Hello! I'm back as well. Today is day three. I'm doing things a bit differently but I realize that tracking my calories is a must if I want to succeed.

No, the purpose of my response was to say to get a second opinion. I actually got a few, because I knew in my soul something was wrong. I didn't give up but learned to be an advocate for myself. I was encouraging that.

Nope, my blood work was within parameters. I also had many symptoms of hypothyroidism. I went to quite a few doctors, (2nd and 3rd opinions), and all said I was fine. One suggested I see a psychiatrist. Most washed their hands of me. Finally someone suggested I go see another endocrinologist. What did I have to lose? So I…

Wow, what a bunch of babies! Get a thicker skin why don't you? Life is messy, smelly, gross and sometimes, if you're really, really lucky, you get to experience happiness. People are weird, and there's so many of us, so you better get used to it. My peeve, of course, is irrationality, but isn't that what it means to be…

Blood work may be inconclusive when diagnosing thyroid problems. I have Hashimoto's and had to get a Fine Needle Aspiration before I was correctly diagnosed. Blood work showed nothing, so get a second opinion. Don't count on the internet, it's 99% crap with a 1% of maybe. But if you want to help your endocrine system,…

I did an experiment and took a nap with mine. It registered my calorie burn from snoring, ;-)!, but really, that hour of rest gave me a baseline that I subtract from the total shown when I get a total from exercising. We all burn a certain amount of calories as our heart beats, as we breathe, and our body processes…

I posted in a different post you posted, (say that quickly three times), but I'll say it again here. High fiber carbs do not produce the same amount of blood sugar, so eat high fiber carbs, as in spaghetti and bread. Home cooking is cheaper than the processed foods and better for you. Get chicken bones and beef soup bones…

Reduce your carbs, but if you eat them, eat high fiber pasta, high fiber bread. If you incorporate fiber with your carbs your body doesn't produce as much blood sugar. Use stevia as a sweetener, that doesn't raise your blood sugar either. I like the liquid, I use it in my coffee. Fruits aren't going to kill you. Moderation…

Hmmm, well, I don't eat low calorie foods. Low calorie foods make me hungry. I eat clean healthy food. An avocado, for me, fills me up and satisfies me for a long time.

We're talking about a man right, not the fashion industries idea of what a man should be, (which is a whole entire other conversation). Yes, men should have hair. Women have hair too. Grooming is important.

Yup, lose fat. But you can strengthen those areas. I find using the cable machine at my gym and doing side bends have really helped my core. And you can do side bends with weights too. Turn it all to muscle baby, and let your body do the rest!

Drop your carbs and beef up your protein, (no pun intended) and fats. Carbs spike feelings of hunger and cravings. Protein and fats turn it off.

It depends on which type of diabetes it is. Type 2 is reversible. Type 1, not always.

Carbs are what make you hungry, and what make you have cravings. Fruits and veggies have lots of fiber. I had IBS, but I don't anymore, because I cut out dairy, wheat, rice, white potatoes, corn and other grains. I work with a nutritionist and I lowered my carbs to less than a 100 g on a non-workout day, and 100 - 115 on a…

I played for the first time last year, and came in 2nd in one league and 5th in another. Had a lot of injuries with my second team and it killed me. I'm not playing this year. I found that I wasn't enjoying football as much, i was too consumed with my Fantasy teams, and when it came to watching a game with my husband, it…

I have a general range, but it will come down to how I feel, how my clothes look, and how I look naked.

Yes, you have to eat more. Your "net" has to be 1200. Do a search on starvation mode here in the topic section, there's loads of info.

I've been insulin resistant for 8 years. My new nutritionist has me on a Paleo type diet. He upped my calories from 1200 to 1460 on non workout days. On non-workout days my carbs goal is between 50-80 grams. Workout days I go 100 - 120 grams, and nothing from grains, rice, potatoes, etc. My carbs are from fruits, (eaten…

Get a restraining order out on your dead beat ex. Has he been paying child support? If not, report him. Do everything by the book but report everything. Don't let him get away with anything. You have to be an advocate for your children, and yourself. Best thing to do is have a record of his behavior so, when necessary, you…

55 and have about 70-90 lbs to go. It will all depend on body composition when I get there.

Well, you should share your food diary so we can look at it and offer some help. The best I can tell you is to eat more. Yes! Eat more, 1400 cals at least, but watch your ratios. Keep your carbs around 100g on workout days, otherwise below 100. Up your protein and your fats. It will help you. Also, since you are doing…

Pain is your friend. It reminds you that you're still alive.

My weekends are my major work-out days. Then I hit two other days during the week. If you get time off, then you need to use part of that time off for working out. Time off, for me, isn't time off from working out.
-
yes, so I worked a 12+ hour day yesterday, couldn't get to sleep last night until 4am, got up at 8:30 am and back to work. I'm now off, (it's 2:43 pm), didn't get to start eating until 2, and I woke up hungry. In fact, I just ate and I'm still hungry.

I've posted this before, but here's how it goes. It will take your skin the same amount of time that you gained the weight to go back to it's correct size. You've stretched it. So if you gained weight over three years, but you lost the weight in one year, it will take two more years for your skin to unstretch. The…

Thank god I'm post menopausal and all this nonsense is over.

I make my own laundry detergent. 1 bar of fels naptha soap. I grate it, (large grate, so it's easy), and then put it in a food processor and grind it up. (I purchased a cheap little processor just to make my detergent. It was $7.00) . Add 2 cups of Borax, (yes 20 mule team borax), and 2 cups of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda,…

I keep telling them I'd gladly pay to get rid of the ads, but MFP ignores me!

I broke something in my foot and didn't stop working out. Get a good supportive show. use the recumbent bike in your gym while you can. I continued to weight train, and put my foot up at night. It's been 6 of the most grueling weeks, but i got through it and so will you. And by the way, the depression could be caused by…
