That is terrible from your ex, but in good news, your daughter is AMAZING and I'm sure that's in no small part down to you.

Welcome to the Confessions Club! Full reading of the thread is not a requirement, but it does get you extra credit.

I hope he can get some good quality of life, that is the main aim! Hugs.

I'm still fairly mad and antsy. Combination of feeling like I'm paddling as fast as I can but never really getting anywhere. I suspect something will give soon. I'm not about to give up the kids or my day job as rubbish though it is, at least it pays. I think my handmade biz is on its final warning (I make kids'nursery…

I've been doing some tiny sewing because I'm mad and it chills me out (and stops me snacking!!).

Hugs to you Mel. No where near as woeful, but I smashed the side of my car up pretty badly today. Nobody hurt but we had just had an ok month financially for the first time in aaaaages and now I've blown that out of the water in 10 seconds flat paying out on insurance excess, let alone my premiums will go up (it was my…

Exciting!! Tell me, are you going to be the grandma who buys ALL the noisy toys? We have a couple of such darlings. I suspect it's revenge for me having been such an annoying child! 😜

It's hard Mel, but I would probably have the same stubborn mule mindset. My grandmother died from motor neurone disease which is a fairly horrendous, progressive and terminal illness (it's the condition Stephen Hawking had) but was very sound of mind and refused many life extending treatment. Tbf, she was in her late 80s…

So after all the yoga talk I had to try to see if I could get my leg behind my head! I can get my bendy leg just on top, but not over. I was pleasantly surprised. I used to be properly bendy, not from hyper mobility, just from working on it as part of my dancing so I feel dreadfully stiff these days. I'm probably still the…

Are you on holiday or visiting family? Welcome to Europe! Despite speaking French and passable Dutch (which is basically Flemish) I've never been to Belgium.
-
Good for you! If a lady wants to have a certain colour hair, then fine whatever, but I HATE the idea that women must cover their greys for the sake of it.

I really hope it isn't, or I'm never risking losing weight again!!
-
I've given up in logging for a bit. I was getting sloppy, and really what is the point of it isn't accurate. I always do this - lose half a stone, mess about for a couple of months, lose half a stone etc. So I'm not overly bothered, so long as I don't gain during my messing about phase. The slightly scary bit is once I…

It's too hot and I'm sleep deprived and starting to fall off the wagon. You'd think hot weather would put me off chocolate but apparently not! Hoping to stay the same this week at best.

Pretty much!

Apologies in advance for the racist, homophobic, chauvinistic buffoon who's just become British PM. In our defense, we didn't actually vote for him as a nation, but yeah, it's going to be a pretty embarrassing few months! There endeth the politics for now, I just feel the need to wash my hands of him early on.

Weight lose stalled this week and I remained exactly the same. Can't say I'm surprised, we've had four terrible nights of sleep in a row with barely a three hour stretch between them and mama needs chocolate when she's tired! But I'm down 8lbs in 50 days, I'll take that!

Uh oh I've just discovered Minecraft and that is right up my alley. How many hours will I waste on this? Actually not so many as the other half has discovered it too and we share computers.

@kellyjellybellyjelly I did Cedar Point a few years ago (I missed the queen's diamond jubilee for it - bad Brit!) and I can highly recommend. I am useless at remembering ride names but yes, the woodie was massive and awesome. We never did fail to crest on the tall one (millennium force??) and I also secretly wanted to go…

Hottest day of the year and I ate most of my calories as ice cream!

The BBC series was good because it touched on so many different aspects such as how throwaway consumers are, but also how we don't recycle what we create and export it to poorer countries and the supermarkets don't offer consumers an alternative must of the time anyway. It really got me thinking. I'll knit some reusable…

I'm suffering some major work / life guilt. I watched war on plastic on the BBC, and have been trying to cut down on my single use plastics anyway, but I work for a company that makes packaging machinery. I just had a meeting this morning with some of the salesmen who were complaining how the produce packaging sector is…

It's been a 'hide in your bedroom eating pb blondies as you try not to lose your mind due to the boy having a lunatic day' kinda day. Not a great food week for me in general. Such is life. I've made a yummy prawn salad for lunch at work tomorrow. Onwards and upwards.

I was back at work today and it was a perfectly nice cloudy but warm day. SIGH!
-
My week off work was a total washout, literally couldn't have picked worse weather this year! So the kids mostly went to nursery as normal, and I got a little bit of time to myself (no bad thing) and we managed a couple of indoor activities including a massive warehouse full of inflatables. I think Mr Spam enjoyed that one…

Speaking of brag/confessions I just had my first meal out with hubby without children since Ellie was born 19 months ago (last time was the day before her birth so I wasn't exactly comfy) and I had whatever the hell I fancied and it was glorious!! I checked the calories when I got home, probably just as well we only do…

Lol my life is so pedestrian. Will it ever stop raining? Will the washing machine ever be fixed? Stay tuned for next week's exciting episode of Spamarie's Very British Problems.
-
Silver lining: the boy just pooped in the potty which is a minor miracle these days, and especially welcome as our washing machine is currently in pieces across the kitchen.
-
Our staycation week didn't have the best start either. I spent Saturday morning in a&e with Ellie. Thankfully it was just a pulled elbow and they quickly clicked it back the right way and she's pretty happy now. Here's hoping it gets better from here!

I have the week off work this coming week, and since money is tight instead of going anywhere we decided to do fun day trips to all the places we never get the chance to like the seaside or the wildlife park. Except it is forecast heavy rain EVERY day. Literally any week so far this year would have been better than this…
