Take it slow and work at it. I started off not being able to work out 10 minutes and running a block, now i weight 52 pounds less then i started and i run miles at a time! if i can do it, you can to!

You can't always be good. best bet is to let it go, get in a good work out in to off set the bad day and start new on Friday.. Just don't do it every day.

first week set your calorie counts not to gain any or lose any weight. Week 2, you can set it to lose weight. I couldn't work out for 6 weeks and this is what i did, and i lost like 5 pounds over that time. ( i had surgery like you)

I have to take a break this week. Hurt my knee yesterday so i can't push my to much this week. (mostly going to run inside on my elliptical i think.) :( the good news is my knee is feeling better already!

Just stay the course. i am down to my last 8 and i will lose them if i follow plan. Also, try to get a good workout on a day you know you might eat more to off set what you eat.

start with walking, timed, 20 minutes, then 30 and try to power walk a block at a time so you can pick up speed as you get more comfortable.

Thanks all. Just got my official time from the 5K from yesterday. 28:24 (my time from last 5K was 31:55) Heck Yea! So excited. Bring on the next 5K. (i am going to sign up for a 10K in October.)

Vodka(96) & Sugar Free Red Bull (10) - try flavored vodka to switch up the taste, is great, also i like favored vodka with diet orange pop or diet seven up.

You can do it! I'm 6 months in and i did and that was saying alot looking back when i started. this is by far the best healthy life style plan i have ever done.

Amazing time MelissaGraham7! I am training for a 10K as we speak. but i had pre-signed up for like 3 5K's that i have to finish before i move to the 10K.. My normal training runs are between 4.5 and 5.5 miles depending on my schedule so i will be able to do it shortly and i can't wait!

Start off slow. (i started walking/running 20 minutes at a time) and saying i will run to that stop sign. after 2 weeks i up'ed the time to 25, then 30, then 40, then 45.) and i would set longer running goals. Example, I will run this the block, the mile, and so on.

I did my first 5k a few weeks back, i did nothing the day before, but 2 days before i did my normal 45 minute work out. Just make sure you eat like you normally do and go for it! Enjoy it. you will love it!

ummm, you are the father? LOL, i wouldn't personally run, just would go get a dna test done and do the right thing, but those are scary words.

You are changing fat to muscle. if u check your measurements, i bet you would noticed you lost a inch here or there. For me, i always noticed that if i up'ed my work out, (Time wise) i had a hard time losing the first week as i was building at ton of muscle and that is a good thing. It will come.
