I wear gloves because it hurts my hands otherwise (especially around my wedding ring) and I'd rather not get super calloused. but like pudding, I still get some callouses anyway.

Gotta love these stories, although I do think I discovered a new level of "curls in the squat rack" this morning... it's curls in the only deadlift platform in the whole gym. By a creepy dude who just happens to be working out next to me every other set no matter where I am in a mostly empty gym. Had to set up the bar and…

I've got an awesome leg day workout planned for Thursday morning, then I'm going to enjoy feeding my muscles... because, yea that's why I'm going to eat all the yams and pecan pie... for the muscles ;)

You don't need motivation, you need consistency. Motivation will give you warm fuzzies, consistency will give you results. You're not going to feel like it a lot of the time, just grind through.

Beeps - jealous! looks so nice, especially compared to the snow here in Idaho. Julie - I skipped S6 as well, 7 was a great burn but I agree it's hard to lower your weights! Cowgirl - awesome about that planks, I need to take a page out of your book and work on those  Ali - so frustrating about your sister, it's…

Jamaica - nobody likes bridesmaid dresses, it's a cardinal rule lol Julie - I'm with cowgirl on the constant tracking. I've started using an app called Libra that I can track my weight daily and you can see all the fluctuations and it automatically calculates your overall trend. I like it a lot, it's helped me tame some of…

I'm 5'6" and recently reached my 130 goal weight but I am planning to go lower in order to help me get to the certain kind of look I want. I'm going to do a slow bulk to build muscle over the winter, so the more fat I lose now, the less I'll have to lose in the spring.

I used an armband for a while but I don't like the feel of them, plus I would always rip the earbuds out of my ears when I was working with dumbbells. My hubby got me a nice set of bluetooth headphones for my birthday that I LOVE. Now I just set my phone on the floor or on a bench when I'm doing weights. These are the ones…

I've been doing Leangains for just under two months and it works well for me (I do 14:10). I'm not especially hungry in the mornings anyway and honestly I was just so tired of eating CONSTANTLY, especially when the pressure is on at work. It took my body about 3-4 weeks to fully adjust to it, I plateaued hardcore for 2 or…

So after measurements, I'm down to 18% body fat (according to the handheld thingy) and my waist is at 28.5" so I'm halfway there, we'll see if I can get another 1/2" by Christmas with all the delicious things coming out of hiding. Jamaica- so sorry about the downtime love. You will look incredible in your dress for sure,…

Spokane, Bellingham, or Lynden? edit: realized what it is, sent you a PM haha

Great work! (*) ETA: I'm gonna be a creeper and say that you look crazy familiar & I can't figure out why...

Ali – I like to think of Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. as just a built-in cheat day, or at the very least a “no logging” day. I think it’s mostly there being so much yummy food around every single day during November and December that does the real damage. Don’t stress too much about one day :) Love and Julie – sweet! I’m…

"Don't I know you from somewhere?" All the time. I dno if I just have the most familiar face ever or what

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been AWOL for what feels like forever - work is crazy intense this time of year and that's really the only chance I get to check in (don't tell my boss ;) ). I've only got two workouts left in Stage 7 and then I am finished! Scale victory: I hit my goal weight! NSV: I won the weight loss challenge…

Checking in meeting lifting and cardio goals, still lacking some discipline in my water consumption, but I'm working on it. I know I've been losing lbs consistently, but I'm going in today to get final measurements for the challenge at my gym (waist, BF%), so we'll see where everything else is at and I'll update. :D

Too simple? [/quote] I was going to search for this exact image to put in here. +1

Actually this is a great strategy that I use pretty often in winter, I'll run around the house in my super-tight workout shorts (someday I'll actually be able to wear them to the gym lol) and a sports bra or tank, or sweater on chillier days. It keeps me conscious of how my body is feeling... and the hubby definitely…

Generally speaking, not losing weight is not a result of not eating enough. As long as you're still alive, your metabolism is going. Have you set your calorie goal and tracked consistently? Track everything that goes into your mouth, workout a few times a week when/if you can. It truly is simple, though it's easier said…

I'm in the same boat, like you could almost exactly be describing my husband to the letter (even height, age, etc.). He acknowledges that he has a belly & makes jokes of it sometimes, but I never say anything to him outright. I'm just doing what I can do for my body and to be an example for my daughter (and for him). You…

I work in lobbying/PR so drinking is a big part of my job as well, I will often fix myself what I call a "faux-mosa", it's just sparkling water and a teeny splash of juice. It looks like an alcoholic beverage so you don't have to be obvious about it and subject yourself to pressure from others plus it keeps me hydrated!…

Definitely not strong smelling like tuna, I don't think they taste fishy hardly at all, but those are my tastebuds. They're a super easy meal though, worth trying out :)

I get around the mama guilt by working out in the morning before everyone else wakes up. Then go about the day as usual and workout is out of the way, have the same amount of time with my little one as I do on non-workout days. Honestly though, you don't have to work out to lose weight. Keep a calorie deficit and you will…

My current favorite is: low carb whole wheat tortilla, frozen costco salmon burgers, goat cheese, salsa. I can keep all the making for it at work, just heat up the salmon patty in teh microwave, chop it up and make some yummy fish tacos!

Don't know how I'm ever going to catch up! I love how active everyone is in here, just checking in. Getting through stage 5. I had my annual pap smear today, then came the question of what I've been doing for exercise and all I can say is...

^^^ I'm stealing this word >:) I re-started my journey this last year, motivated by my father slowly losing to cancer and my mother being diagnosed with a degenerative bone disorder in her back. I can't even imagine life without them and I want to be around for as long as I can for my daughter.

I tried out a thermogenic in college for a couple weeks... it made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack, I assumed that meant bad news for my body and dumped the rest out.
