  • I have two pure protein shakes with a banana in the morning. I drink one with the banana before the gym and then one has a substitute for sugar and creamer in my black coffee afterwards. I find it sustainable and delicious.
  • In a spirit of solidarity...I know I should probably try to at least do calisthenics during commercials but the only workouts I feel like doing after 8pm are the "intimate" kind. Lol. I agree with saving some cals for a light snack...I like berries with fat free cool whip...yum! Or finding a hobby or something other than…
  • Make yourself try a habit change for 3 weeks...and I would do one or two healthy habits at a time instead of changing everything all at once. If after 3 weeks it isn't working, try changing something else. For me, It was a commitment to walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes a day and to not eat fast food (with the…
  • I am currently sitting on my night shift.(only eight hrs so 11-7) I log midnight to midnight. I usually come in and get settled, eat a snack around 11:30, eat a lunch around 2am, and maybe another snack around 4. I also munch on fruit and veggies through out the night. I do ww so count calories a little differently. I…
  • I am a fan of WW. Yes it costs money, but I like that I don't have to track fruits and vegetables. And yes, I have eaten as much fruit as I wanted and still lost weight. I also think the point system is fun. I like 'earning' points. I think that the way they calculate activity points is helpful in that (roughly) 80…

  • My 2 cents: I would recommend trying to get more activity in as well as the dieting. The activity also helps in body composition...making the tummy flatter and your body look slimmer overall. I would recommend finding a friend to take a walk with you 3 times a week (that way you are stenthening your relationships--two…
  • I just eat the romaine lettuce with a couple of crutons and low fat parm cheese. I use a yogurt based ceasar dressing by Bolthouse Farms brand...45 calories for 2 tablespoons. As far as restaurants...I would suggest asking for the dressing on the side and dipping and eating to reduce the calories.
  • --I agree wholeheartedly with this post! I ate fruits and veggies like crazy and still lost 70lbs in about a year with WW online. I would agree that I should probably track if I ate 40 bananas...but I never felt the desire or need to do that. For someone like me, who joined WW after finally waking up about her horrible…
  • Hi! I do the same kind of shift work but don't the commute and it is more patterned...5 days on 3 days off, also I am single so I'm not sure how much I can help but here it goes. For eating: One thing I do to help myself is that I log all my eating from midnight to midnight- even when my dinner is at 2am! This is so that I…

  • I agree with glasshalfful. I have been doing it 3x a week for the past month with classes at my gym and I have noticed a lot of changes in my shoulders and core (my legs were pretty toned already) Plus, I like how I feel when I see that I have upped my reps each week as we do tabata style or other timed intervals. It is…
  • How are you measuring you bf %? 15% BF seems pretty good to me. Maybe you are experiencing "phantom fat" where you are still seeing the you from months ago and your self image hasn't quite caught up to the mirror? A picture would help.
  • LOL. I rock my tiger stripes. They are markers of your hard work and endurance as well as your commitment to reaching a goal. For some women they arethe markers of creating and bearing life. Never be ashamed of them! You want to have a bikini body? Put a bikini on that body, pretty lady! P.S. on other forums around the…
  • I was a Jr in college and it was a really warm spring day. I had screwed up the courage to put on a pair of shorts (I honestly don't know how I even had a pair of shorts because I wore nothing but jeans since I was a teennager...even in the full heat of summer) and sit out on the campus green to prep for a final. As I was…
  • Hi there, I am currently in the navy. I'm not sure about ROTC drills, but in boot camp and at command physical training (PT) we have done a lot of body weight exercises. Things like mountain climbers, burpees, planks, crunches (sit ups are really only used for the physical readiness test or PRT) and of course push ups and…
  • Hey OP, same thing happens to me! I have very limited weight lose three weeks of the month and then , bam! 5 lbs down. I always thought of it as my body wanting to hold on to energy stores just in case a baby was going to happen and then felt free to let it go once it was certain there would be no baby and that my weight…
  • Ok. this is how weight loss works it is really simple. Note I say simple, not easy. Calories are a unit of energy. We can manipulate energy to lose and gain weight. 3500 calories of energy (either used or stored) = 1lb. Weight is lost when there is a calorie deficit, which means that you used more energy than your body had…
  • I eat frozen dinners, but I usually add a salad or I'll mix in steamed veggies to round it out and stay full. Depending on the size of teh meal and my calorie allowances, I may have 2. The sodium is probably the biggest issue.
