I'm a diabetic also and never heard about the protein thing. Um, I'll have to find out. Anyway I have been hooked on quaker oats maple and brown sugar instant packets with 1 tbsp. of peanut butter. This is so yummy. Last week I tried having regular oatmeal instead thinking this would be better for me but what ended up…

opps! What I wanted to say is that It really is a balancing act. Last week in the middle of my step rebok class I had to run out to the juice bar and down a banana. I was in a panic. For breakfast I usually have a packet of sweetened oatmeal and 1 tbls. of peanut butter, well I tought I it would be healthier to eat regular…

I am so glad you asked this question. This is the same thing I struggle with. I'm afraid I end up eating foods that I should be staying away from. I'm also feeling like being a diabetic is making it extremely hard to lose the extra weight. Is this a possibiity?

I lost my 53 year old brother last Nov. He actually had had the test done and it came back ok. They only dectected it when he was trying to get life insurance. By the time they realized what was wrong it had already gone into his bones. He passed away a little over a year from when he was diagnosed. While he was in a coma,…

Welcome to the site. If you are like the rest of us you will become addicted to the it. When I'm home I find myself constantly getting back on the computer. I do a load of laundry then come back on, I eat then come back on. I Have just found a lot of encouragement by reading the different post. There are a lot of awesome…

My husband will ask me a question about something that needs to be done. My response on many occasions is " I don't want to think about it right now, I'll think about it tomorrow" He then replies " I know Scarlett" As in my all time favorite movie "Gone with the wind" Husband of 37 years name is John. So---Johnsscarlett.

Congratulations! She is beautiful! What a blessing.

I actually like them better with less sugar. I have to admit I added a dollop of fat free cool whip and it made them even better, just a one tablespoon. very good!
-
I've made them twice and yes that was the consistency. My husband like yours also liked them. I added walnuts 1/4 and this last time I actually just used 3/4 cup of the sugar and they were very good. I just thought they were a little sweet the first time. Hope this helps.

Vegtables! I like them but I have to be in the mood for them. I do not eat enough of them. I'd rather have a bowl of cereal.

Princess I so do agree with you! McCain and Palin. Woot! Woot!

I feel your pain. I have only lost 7 pounds since May. I wake up every morning feeling like I'm in a nightmare I can't get out of. Menopause is the devil! I started when I was 38 and ever since then I have gained weight and struggled to get it off. I am about 20 pounds lighter than I was at my heavyest. My daughter says I…

I actually wore my heart rate monitor and just watched tv for an hour. In one hour of just sitting there I burned 55 calories.
-
I do an hour on the eliptical and only burn 400 calories. I am staying within my heart rate for my age. I can certainly go to higher levels on the machine but this causes my heart rate to get to high and I thought that was not a good thing. Anyboyd?

Are you kidding? If I were losing 1 - 2 lbs a week I would be doing handstands! Keep in mind I am 53 yrs old and have not done them since I was in my 20's.
-
I went for over a year and I did see results but I became bored with it after a while. I did build some muscle and that was a good thing. I now belong to a gym and I like the variety much more.
-
I actually set it to lose 1 pound per week but that has not been happening. I'm starting to feel frustration about the whole thing. When I started this back in May I thought by Christmas I should be pretty close to my boal but here we are an I still have so much to go.

Ok so I'm confused. This site has me at 1200 calories a day, yet my BMR is 1227. Based on what I have been reading here I should be eating at least that much. Could this be the reason I just am not losing weight even though I work out 6 days a week and watch what I eat. I have been eating my exercise calories but on Sunday…

Thanks! Excellent Post.

When I have really ripe bananas rather than throw them out I mash them, put them into a freezer bag and freeze. They make awesome banana bread!
-
I'm a diabetic too and although I made these brownies and thought they were wonderful I think the next time I make them I will add a little less sugar. They were pretty sweet. I also added nuts. Very yummy! If you try the splenda let us know how they turn out. Thanks.

Me too. I was freaking out thinking what am I going to do. I'm on my way to the gym and thought I'll give it one more try. Yeh! I'm glad I did. Have a great day everyone!

I'm eating it right now. It is so yummy! Portobello mushroom pizza. It's an atkins recipe I found. 1 Portobello mushroom (about 3 ounces, stem removed, wiped clean with a damp paper towel. Garlic oil spray ( just used regular olive oil with a sprinkle of garlic powder) 1 Tbls low-carb tomato sauce ( I just used homemade…

A very old movie, I think it' was made in the 1950's but it is devastating. Makes me sob everytime I've seen it. "Madame X"
