  • Hello all, I'm 46 and have managed to stay 20 to 30 pounds over my goal weight for what seems like EVER (but around a decade at least) after injuries and arthritis sidelined a lot of my activity. I always manage to get down to the higher end of my weight allowance for work, but I want to get to where I am healthy, not just…
  • I'm trying to lose about 25, and just a decade older. This process works if you work it! Start adding friends here who can cheer you on and help boost you up! Good luck! You got this!
  • Well, nothing so far, but last meal of 2012 was Kraft Mac n Cheese with a little extra cheddar sprinkled in ... will most likely be a chocolate caramel coffee protein shake
  • I lift three times a week (Sun/Tues/Thur) and IF I feel like it or can get the time, swim on the alternating days (although that has been on the wayside due to schedule at work and available hours of the pool) ... It gives a a full 48 hours to recover between lift days (currently doing SL5x5).
  • You look fantastic!!! Can't wait to up my stats like that ... Would be there by now, but took about 6 weeks off due to injury followed by lazy and scared to get back into the gym ... I am back now though and although sore, glad I am!
  • bump ... for when I need a lil' Xtra motivation
  • My Dooley-dawg is a 9 year old Boxer/St. Bernard mix... Luvvles him!
  • I had to work today ... Strolled in the door at 7:45 and strolled out by 8:30 ... EDIT: It took me longer to take a shower and get dressed than the length of time I was in the office (and I was the last one out of there)
  • I was up 3.4, but that was pre-poop because, well, I must have had a lot of cheese dip yesterday :blushing:
  • I tried it both ways at various points in time. I found that waiting the extra day only prolonged the soreness. I did it straight through the first time and remembered being sore so figured the next time I did it (after a long injury induced break) I decided to ease the soreness by alternating the days ... I was better off…
  • I don't think it is anyone's business to judge my sexual encounters but me... For me, I am not satisfied with a one night stand. Don't get me wrong, I am sure they have their place and it means different things to different people. I personally enjoy sex more if there is some measure of a relationship involved. But that…
  • I know you asked about suggestions for inexpensive shoes and I really feel that skimping on the shoes is a bad idea. Go to a store that specializes in running shoes and can evaluate your gait and make proper recommendations for you. Yes, the shoes are expensive, but if you break it down into cost vs. gain, it is better to…
  • Love yourself enough to take care of yourself!
  • Didn't realize this was a porn thread!
  • It doesn't matter, it's in the past ... make good choices for today. And tomorrow do the same. And the day after, and the day after. I agree with the thought that "Punishing yourself for a long period of time for a single mistake" is counterproductive. Instead, figure out what triggered the junk food rally and make a plan…
  • I was away for a bit. I decided that I could start back with little steps. I changed my calorie goals to reflect what maintenance would be for my goal weight. This eliminated a large amount of the 'disappointment' I felt in my own efforts as I went through the day. As I found myself meeting that goal, I found that I was…
  • Squats with an olympic bar and free weights WILL work your core. As a matter of fact, a lot of exercises use the core as a by-product, don't discount everything your trainer recommended after all she has SOME experience in all this. My most effective core exercises are actually 'working' something else but my abs, back and…
  • You could try something cheeky like: "Wow, it's awesome how flexible you are. You can put your foot in your mouth WHILE your head is up your *kitten*!"
  • my favorite ... minced garlic, pepper, a can of hunts diced italian seasoned tomatoes and vermouth = Yummy! Marinate the chicken for a few hours in the mixture (in a baking dish. Then put the WHOLE THING in the oven to bake. Serve with rice and use the tomato and vermouth sauce over the rice as a gravy. Great served with…
  • Lowe's does do 10% military discount all year round (for active duty only I believe.) Home Depot does too, BUT in our area, you have to 'pre-register' in order to be eligible for it. And they have even said you can't register at the time of purchase. Military discount and veterans' discount are not the same thing ... I am…
  • I am of a mind to think that you are uneducated regarding what you body truly needs and that you came here looking for assistance, not reprimands. I see you are trying to maintain. I would recommend looking at that option on the goals settings and log the information from your meals in there. I am willing to bet that what…
  • A nice warm cup of tea! EDIT: And if that doesn't work, I go brush my teeth... For me that makes everything taste awful for hours since I am over-sensitive to the toothpaste flavor.
  • Once I decided to do TDEE for my goal weight, the pre-period munchies monster has calmed down a bit (I have mine every three weeks for cryin' out loud!) There for a while though, oh my!
  • My scale and my sharp, SHARP knife set.
  • ^Tina - You look great! Congratulations on your success. As far as figuring out calories, there are other calculators that can get you in the ballpark of the calories you need for maintenance and then you could tweak it based on the crossover information you get from the WW and this site... I used a TDEE calculator and set…
  • Heavy lifting. Add an extra workout 3 days a week just for you! Stronglifts 5X5 or NROLFW. (I personally love the SL 5X5 because the workouts are very predictable, fairly short and challenging EVERY time.) What you ARE doing is great but if you want to BUILD muscle, you have to WORK muscle. Looks like you are getting…
  • How awesome is that!?!?! Congratulations on such an important milestone... Enjoy and keep up the good work! Whoot!
  • Usually when this happens to me I am actually craving some certain nutrient that I am deficient in. SO, I figure out what the 'actual' craving is, generally it's iron, and pig out on spinach. Or if I just want to chew, I eat green beans sauteed with minced garlic and a drizzle of soy sauce. I can eat a LOT to fill me up…
