Wow that was fast! Apparently just like it would be if I took that stuff. Hah, thanks everyone! I figured it was bullsh*t but you never know, you know? I'll keep those sugarfree bears in mind next time I'm constipated... man those posts are hilarious.

I recommend Polar as well. I have an F6 that I've had for years that works great. It made such a difference in my weight loss routine. A chest strap is a must for sure! I recently upgraded to the H7 - I would suggest making sure if you get a syncing device that it is compatible

Wow what a difference! GJ!

Great job - it's wonderful to see such motivation in someone so young. Keep it up, and remember it when you face challenges as you grow!

Thanks :)

I noticed on the beach this year many more obese children; it just makes me straight up sad, and IMHO negligence on the part of the parent. The kid is learning bad behaviors from their parents; those mistakes could last a lifetime and develop into many more problems than just extra weight.

5'11.5" ;) Feel free to add!

In progress! I'm 5'11". I started around 200lbs and am now at 160 lbs :) I recently got into a sz8 :)

I would do it. I lift 4x a week and usually am sore depending on the day. I find working out actually helps the soreness! However, if it's causing extreme pain and you know something is wrong, stop so you do not injure yourself.

I saw the nutritionist at my gym...she suggested it as well haha. I started out on The Daily Plate 4 year sago...but I like this site better :)
-
Wow, look at you! GREAT job!

1. Lift HEAVY! 2. Don't eat fast food 3 times a week! 3. Back away from the soda. 4. Emotions do not = food 5. Just because you're stressed, does not mean you deserve frou-frou coffee. 6. Did I mention lift heavy?! 7. Stay at or below 1500 calories. It works for my body. 8. Eat quinoa! 9. Eat egg whites!

I use this; it's okay. It's def not sugar, and I doubt kids would like it. It's kind of an acquired taste I think, but not as god awful as splenda or one of those less healthy sweeteners.

Almost everyday lately I have about half a cup of egg whites and reduced fat cheddar, with some coffee flavored with agave and almond milk. :) It keeps me full until lunch and it's dang tasty.
-
That's an awesome feeling! Go you! :)

Thanks all! It's great to get some validation and finally see some pay off. It's taken me a logn time to get to this point, learning, working out, using MFP, etc. I now SWEAR by heavy lifting! I may go back and buy that dress today! :))

I can do 500 calories in 30 minutes of weight training and 15 mins of cardio :) Weights are the best!

I drive an hour to work for my 8-5 and so I eat breakfast at work as well. Lately I've discovered I really love Quinoa for lunch. Breakfast: I keep a container of cooked egg whites I pop in the microwave for breakfast. Lunch: Quinoa with half a chicken breast as a base - so versatile! I'll add: cucumbers and garlic…

Going to a fast food joint for a salad is like going to a hooker for a hug.... Try to keep fast food an occasional treat only
-
I agree - build some muscle and you will likely like the results much better!
-
I like it with cucumbers,a protein source, and garlic vinegrette. yesterday it was quinoa with avocados, tomatoes, some lime juice and onions for a Guac salad. I'll also have it with ricotta cheese and a tablespoon of spaghetti sauce - it really goes with anything!
-
THIS! i have a Polar F6 and could not recommend it more! Whereas I have an older version (would love to upgrade) this little beast has been with me through thick and thin and taken tons of abuse -- it's been my best motivational tool to keep me at the gym working hard.
-
I agree with the 25+ pounds. I started at 199 and no one really seemed to notice until I was around 165! I've lost 4 lbs this month and no noticeable difference.
-
Good info! I can never figure it out...and then my back hurts XD
-
Hihi! I'm 5'11" and currently weigh 166 lbs. My highest weight was 199 lbs. It took me around 3 years to get down to 159 lbs :( but I learned a lot! I gained a bit back after the holidays this past season and am now back on MFP trying to get to my goal weight of 150lbs. Feel free to add me!

There are always a variety of people who work out; people who look great, people who look not so great, and those in between. don't let how others look affect how you treat yourself! get in there! Personally I use those who look better than myself to motivate me to succeed!
-
I have the same problem. My only solution has been not having any type of junk in the area and available for consumption. Keep nuts on hand. Etc. I'd be interested to know other opinions as well.
-
5'11" here! Goal weight is 145/150, currently at 162 :)

Hey! I'm 5'11" :) A brand that I found that's great in tall sizes is "iT!" jeans. They're stretchy and their longs are LONG. I usually just buy them from amazon or another online store. Buckle carries them but they seem more expensive there. Congrats and happy hunting!

This is the first thing that came to my mind yesterday and made me want to take photos to compare! lol I've been keeping monthly measurements, and I have lost some inches. It's hard to let go of the evil, dirty scale and you are all correct, we do get a distorted image of ourselves. All this positive reinforcement though…
