I cannot give specific advice, only what worked for me. I severely sprained my ankle and the advice my Physician Assistant husband gave was: Ice it, rest it as much as possible till swelling is gone. Stabilize the ankle with wrap, etc to prevent rerolling it. Then slowly work the ankle to strengthen the muscles. It took 6…

Want to point out that 5'8" , 160 lbs with a lot of muscle looks much different than 160 lbs with low muscle mass. My goal is 160 also, but at age 47 and currently 215 lbs, my goals have tempered. :) It may change once I get there, but I love to cook and eat, so there's that!

With the recipe issue: I use a food scale and weigh out all the ingredients beforehand, except spices and water. After the dish is cooked, I weigh the whole thing, minus the weight of the container. I divide the weight by 10 (easy number), so each serving is that weight. Input all the info into old recipe calculator and…

Don't need one with mfp. Just eat to your calorie limit. If you have trouble with that, incorporate lower calorie foods (vegetables, some fruits) to bulk up the amount you can eat. Read the sticky posts at the top of the forums. They will help.

If I'm running low on calories I do salads. Greens and cucumbers and other things are really low in calories. I try to leave a decent amount of cals for dinner, tho , as I am an evening eater.

I would wait for your tests to know for sure, but I had calf cramping a lot and my solution was to drink much more water. Dehydration may be your reason for the cramping. Also if you are gripping something while exercising. Might need to stretch out your hands.

A fraction of a pound. Half a pound would be .5

Quite a number of possible factors: you are eating less than you think, you NEED to eat more calories than you think, you ate less sodium for some reason which dropped your water weight, natural weight fluctuations. I weigh myself daily and my report chart looks like a child's scribble. If the scribble heads downward I…

I LOVE this!

I would suggest posting in the general diet and weightloss help section. Also, give much more information: height, weight, goal weight, etc.

The less weight you have to lose, the longer it will take. A digital kitchen scale to weigh your food is a good idea to make sure you are eating what you think. Good luck.

Some things I try is if I'll be eating high calorie later I eat less earlier. Salad at lunch, small cereal, at breakfast for example. Or, I look at the online menu (if they have one) beforehand and pick something that will fit. Subway can be ok if you skip the mayo, or are willing to skip the cheese. Even so, I still give…

Hahaha, that's me exactly!

1. Having my underwear fall down my hips to be saved by the crotch of my jeans. Thanks goodness I wasn't wearing a dress! 2. Shopping in my closet, trying on a skirt that I had gotten too big for, and realizing I missed my window of opportunity! 3.My husband posted a picture of me from a year ago when I was at my heaviest…

Because of not having a food scale, you probably are eating more than you think. 1200 seems rather severe to me, but that depends on your height, starting weight, etc. I'm 45 years old, 5' 7", and I eat 1600 to lose a pound a week. I also use a food scale. Read the guide to get you started on your path to sexypants at the…

If you want someone to check your diary you have to make it public under settings. If you don't want that we need more information: height, weight, goal weight, age, calorie goal, how much you are trying to lose a week, if you weigh your food on a digital scale.

I do. When I got friends on mfp, then I started to rethink it, just because I was a little embarrassed. I got over that, tho. I weigh daily, log daily. It helps me see patterns, TOM patterns, when sodium effects things, etc. Here is a ss of my chart. I love charts:

I made the mistake of undereating when I first started here. I ended up with brittle nails, and bad headaches whenever I worked out. Hair loss is possible, too. I eat 1600 a day and lose around a pound a week as a 45 year old female. If you don't care for veggies, smoothies are a great way to go. Spinach has almost no…

Avocados are a great source of fat and other nutrients.

I would look up the Eat, Train, Progress group on here. They have a lot of info on this subject and can help you with specifics. In general: You cannot gain muscle on a calorie deficit. Eat at a small surplus to gain muscle, but realize you will gain some fat, also. Measuring body fat percentage is almost never completely…

I log it as like .1 or more of a serving. Depends on how big the bite is.

Beautiful, you look so happy!

Thanks! Too bad it took me till my 40s, huh?

Fantastic! Such a great feeling and you look great!

I have heen losing weight since April 2014 and I weigh myself everyday. Your weight will fluctuate wildly from morning to night, day to day. If these fluctuations upset you, don't weigh daily. You should look to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week, depending on your deficit. Here is a screen shot of part of my daily weight graph. As…
