Three words: revenge weight loss (with the goal of looking so good it makes him cry) Alternatively, watch Legally Blonde and emulate Elle Woods or Game of Thrones and be Khaleesi.

Ah, the ol' weight loss cha-cha. One step forward, two steps back. Tis a dance I know well, lol. Welcome back!

That is also a problem area for me. Some exercises that are helping: Hip ABductor weight machine- so you start with your knees together and move your legs outward against the resistance created by the machine. You should feel a burn in the outside of your leg. Stairclimber machine at intervals- REALLY work hard for 1…

"Macros" refers to your portion of carbs, fats, and protein you consume in a day. These are given in grams. 1g of carbs and protein is equivalent to 4 kcals (aka "calories") of energy. 1g of fat is equal to 9 kcals of energy. There are recommended amounts of carbs, protein, and fat that you should eat in a day based on…

No peel on the banana. Can be a pain! (Sticky fingers, haha)

I have to have a goal I'm working towards or I fall off the wagon. It could be a fitness goal (running a 5k or 10k), a weight loss goal (using a program like DietBet where I give them money and am forced to weigh in on a monthly basis), or a social goal (like attending a fundraiser or work party in a fancy new dress). I…

Agreed. The biggest discrepency I can think of is with frozen chicken- shrinks like crazy when cooked. Use the 3oz cooked weight as your portion size. With frozen veggies it doesn't really matter +/- 5 calories maybe with differing portion sizes, lol, so I combine frozen and cooked weights. Fish has gotta be raw because…

I am a couch25k graduate and I love it! That said, it took me 3 times to complete the program (I would lose motivation around week 6 and quit) and I also had to repeat some of the weeks (So instead of doing that weeks run 3 times and then moving to the next week, I needed to repeat it 4, 5, or 6 times...or even pick a…

I eat 1400-1900/day, but I'm still losing weight (MFP wants me at 1250). Feel free to friend and we can support each other! :)

Ahaha, That's the face I give people who say they don't like chocolate. Really though- Butter is so oily! It doesn't keep well outside the fridge and doesn't add much flavor unless its been baked on something (like turkey) or in baked goods (like cookies and cakes). I have honestly just never seen the appeal . There was…

Add me too please! :)

*cracks knuckles* I GOT THIS. -Cheap carb sources: oatmeal, rice, spaghetti, bananas, canned corn, canned beans, and bulk raisins, potatoes -Cheap fat sources: sunflower kernals ($3 for a large bag that lasts at least a 1-2 weeks) -Protein sources (which will be the bulk of your cost): raw chicken at 1$1.99/lb, frozen…

I found there's a big difference in how my body responds if I'm getting carbs from wheat (breads, cookies, granola bars, 100 calorie snack packs, tortillas) vs from veggies or fruits. I would recommend keeping your carbs the same, but changing the type of carbs you eat to include more fruit and veggie sources to see if you…

I agree w the above advice- waxing or shaving is a must. I actually stopped shaving everywhere about 2 years ago (down with "the man" and patriarchal standards of beauty!!! Lol) , so the thought of tackling all the body hair myself w a razor sounded like a lot of work. It was easier just to yank all that out. Also I do get…

I think if you're thinner to start out with- muscle building is the name of the game. I have always been a "big" girl and I've got a good bit of running under my belt (including a half marathon) so for me, weight loss and getting rid of subcutaneous fat to show the muscle I already had was my game plan (hence all the…

Giiiiirl, Join the club! I have so many stretch marks. So many!!! Hips boobs arms...the marks are covered up pretty well with the tanner but up close you could still see them quite easily. literally tho- every single girl has stretch marks. Don't let it stop you if you really want to compete! :)

And here is a little write up about how I prepared without a coach, if it helps anyone! :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/down_w_the_man/view/a-smart-girl-s-guide-to-bluffing-your-way-through-a-bikini-competition-740819

Cocoa powder has literally saved my life. You find it in the baking session at any grocery store. To drink more water, I add a tsp or two to the bottom of a glass and fill with hot water (swish the first bit of water liberally or it will cake to the bottom). No you have some weak chocolate flavored hot chocolate…
