  • I'll let you know what's worked for me. I don't usually eat my calories back, unless I'm still hungry and then I settle for half, and it usually does the trick. I make sure my food choices are wholesome. Protein, veggies, etc and I dont drink my calories. You can count calories all you want but if your food choices aren't…
  • Hmmm. Everyone raves about the foam roller. They say it hurts so good. lol I usually stretch in between my sets so that everything doesn't get all bunched up but I'll definitely add some of this in and see if that helps.
  • I technically live in Fountain but I like it here. There are some times where I would like to move somewhere a little more rural considering their building everything in Fountain now but gotta go where the jobs are. lol I tried doing Insanity at home and only made it through like a week. I get bored working out at home.…
  • I'll try and get some videos this weekend. My lifting partner just came back from Afghanistan last week so I'm stoked to have him back in the gym with me. Fittreelol - mobility work? please enlighten me. lol Leadfoot_Lewis - That's awesome! I've chatted with people on here from my hometown, which is back in NC, but to my…
  • My husband takes his shoes off and lifts in just his socks. While he was in the army he broke his 5th metatarsal and had to have a screw put in. Because of that he walks with his weight on his outer heel so his shoes wear out fast in that area. Making it an unbalanced surface and not good to lift with. If you can't find a…
  • So here's an update. Yesterday increased my deadlift to 145 lbs. Lifted without gloves and a hook grip and everything went smoothly =) Thanks for all the suggestions!
  • Thanks for all the replies! I found out yesterday that my husband actually uses straps when he does his dead lifts so If it ends up that I have to go that route, atleast he's there to show me! For now though, I'll go with the no gloves and give the hook grip a go on my working sets and see if that helps. Also, thanks…
  • And hmmm to the straps. That sounds like it might work. Anyone have any experience with them?
  • It's not that it's needed I guess, just helps keep everything in line when doing the OHP and rows, etc. I could totally ditch them for a better grip with deadlifts since it's not really requiring in weight be ON my hands. Just hanging from them.
  • I'm on my second week of Stronglifts and I love it! A much easier full body workout than tinkering with each individual machine! I can stay at the rack and knock out everything in an hour and burn just as many calories! How much weight have you increased by in your 2.5 months if you don't mind me asking? As in what you're…
  • Cardio is great but I would suggest throwing some weight training in there. Maybe switch it up and do cardio in the AM and weights in the PM. Lifting weights burns just a many calories as a cardio session. Not to mention you burn more calories at your resting heart rate with more muscle tone also. Other then that, eat…
  • I lift, and prefer that over cardio. I'm not vegan or vegetarian even but I do love my veggies. Also having gone to culinary school, I have some knowledge of other ways to get added protein. =) Add me if you'd like!
