Same here. When I eat back part of my exercise calories, I generally manage to consume 1400. I can still manage the 1200 calories on days I don't get much exercise, usually by eating an egg, cheese, and toast for breakfast, jello and a small TV dinner or soup for lunch, a salad with meat, egg, veggies, and a vinaigrette…
-
That makes it even more of a "why?" Why would you consider deliberately consuming something your body considers an allergen? Why would you consider deliberately consuming a food you've never eaten before that you need to be "close to a bathroom" to consume?

I'll tell Bloody Mary you said that, as we both enjoyed it. ;)

Why?

Sugar-free lemon pie! :)

You look awesome. I think it's just a matter of your brain catching up to the new you and your family adjusting to your new image. When I look at my license photo I can't get over how round my face used to be, whereas now I can actually see cheekbones--but it took a little while to get used to it.

I'm at about the same place as the OP. I've lost almost 58 pounds (I only record whole pounds, so I'm still showing 57 pounds lost) and I have about 20 to go to be where I want to be. I was a miserable obese person a year ago. Very depressed, very angry, if anything went wrong in my life I had a difficult time getting out…

I read your post. I'm not going to spend the rest of my life worrying about whether things are "balanced" on a daily basis or not. If I want to eat cookie crisps (which I won't, because Type II diabetes and carbs) for breakfast, I will eat them if nothing else appeals to me and I really, really need to eat something. There…

* What a terrible, joyless life, never to eat things just because they taste good.

When I eat cereal. I like Nutty Nuggets (or their equivalent) with a half a banana or shredded wheat in one form or another, usually with warm milk. I hardly ever eat sugary cereal any longer, but when I do it's the generic version of Honeycombs. Once in a while I'll have old-fashioned oatmeal (the cooking variety) or…

The point behind MFP for many, if not most, people is to learn a new way of eating, not to "diet." Learning to eat in a new way means including potato skins or mozzarella sticks or whatever, if you want to include them in the regular foods you eat.

You would think, too, that if the person baking with Splenda adds the recipe and logs the amount being eaten, the calories would show up. That wouldn't help people in "real life," but most people in "real life" won't fuss over the calories in Splenda, even if they're counting.
-
But how many calories do you burn stirring the Splenda into your beverage? I do log my 20 ounces of coffee (5 calories) each time I make a pot but not my saccharine. I figures that covers me. :)
-
Why would you even want to do that?

Boneless, skinless chicken thighs are really good for adding protein without adding too much fat. In my opinion, they taste better than boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Adding the occasional salad or substituting polenta or rice for pasta in some meals is helpful. I use a brand that cooks to a nice consistency and has…

I hope you don't drink citrus juices or lemonade, then.

Mmmmmm . . . Jiffy Pop!

While I agree with the vast majority of your post, I think the "free" sweeteners to which the poster refers are those found in packets and served with coffee and tea. Maybe, too, the free refills, but as you said, they are figured into the cost of the beverage to begin with.
-
I agree with the idea of having beverages around to help take the edge off hunger. Not only does drinking a low-calorie beverage help you feel fuller, it is fairly common for people to mistake thirst for hunger as they begin a dietary change. You don't need to drink plain water, if you don't like plain water. I pre-measure…

*shrugs* Whatever. I should have quoted QueenBee, since I was responding to her shock over McDonald's or Taco John's being okay for the occasional snack. I didn't see that she identified herself as being vegetarian, only that she was looking for vegetarian snacks. One does not equal the other (although I admit I missed the…

I bet if you kept getting the same amount of fiber as you are now and added meat back into your diet that you'd still be regular.

I weigh myself daily, first thing after I go to the bathroom and before my first cup of coffee. I don't mind seeing the daily fluctuations; they keep me motivated.

A McDonald's cheeseburger has 290 calories, 33g carbs, 15g protein, and 680mg sodium. It's not terrific, but not bad for the occasional snack. Paired with a side salad with a half packet of their balsamic vinegar and an unsweetened ice tea, it's not a bad lunch, albeit one a tad high in sodium. Edited to add calories.

They do sound like terrific cats. I've met a couple and found them to be sweet and loving, although I loved my athletic Abyssinians more. I mean no judgment against the cats--I just think the breed originator was loony tunes. By the way, I had a great cat we named Mistoffelees. Misto would walk on a leash, a talent he…
-
Ragdolls were developed to be like that. The originator of the breed wanted a cat that was large, kind of floppy, and claimed that they were resistant to pain. Not terrific survival skills, but awesome if you want a ragdoll for a cat.

All dogs are different, just like all people are different. Dogs need exercise, but it doesn't matter if they go outside to get it or not. Some dogs do not tolerate cold well and should not be forced to go outside. Extremely small dogs have very little body mass and cannot retain heat in the cold the way a larger dog does,…

No, not really. If it works for you, that's fine, but it makes no sense to me that I wait till a special occasion for me to have ice cream. I like ice cream. As long as I have the calories and the carbs for the day, I see no point in waiting till Saint Swiven's day or some such thing.

Don't feel bad for the small dogs who are paper trained. They wouldn't appreciate the cold weather, most likely. Not all dogs need to be walked, believe it or not. Most tiny dogs do fine just being allowed to wander inside their homes. As long as they get sunlight and interaction with their people, that's all they need.
