This is going to be only my second year teaching high school ESL and I am super worried about school starting in like 2 weeks. I have been so good about exercising almost everyday this summer but I know that I won't be as motivated when school starts.

The recommendation comes from the American College of Sports Medicine and they recommend 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men.

I have lost 20 pounds using ONLY MFP. I don't have a heart rate monitor or a food scale and I estimate portions and calories a lot. You will be fine! Don't worry about it!

3 pounds in 2 weeks is a healthy amount to lose. You can't get too impatient with this process. I didn't happen overnight and won't come off overnight either.

There are two other books that go with Ishmael, My Ishmael and The Story of B. Also, Daniel Quinn has written other GREAT books. I recommend After Dachau. Another book about race issues like Assata but more fun/satire is called White Boy Shuffle. I loved it!

Ishmael and Assata would be two of the ones on my list too! Also, a book called Borrowed TIme by Paul Monette which is the true story of a man in the 80's who is losing his lover to AIDS. I read it shortly after my mom passed away and it really made me feel less lonely.

I have lost 20 pounds using only estimates from MFP and a few other sites for things they didn't have on here. I also almost always eat back all of my exercise calories. So, for me, I guess they are pretty accurate.

That is a fine way of doing it. Just put in the number from 1-9 of how ever many cups you drink tomorrow. I already set up the sheet to do the math and add the miles! Good work team!

How insensitive. You wouldn't be saying who cares if it was someone you loved. This sentiment is the exact reason people die from addiction. People do too much blaming of the person and not enough helping and treating their problem.

I have three dogs. :) This is JoJo. She is about a year and we got her from a shelter. This is me and Ella. She loves giving kisses! We also got her from a shelter. This is Prince. He was a stray as of about a month ago and we rescued him!

That is awesome! I just did this with a pair of capris yesterday too! I bought them and then only wore them like once before I grew out of them and then yesterday I fit into them again! It feels great!

I do zumba for free from youtube, You can find so many videos on there of zumba classes and then just make a playlist of ones you like.
