I've done nuvaring, alesse, the mini-pill, and mirena. Alesse was the worst, but only for making me emotional and making my fibromyalgia worse. While I have gained weight while on them, it's definitely been due to my eating habits and lifestyle choices. On Mirena, I've lost 10 pounds (unhealthily due to wisdom teeth making…

I'm 5'0. Aiming for 105-115. I have a medium frame, I think.

Try replacing the latte with plain coffee or espresso some days. Gives you some wiggle room if you want dessert or need a snack later in the day while still allowing you to get the caffeine. It's a lot easier to stick to a plan when you're able to eat your favourite foods while doing it.

How much do you weigh/how tall are you? 1200 is pretty low.

I've had a day or two with exercise over 1000 calories. I set my activity level to sedentary and my FitBit adjusts it accordingly. So, yes, my burns are often over 600 a day from walking but that's also just partially adjusting to higher activity level. I don't think it's fair to condemn everyone without knowing their…

If you have kids, you should all eat healthy together. That way you can teach healthy eating while losing weight yourself. That being said, I eat a lot of microwave food as a university student. It's easier to control portions and I don't have a ton of time to cook. I'm also on a low calorie diet, so it helps. If you want…

If it is within my calories or I have thought it through before eating it (i.e. deciding that I'm okay with it), then it isn't binging. Binging is a loss of control. I tend to only indulge when it comes to food, binging for me is alcohol.
-
Are you walking a lot? Does the app sync that over? If so, what is your activity level set at? If it's at sedentary, you really need to bump it up. (That would explain the high exercise calories.)
-
Or, save some calories and have a piece or two of your favourite chocolate in single-serve packages or only bring one serving from the bar/bag. I'm not a clean eater, but I'm always within my calories and don't feel like I'm "on a diet".
-
I'd aim not to go under 1200 to ensure proper nutrition, but I don't know the scientific validity of that. I would work to net 1300-1400 if I were you on days you exercise.
-
I'm a student too. Doesn't matter that you're behind a desk because: A) 1200 is really low and generally not very great for those who aren't petite women B) You exercise, a lot. Doesn't matter that you sit around most of the day, you exert 4 hours a day of strenuous activity and need to sustain that.
-
You want to be netting 1450. MFP includes a deficit already, so eat back a percent of those exercise calories. I would recommend around 75% to be on the safe side as MFP tends to over estimate calories burned.

I haven't needed a cheat day yet (waiting for the next big alcohol/party setting), but I've definitely treated myself this week. When my fitbit registers a high number of calories burned following a hike, I totally indulge in a chocolate bar or a doughnut or a huge pad thai.

You're welcome to add me. I'm 5'0 aiming for 115.
-
Maybe it's that you have more energy the next day to push through the workouts? But yeah, I have a similar experience, if I eat back my exercise calories- I have better progress.
-
That's fabulous! I hope to have a similar story next April at my local convention. Great job :)

I've lost about two pounds in two weeks. Which (considering I'm less than 10 pounds overweight at 5'0) is actually pretty good. Depends on your deficit and your starting weight/height. (edit: 21, btw)

Blogilates. May want to mute it if you aren't a fan of overly perky/energetic people. There's a variety of videos from what I've seen (I've only tried a few in the last couple days) and so not everything would be hard on the knees, I'd imagine.
-
I notice you mentioning you're 5'5 in another post? 99lbs and 5'5? I would encourage you to up your daily goal. 1200 is really, really low (especially if you aren't generally eating exercise calories back?)
-
I don't know about MMA. But I kicked *kitten* in wrestling because I had muscle and stamina. I was healthy. Why wouldn't you just build stamina at your weight class? Also, you're going to be at a disadvantage among those who are muscular and naturally around 135. You'll be tall and lanky. I was short and muscular in a low…

You're more than welcome to add me. I'm 21 :)

This. I moved out of my mom's house right after finishing high school. I have received no financial support from my family and am working 1-2 jobs while going to school.
-
I have to ask. You're 5'5 and 105, which is underweight. Why are you trying to lose more? If you only had 780 calories earlier in the day... how much are you eating per day?
-
My fourth grade teacher told my mom I had no friends because I couldn't run fast enough to keep up with them and that I needed to lose weight. The truth of the matter was not my weight or ability to make friends, just that one of my ex-friends decided to start telling people I was a lesbian.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you're still in high school given that your goals seem to reflect a school year ending in June with a two month break before September back-to-school. You might want to talk to your doctor and parents to make sure that your weight loss is healthy. 109 seems really low and you want to lose…

I feel you. Though, I'm working down from around 135 (145 originally) at 5'0. It feels so satisfying to be down so little and already noticing improvement.

Hikes and outdoor adventures.

I'd go with lightly active. UNLESS you have something that adjusts for activity like FitBit. I'm set at sedentary 1200 calories (I'm 5'0) and it generally goes up to about 1400-1700 depending on my day. This is super helpful as a student with no unified daily schedule because I can eat to match my activity level without…

This is so important for newcomers to know.
