  • Some breads can have slightly more nutrients than other breads but I don't think it really matters too much in the long run. Bread is bread. I love sourdough and I usually eat that if I can.
  • I'll have to give those a try, they sound delicious. :drinker:
  • Welcome back! We're glad to have you here. :)
  • Veggies are always easy. They don't have a huge amount of fat and you can eat lots. Really though I wouldn't obsess too much about the fat. I usually try to focus more on if things are balanced between fat, protein, and carbs. (The nutrition pie chart).
  • That's a lot to lose in only 25 days. Congrats! I've lost 15 in a little less than 3 months so far and I don't really feel any different yet. My husband has lost about 16 in the same amount of time and he says that he thinks his clothes are starting to fit a bit better but not much difference other than that. I've had a…
  • Weightloss is non-linear. Your weight can fluctuate many times during the day so it's probably not a good idea to weigh yourself several times a day because it might make you obsessive. I like to weigh myself once a day in the morning after I use the bathroom without clothes. If your weight has been decreasing slowly…
  • I don't weigh most of my salad ingredients because the calorie count is pretty low anyway. 2 cups of lettuce is only around 20 calories. If I add cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, etc, I usually just eyeball them. If I add higher calorie ingredients (like tuna, chicken, cheese, etc) I weigh those and I measure out the salad…
  • Have you recently cut your calorie intake? Sometimes it take a couple weeks for the always hungry feeling to go away after a change like that. Have you tried eating more vegetables? Most vegetables are pretty low on calories and they tend to fill me up for a long time. Are you trying to balance your macros? I find when I…
  • You correct someone's spelling with the wrong spelling? :noway:
  • Yes. That's what the recipe function is for. I do the same thing with recipes that I make a lot. You could make them on the weekend, measuring each one, freeze them and then they are ready for just heating up to eat every morning. Again, yes. You want to try to be as accurate as possible so if you just eyeball the burgers…
  • Why no vegetables? Do you not like them? ETA: Have you tried planning your meals ahead of time and then pre-logging? Doing that makes it way easier for me to stay in my calories.
  • I don't think it matters much WHEN you eat just HOW MUCH you eat. But I also don't think there is anything wrong with labeling your meals breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner-snack, etc, if that's what you want. I would think that it's easier to see visually what you've been eating if it's broken up into different meals…
  • You can't get a proper gage of weight loss/gain from only one week. Like others said, if you don't drink enough water, have too much sodium, have your period, start exercising, etc, can affect your weight easily within the week. You have to track for several weeks and see the trend from that to determine if there are any…
  • I weigh every morning without clothes and just after I use the bathroom. I like to see the up and down trend and I have a graph app on my phone that I input the data into. It works for me and helps keep me motivated. Sometimes it's frustrating to eat really well and still have the scale go up a pound and a half in one day…
  • Red Deer! :drinker:
  • Same. I'm interested in seeing the ups and downs.
  • I usually eat an english muffin almost every morning and I'm fine so far. I think as long as you don't overdo it on bread you should be fine. Everything in moderation, right? :drinker:
  • I hear ya. Food in Canada is a lot more expensive. Whenever I go visit my parents in the states and I go to the grocery store I marvel at how cheap things are. Try to stock up when things go on sale. Plan your meals ahead of time so that you don't have too much waste. You might have to shop a little more often but that has…
  • Also donuts. They're just too sweet for me anymore. I eat one and it's like a complete sugar overload and sometimes I get a headache after. I can have a bite or maybe even a half donut if there's not too much icing but no more full donuts for me.
  • Cream. I can have just a little bit but any more than a tsp or so and it gives me a horrible stomach ache. My husband thinks I'm becoming slightly dairy intolerant but it's only been happening in the last year really. I used to be able to have double double coffees all the time and now I can pretty much only drink black or…
  • This. I usually prefer to make my own food at home because I know what's in it. But when I do eat out I usually just use the nutritional information on %restaurant-I'm-eating-at%'s website. And if there isn't one then I just try to eyeball it as best as I can and make my best guesstimate. It's a little hit-or-miss but…
  • I keep a water bottle at home and one at work. I try to refill my work bottle at least 2 times (sometimes 3) during the day and I use crystal light liquid, Dasani, Mio, or Nestle Nesfruta to make it taste better so I can drink more (I get tired of plain water). Then I try to drink at least 1 water bottle at home in the…
  • That calorie count seems way way off. You might have to double check your calculations on that one.
  • Feeling my back rolls rub together from sweat when I'm out for a walk. Having my belly hang down over my belt when I'm sitting. Not being able to wear thigh-high stockings/nylons because they don't stay up or they make my legs look like sausages spilling out over the edges. Feeling my fat jiggling around when I walk. I'm…
  • That's one of those things that you have to try for yourself and see what happens. It works for some but not for others. It's one of those trial and error type things. eta: It doesn't usually work for me personally though.
  • That seems to be a trend lately

  • Have you tried bumping your calories down another 100 a day for a month and see what happens? Or how about bumping them up 100 a day for a month to see what happens? Sometimes you have to try different things because people are different.

  • You're lucky that you don't have to then. But you probably already have a good idea of how many calories certain food items have that you eat regularly, even if you don't realize it, and that influences your food choices. I know that, for me, if I wasn't counting calories I wouldn't have lost 10 lbs so far. And I'll…
