time planning works best for me (logging before, buying the groceries or knowing exactly where I'm going to eat out, etc). BUT... When I've made it a…

Thank you for the advice and the link, it was a good read! Thank you for taking the time to share your tips! The journal sounds like a particularly good idea. I too have noticed a trend of turning to food even more during PMS related negative feelings :/ looks like you have a good binge recovery thing going, keep up the…

OMG you are gorgeous. Pretty sure i have a full blown girl crush on you ;) Thank you for sharing your story! It's very encouraging.

Thank you so much for posting this! So many people seem to think they have to eat so little. I'm 5'8" but still struggle with eating 2,000 calories because I've yet to see anyone lose substantial weight eating that much. I'm finally experimenting with eating 2,000 calories and burning 500, after many years of attempting to…

Lose skin!?!? I see none! Especially for such a large loss. I hope I'm as fortunate as you! I have 60 lbs to lose. Thank you for posting this. I don't doubt that weight lifting is beneficial, but I HATE gyms, prefer to workout at home. Sometimes I feel like heavy lifting is "the only way", thank you for proving otherwise!…

I'm 5'8" and was 170 lbs in this pic. 165 is my current goal. I think I looked good then, I hope to get my bf to about 25% at this weight (it was probably 35% here, low protein diet and cardio only)

My mom started walking in her late 30s after her doctor tried to put her on meds for low bone density. After a year of walking her bones were above average. She got bored with walking and started running in her early 40's. She started with 5ks and has now done multiple 10ks and 2 half marathons! She loves running. A side…

Thank you so much for sharing! You look amazing!

Two things I do know: 1) moderate intensity aerobic exercise improves my asthma, and 2) I gained 80 lbs over a 3 year span (haven't lost it yet) and my asthma did gradually get worse as I gained weight. I've heard good thinks about anti-inflammatory foods/diets for asthma. Ie lots of raw, plant sourced fats as well as…

Great tips! After years of binging and just constant overeating, I'm finding myself in the "hungry even at 2000 calories" phase right now. I suspected it got better, but thank you for confirming it :) keep up the good work!
-
This is SO encouraging. Thank you, thank you THANK YOU for sharing. Congrats on your weight loss and skin progress, you deserve it.
-
You look amazing! Your face... You look like a completely different person. Congrats!

Haha, I love your analogy!

We will be the 5%. Or better yet, lets get that percentage up higher! I also read a study that showed that if a close friend gained weight, you were MUCH more likely to gain weight. I will bet you that the opposite is also true! So you guys, lets get fit, lose weight, and raise the likely hood of our friends succeeding…

I love this. Thank you!
