Your post made me sad. "I acknowleged the yuck that is me" is just about the most honest and sad thing I could think of. I have been there. It sounds like marital counseling would be good, as you both sound like you're not seeking to take care of the other person and put them above yourself. I would recommend starting to…

I lost nearly 8 stone and gained back 6 of them. bad couple of years, going through divorce etc. Wanting to get moving again!!!

At Sams, try a hot dog! With the Bun and dog and mustard and saurkraut it's only 450 calories. The pizza is @ 650 calories.

My potato meal: 1 medium potato, topped with 1 serving ranch style black beans, 1/2 serving shredded cheese, light sour cream and louisiana hot sauce. tastes awesome and it's filling for around 300 calories! Potatoes are great, just fit them into your calories.

AA has a phrase that I think of when it comes to this, take it one day at a time. "Can i do this, TODAY?" is a question you'll have to ask yourself every day. don't think about the year or 2. After all, if you are planning on living past the next year, the time is going to pass anyway. Either the time will pass and you've…

YES! I am with you entirely. I just got this polar ft4 on Saturday, and while i knew i may be overestimating based on MFP calculations, it was giving me 2 times the calories burned! What a depressing wakeup call. i've been losing steadily too, but apparently i need to not eat all my calories back. i'll tell you what…

My wife makes t-shirt quilts, or just blankets actually. Just cut out the graphic on the front and back in the same size as all the others and sew them together. It doesn't take her too long and she does them for our kids, which is super neat. a way to keep the memories around. I would of course be lost at doing that…

I just took a nutrition class this spring, during the last 2 trimesters and during breastfeeding, women need to add 500 calories a day to their diet for a minimum. SO, if you quit breastfeeding and are still eating the same calories as during breastfeeding, chances are you will gain a pound a week. 500x7 days = 3500…

Wow! This is a big deal! Good job for you. i've never been able to run a mile continuously either but i am looking forward to trying. this was an inspiration.

Ha! This is hilarious, and i totally know what you mean! One of the cool things i've noticed is being able to feel my jawline again!

It looks like you may be in the same type boat i was. I just had major reconstructive knee surgery. I could put no weight on my leg at all for 2 weeks, and i've got another 3 to 4 before i can walk while bending it at all. I have about 100+ more pounds to lose, so i am fortunate in that my "maintenance" TDEE was…

I just had my surgery yesterday, I am logging everything that goes into me, and It isn't even going to be that hard since I am going for just a little under my maintenance calories, which is 450 above my previous goal.

A lot of what you say is right, but pound of fat is about 3500 calories, so if you wanted to lose half a pound a week you'd need a 250 calorie deficit.

If you are walking on streets, remember your exact path and then after your walk, drive it. Set your trip odometer then you can take the distance you went, and compare it to the exact time you walked for. For my purposes, i decided to walk in my neighborhood for 30 minutes (i set a timer) away from my house, and then turn…

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone. I guess i'm not the only one to have this sort of worry/issue. I'll be tracking my calories, and eating less than my required basal metabolic rate for my size so i can hopefully shed some weight. since i am still heavy enough to do this and still have 2000 calories a day, i…

Wow HockeyFan! that is really inspirational! It's good to know the same type of results can come just from watching your caloric intake.

Swimming is great for knees that are bad, low impact and such. But for at least a month i'll need to keep it out of the water so it won't get infected, and the cast/brace won't go south. Thats a good idea for after exercise though.
