  • I didn't say that, nor would I like to debate the costs/benefits of food-based multi-v's over eating certain foods. I was simply responding to his disgust of the friend having to discontinue dairy products. You can get calcium and vitamin d from other foods, too.
  • I am trying to be conscious of my sodium intake, too. That stuff will make you retain water like crazy (which isn't too bad of a deal because I live in AZ  ). For me, lunch usually includes bare chicken breast and baby spinach. Protein, but not much else. lol Anything processed is going to be extremely high in…
  • This happens to me often when I do cardio. I will walk uphill for 20 mins before running and my calves get beat up pretty good. I'll run two miles after the uphill walk, and by the end of the second mile I get severe exhaustion on those muscles. I'll either press on with the run and have some very sore calves the next day,…
  • TIME TO GO NUTS!!!:explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode:
  • The trainer sounds reasonable to me... but then again I take things to the limit. She can easily offset the lack of dairy with supplements.
  • Being as that I am too lazy to write up a lenthy review, I'll keep it short. I have been weight training for years on-and-off, but this time around I have been consistent for about 5 months. Natural building is the only thing I've done in the past, but I decided to up the pace with a bit of a supplement. I discovered the…
  • I checked it out the other night from reading another thread. Seems cool but I don't really see the point unless you're training for the olympics.
  • I would stay in the ballpark of a 500 calorie deficit. You must be tiny if you only need 1320 calories! I usually burn about 1200 calories in the gym (weights plus cardio) and I end up having a recommendation of 3800 calories. I try to stick to about a 1000 calorie deficit to keep lean.
  • I actually can't stand listening to music while I work out or do anything which requires focus (i.e. work). I wish they would keep the gym quiet... :grumble:  I do enjoy watching tv while I do cardio, though. The benefits of zoning out while running 5 miles are understated to say the least. Cops was on and I ran…
  • Carrying weights will help burn a few extra calories. It probably gave you somewhere in the ballpark of 30-50 extra burned. If you noticed a significant difference in difficulty with your walk home compared to your walk there, you were burning extra calories. Not much extra, though.
  • I'm not gonna lie, the boneless wings at Buffalo Wild Wings are unbelievable. I usually eat 16 or so to myself  The burning hot ones are insane, too! I took my younger brother there and I ate 10 out of the 12 we ordered because no one else had it in them to stand up to the pain. I freaking love Buffalo Wild Wings.…
  • I can empathize... I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. I was laying by my pool today for a while and starting roasting. I believe it's mid-90's here right now. Luckily I work from home and sit inside all day so I don't have to deal with the heat. :glasses:
  • I had the following: - EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control Shake - One serving of low-fat low sodium tortilla chips with fresh pico de gallo - Fat-free turkey between 2 slices of bread - 16.9 fl. oz bottled water - second round of Super Nutrition Opti-Pack Iron free vitamins What did you have?
  • The scent of greasy food is almost too much. Kind of like the urge to buy popcorn at the theatre.
  • Hey, Petros  Good call on nixing the cigs. I bet you feel way better! Best of luck to you in your fitness adventures.
  • Lovin' it. I used to work out at LA Fitness, which requires you to tune-in to a certain radio frequency to hear the TV. Needless to say, I never bothered gathering the hardware to make that happen. I now work out at a small local club up in North Scottsdale and each cardio machine (treadmill, bikes, ellipticals) has its…
  • They count towards your previous day, unfortunately. :indifferent: I can definitely understand your munchie attack. I used to have a habit of reaching for salty foods before bed, which is a bad idea. A few rules I live by nowadays: - No junk-food in the house. - Don't eat within three hours of sleep. - If I get the…
  • Way to be. Results will come in no time! What is the name of your gym? Is it a small local center or a large chain?
  • Hi, everyone I'm new to the site and just thought I would say hello. There's not much to say about me other than I love working out and monitoring my diet. Here's to a healthy life for us all. Cheers. :drinker:
  • Before you consider what to eat, you want to make sure that you're doing everything you can to get well. That includes sleeping as much as possible, conserving energy, drinking the maximum amount of liquids, taking medication to calm your symptoms, etc. I would try drinking some multi-v vitamin water, or make sure you're…
