Might want to add some good fats to your diet. I find that avocado is really satiating for me, but you could do something different like nuts or a T of nut butter. When you're losing weight, even healthy fats feel decadent.

Circuit training with HIIT! The easiest way to do this is to switch from cardio to weights. I've done a set time on the treadmill (ie run for 5 minutes) then do weights for 5-10 minutes, then do the stairmaster for 5 minutes, etc. This makes working out fun and after 30 minutes, you'll be exhausted!

YES!!! I would recommend you start by challenging yourself to run a mile (yes, just 1!) and improve on your time every week. A few weeks in, try a 5k, and then start improving your time. Then, a few months later, try a 10k, 15k, 20k, and so on. You'll find that if you start NOW running 3-4 days/week, you'll be to 13.1 in…

Yep... I used to be able to eat any dairy and now it's tough. Try almond/soy milk. Milk was the first thing that made me feel not so good, followed now by cheese and ice cream. I'm still fine with yogurt, but I'm reading that's because of the probiotics and different cultures in it (and maybe because it's consumed in…

Your honesty and details were riveting and hit home with me because I have been in the exact same situation, feeling the exact same way (except my hell was Lane Bryant). Thank you for sharing and hopefully your story will be read by someone who is in that exact same situation right now. Huge congrats on all of your success…

YES, but there are definitely things you can do to help yourself too! Try using creams/coconut oil (my favorite go-to is vitamin e cream) and be sure to lift weights (tighter muscles can help bring skin closer to the body). At the height of my weight loss, I had lost about 2/3 of my total starting weight and I had some sag…

My bf is the same way, though after dating for 5 years (and aging/having slowing metabolisms), he has gotten much better about making conscientious choices about diet. My go to at any restaurant, especially for dinner, is a broth based soup. I'm in Houston, so we have tortilla soup as an option most everywhere. Other…

Yes! I like to make stuff that freezes well and then I disperse it weekly to my brother who is a junior in college, and my parents, who aren't home enough to cook! My staples are: butternut squash soup, sweet potato enchiladas, beef/pork chili, carrot-ginger soup (I pour soups in to muffin tins, freeze them, and then pack…

I love my garmin vivofit. I know it may be more than you need since you already have a HRM but the garmin app is really great and interfaces with MFP well!
-
I would echo what everyone else is saying... just be sure you don't burn yourself out!
-
Totally appreciated! I got a random compliment today (for wearing a colorful dress on a very gloomy day) and it made me so happy :)

I really like my Garmin vivofit. It's small, accurate and the app is really user friendly! Also, yes, it does tie in with MFP both ways - so MFP data goes to the garmin app, and garmin data goes to the MFP app. It provides TONS of data too, like exact number of steps taken each hour with a handy chart, and it's easy to set…

I know tofu isn't a favorite for a lot of people, but when I was living abroad and vegetarian, the local asian shop had some amazing fresh firm tofu. My friend/roommate and I did a small dice of our portions of tofu and seared it with a pinch of oil and taco seasoning and then either loaded it in to shells or put it on top…

YIKES. Would love to know more about why this is the case. I'm going to do some research and see what I can find! What an epidemic.

I'm 30 - old I know ;-) Happy to have new friends!

I know everyone has their favorite, but I've found that the chocolate peppermint Luna bars are awesome for my chocolate cravings... I get one and divide in in 1/2 or 1/4s and have a bite at a time. DELICIOUS!

I feel ya! It can be tough to work out alone, but it can be done! And I'm glad you realized what's going on too - that's half the battle :)

Try white tea/a fruity blend - it tends to be a little sweeter!

OH man, I am a huge tea lover and if you could see the cabinets at my house and at my office, they're stuffed full. Highly recommend anything seasonal from Trader Joe's. I also love the Tazo iced or hot greens, baked cinnamon apple (add a dash of stevia and a fresh cinnamon stick while brewing and it tastes like apple…

Go see a therapist and/or psychiatrist. Sounds like you need to get in to a routine that you can stick to and make a lifestyle change. I'm not a huge fan of drugs, but there may be something underlying that can be at least temporarily helped with a prescription. I say this because I've been there - almost 400lbs in my mid…

YES - my bariatric surgeon tested my BMR and it is the lowest he's seen in a long time (I can't say I'm surprised). I did lose a substantial amount of weight by eating around 1200 6 days/week (with mexican food as my cheat meal on Sunday that pushed me over), and ran 3+ miles/day. However, at my lowest weight, I got sick…

Oh, girl, we are kindred spirits. In my adult life, I have weighed between almost 400lbs and about 18 months ago, my lowest was around 160lbs. I have to tell you that even when I weighed in the low 200s range I know I was healthier than I was at 160lbs because I was doing crazy amounts of cardio and not eating, so much so…

Are you actually interested in drinking? I would rather spend my calories on something else (a cookie) than a few drinks, so I didn't drink much at all in college and did just fine. You can always grab carbonated water with a lime, and no one will know the difference :).

On FIRE! Way to go!

Yes - you can link MFP and your garmin! It's awesome! Go in to the app on your iphone and look on the home page, I think that's where it is.

eBay! For work, I have to invest in a new wardrobe every time I lose a size or 2, so I post all of my outgrown clothes on ebay - work out clothes, suites, dress shirts, etc. It's worth a check. I know sizing is weird, but if you know how Lane Bryant (for instance) fits, you can be pretty confident in getting a size that…

Are you allergic/intolerant of any foods? I have big time issues with yeast and sugar and I find that limiting them is really helpful. 1500 cals/day of bread isn't the same as 1500 cals of veggies (in the way my body digests it). But that's just me. Also... I know you already mix up your work outs, but have you tried HIIT?…

You look great! What an inspiration!

TEX MEX. Queso, enchiladas, tortilla chips, YUM.

Carrots, celery, cucumber... I have also sliced up big tomatoes and use those. Kale chips, or romaine lettuce (just put the spread on the inside of the leaf and roll it up.
