I have a bike- yes that is my leg picture. I'm working my way up to using the bike. there are some steep hills I don't want to take it only to have to push it half the way anyways.

True I only started walking 13.5 miles this week but since the 1st of april I have been walking 6 miles. I increased my distance because there was no weight loss at only walking 6 miles a day.

I've never walked a marathon before so I have no idea how long they are. I plan on combating that with a weighted vest. I know the heavier you are the more you lose- right now I am just weighing down a backpack with water.

Why do I walk so much? well I am going to college (6.2 miles away from my house) and I don't have a car. I figure its a win win because I am chunk and can stand to lose 70- 80 pounds.

Thank you for the responses. Take 270 mins divided by 13.5 miles to get 20 mins per mile....then take 60 mins divided by 20 to get 3 mile per hour.... 20 mins per mile....3 miles per hour yes these are miles per day.

I recently started walking 6 miles a day and after a week have already lost 5lbs you can do it! Although it is frustrating in the beginning, it does however make you feel amazing and healthy even after just one day.

I power walk 6 miles. when I first get started on my walks my calves are burning but once i'm at it for a while they settle down was just wondering if there was a exercise i could do to prevent this? I don't eat a lot of meat so i figured it couldn't hurt to try it.

Its not real milk its a protein that you add to water. I personally hate milk. I'm also not a big sweets fan so that's a no go on the chocolate milk. Also what are some good warm up exercises for walking?
