Starvation Mode: a myth, right?
I find you all to be very informative and I have a question about advice I see that I never quite understood the reason behind it. I have read that starvation mode is a myth, that such a thing as eating less than 1200 calories is more about nutrition than it is about having "enough" to eat. So if that's true, doesn't ones…

Help me quit my job?
I work as a nanny and do side babysitting jobs to stay in touch with past families and make money on the side. The family I have been sitting for the longest was the first I ever worked for... Their oldest is now well into elementary school and frankly he is a jerk. He's hurtful, inappropriate behavior (such as whipping…

Free App for photo edit?
I'd like to blur a photo to be able to post it some day, and also to know how combine two photos into one image file to be able to post. Does anyone have any apps that do both?

Food and Gas
Hello! I had a funny thought about my own choices today and that got me curious: If a food you enjoy gives you gas (or any tummy trouble really), do you avoid it altogether or modify when you eat it to make it work?

Potential Injury, need kind advice!
Over the long weekend, a new intimate position left me with a pretty significant pain in my lower back. Im 25, never had back pain before so I need some help to know what to do. Its along the center of my spine, in the pelvic region of my back basically on level with my hip joints. Cat/cow yoga poses are possible and do…

Any Water App Recommendations?
I find it a pain in the behind to use the water intake trackers for both MFP and my fitbit app. I would love one specifically that has some widget that lets me automatically add to my daily count with just one or two clicks ideally. I have used water your body and liked it just fine, I would love to see what everyone else…

Post Weekend Bloat
I had a great weekend of family fun and running around, but in the chaos I had some pretty loose logging! Saturday was food I didn't cook so those were my best guesses, but last night my partner and I ordered dominoes for dinner. You know what, it's fine! I woke up this morning expecting a bit of bloat, and it's definitely…

I understand most of it, but...
I feel I have a good grasp on what my BMR is (approximately) and how that differs from my TDEE, and I can use those numbers to figure out my estimated deficit per day (just for my own mental picture of my efforts). I also have a fitbit who likes to spit huge numbers out at me for my total daily calorie expenditure. The…

Inspiration to avoid evening snacking!
Im sure we all have our own struggles, lately mine seems to be evenings and weekends going off plan. I noticed a pattern to the weekends this week, finally stuck to recording everything I ate which was a great success and on days i am active in the morning I stuck with my plan! So my new "rule" to avoid going off plan is…

Lost 100+, had surgery, now finding challenges.
I had jaw surgery a few weeks ago. Not allowed to exercise for 14 days, and now only light non-impact for the next 2-4 weeks. I had to be on a liquid diet for the first week and dropped 12lbs but I quickly was able to chew soft foods and let that be an excuse to over eat while I was not exercising. I'm trying not to beat…

Major Surgery, Major Stress
I'm glad to have found this group. I allowed myself to get to 316 pounds before finally realizing I would need to address my emotions before I could manage my emotional eating. For the most part I feel better just being aware of the problem and I try to ask myself "Why are you wanting to eat this right now?" to curb…
