  • Never eat at your desk. Make an area where you are allowed to eat and eat there only. Break the habit of sitting down and eating while you study. It's just a bad habit. If you want to eat something, go to your eating area, and you may not read or watch tv while eating. Then return to your work. At most, drink water at your…
  • Cut them off. But seriously folks, bicep curls, tricep extension, upper body weight training. Push ups, and if you can't do them on the floor do them on the wall. Both arms, one arm, you get the picture.
  • Don't forget to figure in age! I'm older so I burn more than someone younger. Also, VO2 Max, you have to figure that in for accurate readings. I go low, always on calorie burn, and only eat about 1/2 my exercise calories back.
  • I get up at 6;15 am, get my daughter up and off to school, drop her off at 7:15, but 7:45 I'm at the gym, work out and I'm home to shower by 8:40, and to work by 9 am. I work out on weekends, so only have to do this 3x a week, but I'll never miss my workout. I love it too much.
  • I look in the friggin' mirror and say, still got a ways to go!
  • Just put a tablespoon of oil in the pan, then take a towel, (paper or otherwise) and coat the pan. You shouldn't need 5 tbls of oil unless you are deep frying them. Flip them when the bubbles pop on the edges.
  • Jerky. Beef, turkey or buffalo. No fat, low cal, great snack, high protein.
  • You might try this. When you take your shower have the water as hot as you can stand it, and then slowly cool the water to as cold as you can stand it. This pushes the heat into your muscles, but also cools you off. And I mean cold people. I get it to the point where the hot water is completely turned off and actually, if…
  • I just upped my cardio from 35 minutes to 45 minutes, and the tension on the elliptical from 4-5 to 6-7. It's a killer. I'm a hot, stinkin' sweaty mess when I leave the gym, and proud of it.
  • Since I started here last July I've lost 26 lbs, I workout doing cardio 4x a week and strength training 3x a week, and I no longer take any of my asthma medication, haven't had to use my inhaler, and have reduced the number of pills I need to take a day from 3 to 1. I take my vitamins, eat very clean and healthy, and I…
  • It's my only vice left, thank heavens! Wine, yes! essence of the god's, and I only drink reds. Red Bordeaux, Argentinian Malbecs, Spanish Tempranillo and Italian deliciousness. Some Californians aren't bad either, but I don't like Cabernets, I stay away from whites mostly, but I've found a nice white I can cook with that's…
  • Here's a suggestion. NEVER EVER EVER eat at your desk. EVER! Eat only in the kitchen, or if you don't have one, make an area where you are allowed to eat and only eat there. Even snacks! You need to retrain your brain. It thinks that whenever you sit down that it's time to eat. You need to change that to whenever you sit…
  • It bumps the topic up to the top of the list. Get it? "bump"
  • It's my understanding that when you Strength train, you actually tear muscle fibers in your muscle, Then, when you rest, your body rebuilds the muscle fibers only stronger. So strength training stimulates muscle fibers. Losing muscle under calorie restriction won't be an issue as long as you are doing resistance training…
  • I've been plateauing for a few weeks, but finally lost 1/2 a pound this last week. I upped my cardio from 35 minutes to 45 minutes. A trainer at my gym said that you don't really start burning fat until 30 minutes into the workout, so that should help. Then I switched up my training. Instead of trying to fit in cardio and…
  • you need to eat to lose weight. God's little joke on us all. If you are a woman, you need to eat at least 1200 calories a day. If you work out you need to eat the workout calories plus the 1200. Although, you don't have to. You can eat 1/2 the workout calories back, but always, always, always, eat at least 1200. Try eating…
  • Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It's a sign that you are strong enough to admit to yourself that at times you don't know everything. Asking for help helps broaden your perspective on life and allows you to do things you may not normally do which in turn gives you more experience in living. Believe in yourself…
  • this donut thing that's around my middle. I didn't ask for it, but I got it, and I want to get rid of it.
  • but what does it taste like
  • Check in when you can. If you can let others serving with you know how much we appreciate all you do. If you can, if you find someone who isn't getting any mail, or needs some communication, let me know, let us know, so we can be there for him/her as all MFP's are there for each other. My freedom rests with you and all…
  • You can take the blame, but don't forget to take the credit when you start having your success! Cheers!
  • I used to drink it but now it just makes me burp and fart a lot. I don't need any help in making myself an even more unattractive target than my weight already does, so I gave it up.
  • Goat milk. Sensitive to Cow milk, so I can't drink it, or anything made with it. But Goat milk I can. Cow milk is for baby cows who need to grow up to be 400-500 lbs. Goat milk is for baby goats who need to grow up to be 100 or so pounds. I'll that this one.

  • Eat the calories you are supposed to eat. Increase your cardio. I've been on a plateau for a few weeks and I just upped my cardio to 45 minutes, from 35.
  • Eat one then, get over it, and move on.
  • I make sure I work out on those days, like any other day, and I keep my breakfast and lunch in scope, Then I have the ability to eat a little extra, but as DMPizza says, only on the holiday, back to it on the rest of the other days.
  • That's your only excuse? Jeesh, I had 1,000
  • I understand. Right now, people think my *kitten* is incredible, because it's so BIG!
  • Can't see journal either, go in to your profile and make it public. But, If you are really working out and dieting, let's say you lose a pound of fat, but you've gained a pound of muscle. The scale's not going to change, it's an even exchange, but, eventually, that muscle build will even out and your fat will be melted and…
  • z-pack for a sinus cold? No wonder antibiotics are starting to become ineffective. Antibiotics should not be prescribed unless the cold has lasted over 14 days, and/or the fever is above 102. Otherwise you're looking at a virus that has to run it's course. Sage tea, Emergen-C with zinc, elderberry, and even better…
