I totally get the anxiety, holy cow. It took me a month of having my gym membership to even go. Honestly. I was soooo worried about judgement. Guess what? No one cares! Everyone there is worried about themselves. You can do it, just close your eyes and jump in.

I got some new weights for home so I tried some of my favorite exercises with them. Kind of just playing but testing my limits and such. I am thinking my biceps may already need heavier than 15lbs, but money is an issue so I will make due!

I was exceptionally sore this morning, and thought I wouldn't manage a workout at all. So I got to work. I drank extra water today, to provide my muscles with hydration while they heal. I made sure to eat more protein than I usually do because it isn't enough. I also stretched all day, throughout the day. I feel great…

Giving those types of comments reinforces that I should be just as kind to myself! That's a huge reason why I love these forums. Give and you shall receive!

My story is almost the same, just not yet finished. You're amazing, congratulations!!

Losing my fat *kitten* was the safest part of losing weight. I always had a great butt even at my heaviest. But yes you absolutely can build it back!! I never did notice it any one place in particular my first time around, and this time I haven't yet made much progress. But I hope my face. It's the most obvious part!

My current mini goal is 2 weeks of sticking to my plan. I wrote it out, planned calorie amounts for parties and events (and I have a plan for each one!). I'm either doing it or I'm not, and I sooo am! After two weeks I can adjust, eat more if I need to or take a break from exercise. But I can do it full force for two weeks…

You're doing great, don't worry. When I first began exercising 5 mins was my max. You add time as your body adjusts and grows stronger. Plus you just get used to being a little uncomfortable. You'll get there with time. But you don't HAVE to do any cardio to lose weight ;)
-
If you're not planning to eat them back I wouldn't worry too much at this point. It sounds like you're early in your journey and maybe right now the key is doing any exercise at all. Im quite over weight too and am often "surprised" at how high my burns are for exercise. I use a fitbit, and my daily calorie use is well…

I actually had the same struggle! So I decided to use intermittent fasting as a way to work around it. Basically I now skip breakfast in favor of a big coffee or tea, and can have my calories spread over less meals therefore making each meal more satisfying to my stomach and soul. After adjusting to waiting until at least…

I think people who don't wear a tracker tend to add in those things, such as cleaning for 15 mins or whatever. I don't because my tracker counts all that for me.

I think it could indeed be a sign of over training. Would it work for you to take a couple rest days just in case? I know personally I would rather prevent a big set back by taking a break, than to ignore a signal my body is sending me and be forced into more time off. If you usually do have one or two rest days, then…

I wake up a lot with it on too. I either bump it or have it get stuck under pillows (causing me to wake to change position), and it lights up if it gets turned toward my face and any light will bug me. And yes also the ability to fully check the time (couldn't do that from the bed before) and then stress over being awake…
-
Oooh I like this comparison a lot. Because I like buying things AND I love to eat.
-
No I'm not going to take the days off. I'm at the point where I either am doing this or I'm not and moderation in all things will be key. I plan to log as accurately as possible and eat foods that will fuel my body and not make me miserable all day.
-
I believe that we lose the self regulation that you're talking about as children. We're taught to ignore signals over time, if we were never forced to finish a dinner or offered snacks when we were upset, possibly our hunger would be directly related to calorie needs. I don't mean to say children will seek out a lean…

Thank you everyone, that's everything I was curious about and it makes sense!

Pilates is a good class too, but I found my gyms pilates instruction was so very slow and not challenging. So for me that class was a snore, because she wasn't giving more challenging options for those of us who did pilates on the regular.

I always enjoyed spin class and Zumba. Both were activities I didn't quite keep up the tempo on my own with, I had a tendency to go slow without an instructor on the bikes and with dance at home I just didn't get into it. Zumba with a group is like being at a dance club with 80 friends you didn't know you had. Spin was…

This too sorta. Except we only got restrictions when MOM was dieting, so we were constantly confused and not understanding why we can have ice cream all week, then suddenly no more ever. Then tons. Then it's gone again FOREVER as far as we were concerned. So I started eating whatever I could, whenever I had the chance. I…

I'll try to make this a little more personal than just "eat more!", but that's my opinion too! I ate at 1200 for a few weeks and definitely had trouble with will power and cravings. 1200isnt a lot and if you are used to a lot more food you're going to be cranky and hungry often. Consider easing up for a few weeks. I don't…

Have you ever played just Dance on the wii?? It's my favorite. I personally won't buy a new system until mine breaks, I just don't have that kind of money. Personally you get out what you put in. Add weights to the exercises to make them more challenging. I could never get bored of the step game and the Hula hoop game! But…

My go to convenience food is Starbucks Spinach feta wrap. Omg I don't know how they did it, but it's the best tasting thing and I love it. It's just under 300 calories, has protein and fiber and keeps me full for hours. Especially if I get a coffee too!

I think people's frustration with the issue of weighing does come out as pretty rude sometimes but they are right. Take a single portion pack of cookies, like the 100 cal oreos. The package will state the serving size, let's say they claim 28g per serving. You eat it at face value, but I weigh it. Turns out there was 30g…

I can't be sure how I will handle it all. I'm hoping for each "event" my partner and I have, that I can keep the rest of the day low cal and not have to stress during parties. I'm also trying out a much higher Deficit this week, so lower calories, in hopes that any overages won't impact me too much. I'm trying not to…

I also started in 5 minute increments. I always thought I would die. Now I can't imagine feeling physically limited, I couldn't run a marathon but I can maintain any standard daily activity with zero trouble and that alone feels great.
-
Add me! I log consistently but am currently maintaining for my own sanity. Will resume losing at least 60-100lbs after Christmas
-
I just use my own body as motivation. I have a few pictures of myself at a lower weight and seeing how bright my eyes were is a huge motivator. I want that back.
-
I didn't notice until 40lbs, no joke. Clothes didn't change, nothing. It was crazy but I knew I had to keep going.

That's what works for me. I enjoy two meals a day most days unless an outside factor is at play. Today I needed a meal earlier in the day and will have had 3, but that hasn't happened in a while.
