  • I am training for a marathon in October so this will probably be my highest mileage month ever. If training goes as planned, will hit 190 miles in September. It seems much more intimidating now that I added up all of those planned miles for each week. Yikes.
  • I wear seamless wicking underwear and could care less about pantylines at the gym. I can't go commando due to bladder issues. Whatever floats your boat.
  • I have been running for 3 years consistently. I have run 4 half-marathons and am currently training for a full marathon (18 mile run tomorrow). I have never ever felt that runner's high.
  • I always thought I was 5'4" but the doctor's office last measured my height as 5'5". I currently am 143 pounds and a size 8-10. I would like to get down to a size 6 which is probably somewhere between 125 to 130 pounds. My real goal to to lose weight so I will be able to run faster.
  • I haven't lost a toenail yet. My main problem is chafing under my right arm. Never my left, just the right. I am now wearing an armband (Bondiband) on that arm that seems to be fixing the problem. I have calluses on the outside of my big toes but the are slowly going away since I started coating them with Bodyglide prior…
  • I have a forerunner 220. My Garmin Connect links just fine to MFP. My problem is my 220 won't sync with Garmin Connect over bluetooth to my phone anymore. I have to sync it to my computer thru the USB cable.
  • I refuse to by lululemon. I haven't been happy with much of anything I have bought from Old Navy. I like Gapfit (buy on sale) and most things Nike. I like SkirtSport skirts which I find cheaper on Amazon as well as New Balance items I get off joesnewbalanceoutlet.com or 6pm.com.
  • Yes! My brother was in drum corps and it was something else. They practice a lot and are constantly moving on the field. He was definitely fit by the end of the summer. They also get seriously tan with some pretty odd tan lines as you can see from the pictures.
  • Yes, I have only been doing P90X3 about 3 times a week. I would probably benefit from doing it more often but there is the time factor and my body needs a bit of a break.
  • I have the Les Mills Pump videos. I have never done a class at the gym. I liked the videos initially but then found them to be a bit monotonous.
  • I am doing the Columbus Marathon October 19 which will be my first marathon. Hoping to come in under 5 hours without too much pain.
  • I run and have done both P90X3 and did T25. I think P90X3 is more complimentary to running as it works different muscles than running. It definitely has more weight-training/strength-training. The P90X3 yoga is great for stretching out my tight calves and thighs. I think T25 helped with my speed and endurance as it is…
  • I have never lost a toenail and there are essentially no hills where I live. I would guess though it is your shoes.
  • RICE = Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation
  • I developed arch pain in my left foot last November after running a few races on subsquently weekends pretty hard (4 miler, 10K and 5K). PR'd all 3. I had also run a half marathon in October. I did foot exercises, iced my foot and took a week off which really didn't help. I was already wearing Superfeet insoles in my…
  • I am starting this week but I won't be exactly be following the schedule. I am planning on doing P90X3 3 days a week and running 5 days a week.
  • 2/1 - 8 miles 2/3 - 5 miles 2/4 - 3 miles 2/5- 6 miles 2/7 - 3 miles 2/8 - 10 miles 2/10 - 3.1 miles 2/11 - 5 miles 2/12 - 6 miles 2/14 - 12 miles 2/15- 3 miles 2/17 - 5 miles 2/18 - 3.3 miles 2/19 - 6 miles Total so far for the month of February = 78.4 miles Have a 10 mile run planned for Friday and a 5K on Saturday.…
  • I wear both Brooks Glycerin 11 and Saucony Triumph 10 which I alternate between. They are both pretty cushy shoes. I need a wide toe box which both have. I also have Saucony Kinvara 3s which I have worn for short runs and 5K races. I ran 3 hard races in November (4 miler, 10K and 5K) and developed a foot injury. I'm not…
  • I run 4 to 5 days a week and do T25 3 days a week. There is at least one day a week that I do both (run in morning and do T25 in evening). I am on gamma phase. Obviously I am not exactly following the T25 schedule which is 5 days a week. I don't have the time/energy to double up. I am training for a half marathon so…
  • Going for 100+ miles this month. Missed 100 last month by 3 miles. 6 miles completed this morning on the treadmill. 22 miles so far this month. All done on treadmill or indoor track. Really hope to get outside on Friday and Saturday for a run.
  • 7.4 miles this morning. RIP Meg
  • I am a classic pear -nothing on top, bottom heavy. Always had a flat stomach until I turned 40 a couple years ago. Now I have a little bit of a gut. Not too much but would like to see it go. Whenever I lose weight, I still look the same to me because my shape never changes. Once a pear, always a pear.
  • My preference is for running for 2 reasons: it is more efficient (burns calories in a shorter period of time) and it feels like I am working hard (don't get that feeling as much with walking). However, it is really up to you. Just so whatever you are going to stick with - walking or running or a combo of both.
  • I was running on the indoor track at our YMCA once and saw a guy wearing a button down dress shirt running. He was also wearing one of those Camelbak water backpacks. I gave him an A for effort but thought the waterpack was a bit overkill, especially since he would be passing a drinking fountain every lap (11.5 laps = 1…
  • I am currently wearing New Balance 997 for cross-training (currently doing P90X2, did TurboFire prior). Nike shoes just don't fit my feet very well. For running I wear Brooks/Saucony and got fitted for those at a running store. I am not sure about going to a running store to get shoes for cross-training if you aren't going…
  • I have always worn Brooks Glycerin but was looking for some lighter shoes. I ended up with Saucony Kinvara 3s. I still wear my Brooks for long runs but wear Saucony for short runs/5ks.
