All I can say is, yes, I agree! My spouse is generally a consious eater and, as a SAHM, makes our meals. I thought for sure I was eating well and could not understand why, with little effort aside from eating at home, I couldn't lose weight. Enter MFP. It forced me to look at every little bite I took and helped me realize…

Thanks for the correction, I'll take it into account in future postings. -c

Welcome Amy, I'm new to the site as well and look forward to the future. I sympathize somewhat, it took me years to get this out of shape, but I'm in the same situation as you and we're ready to get rid of the extra fat and weight. So good luck to you! I agree with Sam, and it's essentially what I'm doing. Start paying…

V, I'll take that into account. How do we use a chair for pull-ups? I'm interested in this. -c

Slow on the exercise is right, I started another thread basically whining about the pain and learned a new term (DOMS - Delayed Onset Muscle Something... syndrome? Ugh, forgot already). Epsom salts and hot showers are on their way. But yes, starting slow is key. Of course, I'm under enormous pressure as of my four belts,…

I'm sorry to say that I can't help you, but I'm having similar problems when I do jumping jacks. Calves start hurting within 15 seconds and don't let up. I couldn't imagine trying circuit runs. I'll be reading this topic closely. Thanks for sharing and stay injury free. -c

TheMrsCole, No gym yet, working out from home right now. And to be honest, in the town I'm in (rural south, <9k people) I couldn't imagine a sauna anywhere close. I do have a shower, could run some hot water and see if that works, assuming it's the heat that helps the muscle soreness. I'll try that to help the DOMS. My…

Thank you for the comments. I'll look to incorporate some stretching techniques into the workout and soak when needed. Embracing the burn will have to come with time :) Right now I just want it to go away! But as long as it's not lasting damage I'm doing, I'll keep on keeping on. I'll probably ease myself into the working…

Thank you. One day at a time for sure. I just imagine that every day I lose 1/7 of a lb :) And I'll take all the luck I can get! -c

Another one on the "I sweat a lot" bandwagon. Totally normal for some, me included. You're not alone on this at all. I've never felt self-conscious about it, though, and I'm almost happy when I'm sweating as it tells me I'm doing something physical. Stay hydrated, grab an extra towel if you need to, and keep at it! -c
