  • You can friend me too. I have been at this since around April. Lost 42 pounds and I had never lost weight before. MFP is a great tool, in my opinion. Lots of good encouragement here and I love reading the success stories. Very inspiring.
  • I have some chocolate raspberry tea that sometimes does the trick. You get the smell of chocolate and that can take the place of actually eating it. I also bought a bag of chocolate kisses for a quick, but low cal alternative when i just have to have real chocolate. Have to be careful not to eat more than one or two. Even…
  • I have been logging everyday since around May. I will friend request you now.
  • You can do it! Small changes and work them in to your daily routine. Good luck! Feel free to friend me too
  • Good luck to you! You will find a lot of support on this website. Changing diet is hard. Small changes work best. Log your food - that is my best recommendation.
  • 5'3" too. Lost about 34lbs since beginning of April. You can do it! Friend me if you need support.
  • Hi - I am 5"3 and 51 years old. My starting weight was 192 in April 2014. I am now at 160. My initial goal is 150, but plan on trying to get to 140 after that. My lowest weight, as an adult, was probably around 125 in my early 20's, but I think that is unrealistic for me now. It gets harder as you get older, right?
  • Congrats on your new baby! I think you will find good support here on MFP. Just take your time and the pounds will come off. Log your food and get some activity going. Happy to support you. Just friend request me.
  • Love you, Ms Dana. Gonna friend you right now! Good luck *****. I am right there with you! Stick with it. I am about four months ahead of you and nearing 30 lbs down.
  • I was wondering the same. Does strength training count as additional calories allowed? Where to do you input this to get the additional calorie allowance. Most of my strength training is fast paced "metabolic" and at a high heart rate.
  • It would be great if popcorn was measured BEFORE popping, but I can't believe that is correct. One cup of unpopped popcorn would produce a huge amount of end product. I would appreciate clarifiction on this matter. Also, had same question on chicken/meat - weigh before cooking or after?
  • Great work. You look wonderful
  • I like this answer. If you can afford it, a trainer once per week is very helpful. He/she can show you strength workouts. Have them write them down with all the details you need to repeat it. After a few months, you will have a book of workouts to choose from. You will become more proficient and can add reps, time, weight,…
  • Sounds yummy. Just one question - what is "Italian Seasoning"?
  • Go Girl! Good for you learning this at 31. Took me until 50.
  • Please add me too. MFP has me targeted for 1200 per day, but on advise of my wonderful trainer, I am going higher on workout days. Lazy, do nothing days are fine on 1200. The problem is - lazy, do nothing days - those are the days I am apt to eat more. Those are the days I am going out to dinner, at parties, etc, so I…
  • I am almost 51 years old and around 5ft 3in. Started a couple months ago at 192lbs. Have lost about 12lbs. I set my goal at 150 and will see from there what I look like and what seems do-able below that. Like other posters - post 50 is tough. I am exercising now too. 2-3 days of cardio at 30-40mins and 2-3 days of…
  • I am about to turn 51 and started with MFP about six weeks ago. I also joined a gym and I am working with a really good personal trainer once per week. I have lost about 10 pounds - logging every day. I find that at this age and weight (started at 192), I have poor balance and not a lot of strength either. I am trying to…
  • Good Luck to you. You will find a lot of support on this website. I am 50 and started my weight loss/shape up effort about six weeks ago using MFP. I have lost 11 pounds so far. It took a few weeks to see the first pounds come off. This could be because I was using a variety of different scales because I didn't have one at…
