  • How tall/heavy are you? I have a net goal of 1200 with an average intake of 1500 and I'm 5'0 at 126lbs. Perhaps you should up your calorie goal. 1200 is low for most people and may be too aggressive.

  • I'm 5'0. Ideal weight is 97-128, according to the BMI (if you believe in that). I'm at 126-127 right now. Feel free to add me :)
  • Gender: Female Age: 21 Height: 5'0'' Starting weight: 135 (147 unofficially) Current Weight: 127 Goal weight: ~110 (will reevaluate at 115 though) Activity level: Lightly Active (I sit around at work all day, but I get at least 10K steps after) Weight loss goal: 0.8 pounds per week Calorie Goal (Net): 1200 Average Calorie…
  • Also, and I know this will piss some people off, but where I live medical decisions can be made by a fourteen year old with their doctor's suggestion. I'm sure there is an age limit for marijuana, but the doctor would inform her of that. I have been talking to doctors alone since I was 13 about my health issues, including…
  • Medical marijuana actually has some real benefits for certain conditions. I don't think it's crossing a line for her to mention it to your daughter because it would encourage her to talk her doctor if it's really an issue. Chances are, the doctor will suggest 7 other things before medical marijuana. Maybe this is my…
  • Popsicles! The calories vary, but I can usually eat several of them while staying well within my macros.
  • Nawh. Eating at a deficit won't make you gain. 1200 is generally an issue because it is really low for most people. You can likely eat more, be happier in the long term, and maintain easier at the end of it. Unless you're really short (like under 4'10) or an older woman, 1200 is relatively low. MFP suggests it as a minimum…
  • Why the **** do people make accounts just to revive old threads about Mirena?
  • If my calculations are correct, you're trying to go from 110ish to 98lbs? Check your target loss per week goal. It shouldn't be set higher than 0.5 or 1 per week with so little to lose. Also make sure you're at the right activity level. (Sedentary is ridiculously low, I've heard.) I'm 5'0 (with more to lose) and eating…
  • I think counting calories is more important in the long run, unless you want to rely on a drug forever... lifestyle changes and such. But if it is what's best for you, good luck. I know nothing about this particular drug other than it sounding like adipose which reminds me of Doctor Who :/ Hope you find something that…
  • Oooh, that's awesome. That's on my "to-do" list when I work my way up to a decent fitness level.
  • Feel free to add me. I've also got fibro. I will say that walking everyday has definitely improved how I feel on a daily basis (oh- and drinking lots of water). Good luck <3
  • Hey there! I have fibro too, feel free to add me, and I find walking to be the best compromise for my body. I can keep it up for longer and I generally feel okay while doing it. My chiropractor has noticed improvements since I've started (went from no exercise to walking daily). If you want a more intense variation of…

  • How tall are you? I'm astounded. I'm 5'0 and I rarely go under 1400 and only on sedentary days. I don't know how you have enough energy on that little...
  • I tried on two dresses at H&M today. Both were a size 8. One fit me fine and the other wouldn't even fit over my hips. Don't feel fat because they can't have goddamn standard sizes. That's their fault, not yours. Look at the way the clothes feel, not the number on the label. I guarantee no one is going to ask whether…
  • I'm 21. Been at this for 35 days and not planning to stop.
  • No need to cut out wine. If it fits your goal, that's fine. But, if you are forgoing food to fit it in, that's problematic. Eat more filling foods and don't waste calories on alcohol if you don't feel full.
  • You don't know how you'll look or feel at a given weight. It's easy for me to say I want to be 110lbs because it's not that far away and I've been there before in the last 5 years. For me that's completely reasonable. For others, they may not have any context of what a lower weight will feel or look like and will want to…
  • You'll discover stretch marks you didn't realize you had. :/
  • Could also be that you were dehydrated or something at the time of your last weigh-in or had less waste in your system. I weigh daily and I've had days were I woke up 3 pounds lighter than the day before and then the next day it was back up were I expect it to be.
  • This. Also, amount =/= calorie content. I didn't know exactly how much higher in calories certain meals were until I started here.
  • I eat sweets all the time. I'm down 6 pounds since the beginning of May and 20 since last August. I love fruit, but I also love candy. As long as I log it accurately, it hasn't slowed me down when I eat more of one. Weight loss is about deficit. As long as you're getting the minimum for nutrition, it doesn't really matter…
  • I think BMI has merit at the low end and the really high. It's sketchy at the transition point though. Definitely a good motivator though.
  • I gained 5-7lbs since Mirena and I've lost 18lbs with it. 13 lbs were without any real effort and 5 were within a month of trying. Even though I did gain, I'm not blaming my birth control for it. I ate like **** and drank too much beer. I was also stressed out. There were so many other things going on that explain weight…
  • I'd say go with the doctor. But, also, what did you set your FitBit weight loss goal to? Perhaps 2500/day is for 0.5lb/wk loss while the others are for higher like 1.5 or 2lb/wk?
  • Guilt-free eating. I used to feel really bad about myself for indulging. I would feel guilty about a chocolate bar or something like that. I've had a treat almost every night for the last month without feeling any guilt.
  • I just avoid it. If I want a latte or something, I get soy or almond. Usually I drink black coffee/espresso and eat dark chocolate. It's not that difficult and usually means you get less calories (i.e. no cheese on burgers). I tend to just ask for meals without the dairy component (different sauce or simply remove). I…
