@quiksylver296 I've not seen the documentary, but I did cut down on meat consumption mainly for environmental concerns. I'm not a vegan, not even a vegetarian, I just cut down a bit and made a few easy switches. Baby steps.

Bring back the confessions thread!!

I didn't panic buy, I just stocked up bit by bit over weeks. Basically when we drop out of Europe without a trade deal (increasingly likely) imports will all be delayed due to extra customs checks. The vast majority of food pickers are from Eastern Europe so we'll have massive labour shortages and prices will go up. And I…

I may be the only person accidentally losing weight during lockdown. I haven't left home in over three weeks, all my groceries are delivered and as my husband is also home there's no sneaky chocolate! We still eat desserts etc but my mealtimes were never too unhealthy anyway. I should be happy, but I'm so grumpy!!!

One of my neighbours who has been going out every day in his car (no he isn't a keyworker) was escorted home by the police this week. And he was back out again yesterday. Good thing he isn't on this thread, as I'd be breaking the no judgement rule very, very much. If we get stuck in lockdown for the whole summer, I'm…

Got furloughed today, which is not bad short term as the government is paying 80% of my salary and my company is voluntarily topping up the rest. I've been very stressed trying to work from home while looking after two preschoolers. But of course I'm quite worried for my job longer term. Nothing I can do about it right…

My dad is doing ok. He is well set up for working from home and my three brothers all live within an hour's drive so are taking turns grocery shopping for my parents every couple of weeks.

And my dad started chemo this week. What impeccable timing! I know my kids and hubby and I are pretty low risk, but I worry something will happen to my dad and I won't be able to go and comfort my mum. Got pretty serious right there. Please go back to drowning peanut butter in the rubbish bin and cling film wraps! As you…

I only work 16 hours a week and can do most of my role from home just fine, but fitting that in without childcare is extremely challenging. They're 2 and 4 and can't really entertain themselves unsupervised for any time at all. I hate that I'm having to work every day and work evenings to make up my part time job, losing…

Don't talk to me about milk. Milk may be the end of me!

I was meant to be working from home today while looking after a two year old and four year old. We had a power cut from 9am-4pm so we spent the rather sunny day playing in the garden instead. I've got a lot of hours to somehow make up but I regret NOTHING!

Thankfully I've never seen it quite that crazy up north @Lois_1988 however basics are getting hard to come by. Luck of the draw when you get to the supermarket. My online shop (which I booked three weeks ago) is due tonight. I don't reckon I'm going to get everything I asked for. 😬

I hope everyone is keeping safe.

We got nappies!!

Panic buying has set in here in rural north Nottinghamshire, even though covid-19 hasn't and schools are still open. I already had a stash due to my Brexit fears so haven't been to a shop in a week, but rather dreading tomorrow as we're starting to need some fresh stuff and nappies (diapers). It's not so much finding…

Congrats on the new job @melissafeagins and remember it's only a temporary delay, you'll get there! That baby shower looks amazing @Beka3695! I've never had or even attended a baby shower. It's starting to be a thing in the UK. Lovely to make the mummy to be feel special!

It's my birthday - there is no wagon.

Went to the supermarket at 7am and that is now me DONE with any kind of shopping until next year! I am holing up at home and will only go out to visit grandmas! Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends for tomorrow! Although we don't do Thanksgiving in the UK, because several of the pilgrim founding fathers are from nearby, there are usually a few historical events on. Hopefully my little ones are old enough next year to really enjoy the 400 year celebrations, there's going to be…

@quiksylver296 I think you're great for recognising and having that conversation with your son. Unfortunately while ever society has this whole slut-shaming nonsense going on, girls are trained from a young age to play it coy or be negatively labelled. I think it's a ridiculous set up. Be up front, be thoughtful, be safe.…

I finally took both kids swimming for the first time! Can you believe I never swim any more what with small babies and constant colds and ear problems. Thankfully I still just about fit in my cozzie so hubby and I took them in the baby pool on a whim. They loved it once they realised what was happening. Definitely my kids!

Ironically I don't actually have a dollhouse! But I enjoy making miniatures and I sell one every so often so I can justify to myself making more. What can I say, I'm an enabler?!

Top tip for avoiding mindless evening snacking: make something ridiculously fiddly all evening long. I'm becoming a little obsessed with dollhouse miniature patchwork. Just sold this one which makes me super happy. I dream of being a full time miniaturist one day, but they take so long to make I don't think it's very…

I had a really lovely day yesterday. It was our tenth wedding anniversary, so I took the day off work but sent the kids to nursery. Hubby and I needed to buy Ellie's second birthday present for next month (HOW?!) and while we were there sorted Christmas and Andrew's birthday too. Call me organised! Then we had a…

It's hard when it's not your kid because it's not your place to parent someone else's kid, but they're causing you bother so what do you do?? Luckily (or not) my boy is only naughty for me apparently. He's a little angel for his grandma and school. Obviously I'm glad of that, but nobody believes me when I say he's been…

I'm guessing it's a gender reveal? Super excited for you @Beka3695 !!!

I accidentally skipped lunch because I find food at funerals weird and unpalletable. I will be making up for it with a lot of sympathy chocolate this evening. We'd lost touch but she was still a lovely person. Life isn't fair. I'll remember the good times (and comfort eat).

Been to a funeral for a school friend this morning. While that is deeply depressing (she was 33) the turn out was amazing and I caught up with some lovely people I haven't seen since I was 18. It was pretty much a huge goth reunion. She asked that we wore red lipstick at her funeral so here I am all gothed up (minimum eye…
