  • Medical advise for binging should be sought from a professional. Good job on not getting sick and for getting off meds. We are stronger than we think we are. You seem to be in a better place mentally. So now work on breaking your habits. Its a tough road but worth the work. Get to the root of what binge eating does for…
  • A routine for weigh ins? Wake-up pee strip weigh ...daily, weekly, whatever. Not much to it but to do it. :)
  • Sounds a lot like my damn FitBit HR giving me 2200+cals/ day...my TDEE is actually around 1800 after analyzing 3+weeks of data. Hail to the spreadsheet! I have just recently started standing up at my desk since my knee injury last summer so- hopefully Ill get a little more for it. (But Im not counting it as extra)
  • Ill just leave this here: fad/ noun an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's qualities; a craze.
  • I second the photos- they are how I was able to see how large I had become- its also how I see progress the other way. Usually every 15lbs I see a difference.
  • Been there...Ive spend half of my adult life so miserable. All the OTC things became inefficient. I mean, 2-3 Exlax and still nothing for 3 days... just kill me now. The only thing that changed my life, literally: Tracking fiber- getting over 35g/day. (chia seeds, oatmeal, fiber one brownies, Quest bars, spinach, apples,…
  • Idea on how to lose?= Keep going with a deficit. :) Most of us experience a gain or a stall here and there. Its part of the journey. You ate a little too much- you ate some high sodium - you have a normal fluctuation.
  • There are 2-3 days per month Ill eat at maintenance so I dont go on a murderous rampage. Diet + flo = dangerous territory. So I feed my hormones to appease them. I still weigh myself but fully expect a stall or slight gain over these days.
  • My FitBit is inaccurate for me giving me a daily burn of 2100-2500 cals...my TDEE is 1800. And was proven to be true based on 3 weeks of daily data. I have since calculated TDEE- set that # less 20% as my daily goal and unsync'd my Fitbit.
  • This is how I was as well. But here is my story about my fitbit. My Fitbit Charge HR has betrayed me and GROSSLY over estimated my burns. Not just exercise but my basic daily living. Ive kept a spreadsheet for 3 weeks with my ins(MFP) my outs (Fitbit) and the deficit - with projected weight loss vs actual weigh in. Totally…
  • Maybe they need ACV. I heard it improves mood as well as growing long shiny locks. and it cured my co-worker's, brother's gout. ;)
  • Yes... it changed $h!t to kitten
  • I keep Ostrim meat sticks with me for this purpose. 80cals and 14 grams of protein. My victory was yesterday in realizing, thanks to my spreadsheet, that my Fitbit is complete and utter *kitten* and Im over-eating. Back to TDEE - 20%.
  • Thats my go -to. On the daily for lunch. With 1/2 oz of almond slivers and grape tomatoes. Done and done. Or in a smoothie. Ive never cared for cooked spinach- however-as a result Ive also never cooked spinach. Oh and of course cheesy spinach artichoke dip- if we wanna just blow the whole week. ;)
  • I see that you are eating paleo...but are you weighing and logging these foods? It doesnt matter what your diet consists of as long as you are eating less than you burn. What changed after the 15lbs? How long have you been "stuck"? PS. Foods, like bacon, arent "bad". For those who want low fat diet or are predisposed to…
  • A deficit ...is a deficit... is a deficit. You can achieve this any way you please.
  • Holy kittens a multi-purpose woo button!? I'd prob never use a "wooooooo" button other than to cheer for a "woo" button!! such potential here!
  • Nothing wrong with a high fat diet... but you need olive oil to cook sausage? *edit* Ah, cook eggs in olive oil+sausage. Why not cook the sausage- then cook your eggs in the sausage fat? Anyway...* Enter your stats and goal in to MFP. Weigh and log all your food. No exceptions. No estimations. Get a food scale. Log your…
  • This morning I am up 2.7lbs from last week's weigh in where I was down over 2 lbs. Last night I ate 1c cooked brown rice and some homemade chicken in smothered in Asian sauce (hellooo sodium!!) By Friday the water weight will be down and hopefully next Monday Ill have a loss. There will be fluctuations such as this. 3…
  • There is much controversy surrounding alkaline water and its effects on the body. Claims that an acidic pH causes an array of symptoms and feeds cancers, etc. Many bottled water brands have been tested and show to be acidic. Hell, my out-of-the-faucet is the most alkaline water Ive tested aside from the Essentia brand.…
  • Thats logical and what I was looking for. :)
  • I dont blow the whole week's deficit, but I will eat at maintenance or a little above one day for an event or just because I can. But then I make sure the next day(s) I work a little harder and smarter. The daily 12am-12pm is great... but I also look at my intake/output for the week or at the least over several days.
  • Even better. Now ill have an excuse for mojitos. "But look at all this mint!!"
  • Why would eliminating poor nutrition choices and replacing them with healthier alternatives all of a sudden create a need for a multi-vitamin? Its it not possible to lose weight and eat a well balanced array of foods that meet those needs? I realize there are a few specific minerals/vitamins that may not be met but those…
  • I am 5'4 151lbs or a little less I wear a 7/8 currently. God knows how many variations of sizes US clothes stores carry.
  • Oh gawd no. I know all about slimy okra from making gumbo. But drinking in water? ...gag me with a spoon
  • Oh absolutely!! And congrats on quitting the Rockstar!! My hubby had to "quit" Monsters- he drank them too often. Not good for you. So I understand the struggle. Especially for those who dont like coffee. Ive never been a fan of the energy drinks other than a Noz or a RedBull here and there years ago. I must have caffeine…
  • Then your water is infused with lemon.
