The exact same traits my wonderfully awesome girlfriend has.

I'm on the kool-aid. Been doing crossfit 2x a week for the past couple months as well as trying to eat more Paleo. Love the ever changing workouts and support given by other members.

My Crossfit membership is less than my membership at the YMCA.

It's apparent that the continued investigation after dozens of failed attempts to uphold their accusations, are nothing more than attempts to salvage their feeble egos. Ok, so now they strip him of his 7 titles. Now what? They give the titles to the 2nd place finishers? WHOOPS! They have all been accused of doping as well!…

Thanks for the input guys!

Not a bad idea, and thanks gash for responding. Also looking for minimal switch time between exercises. Can't believe with the number of people on this site, there's only 1 offering. :(

Yep...go here http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators.html

Do you have a more accurate method?
-
Not saying the only way to lose weight is with a HRM. But it's most definitely the only way to get the most accurate reading for calories burned.
-
Been getting 400 or better...but of course I'm a 6' tall, 225lb person with some body fat to lose. I think this just shows that it depends on each individuals circumstances and the only true way to determine, is with a HRM. Too many variables to account for ie. body type, age, weight, intensity performed, etc. A more fit…

Don't mean to be a spoil sport buuuuut.....If the moon's pull was enough to cancel the force of gravity and make brooms spontaneously stand up, they would also be able to float. The broom can stand by itself, because the center of gravity is directly above the edge on which it balances. And the bristles are soft enough to…

My resting heart rate is 59. I'm 6' tall, 42 yo and currently 226 lbs. My HRM shows I'm burning just a little over 700 calories doing Insanity.
-
20% doesn't even sound like enough...But I really don't know how much to cut back...I was consuming an average of about 15-1600 while doing Insanity. Just yesterday I upped it to around 2500 because I felt plateaued at my current weight. Now this morning since this happened, I'm thinking drop it back down to maybe 11-1200?…

I think you're already there! Or at least almost where I'd like to be! You were right about the calories burned doing Insanity. My rockstar girlfriend bought me a HRM for Valentines Day and it showed like just over 600 calories burned as opposed to the 430 something I've been logging for several weeks. Pleasant surprise!…

I'm listing calories burned as "Aerobics, High Intensity" for about 35 minutes a pop. I've been looking at HRM to get a more accurate count though. Taking your advice and am going to up my caloric intake. Looking back I think I'm averaging around 1500 (with exercise incl). I'll look to find sources of quick "good" calories…

Ok...starting to get really frustrated. Started Insanity about 4 weeks ago at around 240 lbs. Eat approx 1800 calories per day Estimating that Insanity is burning around 400 calories per workout BMR is 2146 Intake 1800 - BMR 2146 - 400 workout = (-746) deficit I'm assuming that a calorie deficit is in order to lose…

On most forums such as this one, when you reply with anything it pushes the thread back to the top of that particular topic (chronological order), making it easier to find later on when you need it. Everyone just uses the word "bump" because of the notion that by replying, it will "bump" it back to the top of the topic…

Here's what I came up with from the Fitness Frog calculators... BMI - 31.6 Obesity Class 1 (YIKES!) BMR - 2146 TDEE - 3701 Like I mentioned, I was simply using the calculator here to come up with my calorie intake if I wanted to lose "x" number of pounds. Damn, if I need to eat another 1000 calories I would think I'd be…

Not eating enough? Really? Because I feel like I'm eating a lot! I've been using the caloric expectations from this site...the one that asks how active, how old, weight & how much you want to lose / week, and it's coming up to 1940. I'll check the calorie intake that the program recommends. I may have been a bit premature…

Bought myself a pair of calipers and a tape last night off ebay, so as soon as it comes in I'm going to calculate my LBM. Never done that before so it may be interesting what it is and if I can change it for the better. Is it best to calculate weekly, monthly or just whenever?
-
Ok...well everyone's comments are a little more encouraging knowing that it may be typical for some to gain a little before losing. I'm pretty good with my calories typically keeping a couple 2-3 hundred or more calories in deficit, and drink anywhere from 6-10 cups of water a day. Unfortunately, I didn't take any tape…

I get the same way Lefty. Since you are a few weeks ahead of me joining this, I'm going to look to you for motivation to keep it going. (how's that for peer pressure? lol)

I don't want to stray off topic, but I started Insanity a week ago. Holy crap...it is insane! I did 3 weeks and some "life crap" came up and dropped out. I really liked what I was doing with P90X, but as events would have it, I just never got back to "pushing play". Two things led me to Insanity...one, I have a slight…

Hmmm...for responses such as yours ElizabethRoad, you must be perfect. Other than the rudeness, insensitivity, lack of grace or refinement, ill mannered, discourteous & overall lack of good manners, that is. Monst - Obviously calorie deficits are important for weight loss, but keep an eye on the sodium as well. Given your…
