I taught junior high for a few years before I took my current job (teaching inmates at Federal prison.) Teaching school, I would go home exhausted every day. I had no energy to workout or do much of anything. Now, while I work 7-4, year round, I go home with a desire to move. I either take zumba, yoga or get on the…

I love to accept new friends and do challenges! (I'm in about 3 workweek ones right now. lol) Add me! deannavandusen@yahoo.com

I love some classes (Zumba, kickboxing, yoga) and hate others (BodyPump, step.) You'll never know until you try!

I saw s'mores crispy M&M's yesterday at Walmart. I backed slowly away. I would have definite damage to my calorie count.

A chocolate premier protein, tablespoon of sugar free, fat free chocolate pudding mix, and a tablespoon of Hershey's sugar free chocolate syrup, blended in my ninja with ice. I drink my breakfast in the car on the way to work.

I saw a dish in a restaurant once with grilled chicken in the eggs. Kind of like an omelet. It was called Mother and Child Reunion. Totally made me laugh.

I received my new Blaze for Mother's Day, and a month later I can say I love it! Looking for new friends: https://www.fitbit.com/user/345F8H

I had a Fitbit Flex and had issues with it. Now I have the FitBit Blaze and I love it! You can check your steps, carlories expended, and heart rate with a flick of the wrist. I work in an environment where cell phones are prohibited, so I can't use my phone to check my steps. The Blaze has been very motivating for me to…

Not to hijack the OP's thread, but I have a question about this as well. Is height the only important factor in BMI, besides weight? I'm 5'5 1/2" tall, but I'm super short waisted, and long legged. I have a 34' inseam. The numbers that put me in the "normal" range seem high for me. I think I'd look like a twig if I got as…

Hi is it too late to join in? SW:175.8 GW by 11/30: 160 UGW: 145

I'm a hair under 5'6", and my current weight is 170. My goal is 145. I have extremely long legs, and a really short upper body. My lowest adult weight was 129. I look at pictures from that point and I don't like the way I look. Too bony IMHO. My husband likes my thicker booty and bigger boobs. If only I could spot reduce,…

Damn, girl! You look amazing in that dress! Someone with a smaller chest wouldn't look nearly as good. You're going to knock that ex-fling on his butt.

I'm needing a kick in the butt, so I could definitely use some friends. Add me please! https://www.fitbit.com/user/345F8H

I adore the Under Armour outlet, and I can sometimes find good deals in Marshalls. I do a lot of Zumba and need high-impact sports bras (which can be pretty pricy.) Target also has great workout clothes.

I use a HRM faithfully and I burn between 500-600 calories an hour in Zumba and I'm only 155 pounds. I also have two kick-butt instructors who keep us moving for the full hour of class.

I absolutely loved this! I teared up a little actually (I refuse to blame my PMS hormones for that part.) It is so refreshing to see some positivity on these boards. I love to wear matching outfits and my lipstick to the gym. I refuse to leave my house without looking put together. That's the way my Southern Belle mother…

I might be wrong, but I think Mark Sisson has a primal pyramid on mark'sdailyapple.com. Good luck in teaching them young. My 16 year old has not been as easy to reteach about his diet. lol

I am 36, 5'5.5" and about 151 (on a Whole 30 and can't weigh myself for another week.) Bust - 36" Waist - 29" Hips - 36" I would love to keep the bust and hips and drop the waist another 2-3 inches and flatten my 3-baby pouch. Since losing 20 pounds, my boobs dropped the most. :(

Normal is a setting on the washer. I adore ketchup on scrambled eggs. I also love ketchup on my steak. MMM ketchup. I haven't done this in a while, but I also use to love mixing the fake crab, black olives, and Deluxe French dressing and eating it on saltine crackers. My family use to think I was insane, but good Lord it…

I've just began the Paleo way of eating. I am specifically on my first Whole 30. Is it easy? Not if by easy that means I can just grab anything, but it's certainly not hard. Losing my parents was hard. This is just a challenge. I'm hoping it helps with my stalled weight loss, joint pain issues, and overall health. Please…

I am starting the Whole 30 next Monday (for two reasons, one I don't want to have to overthink my 4th of July weekend and two I don't get paid until Saturday before my big trip to Whole Foods.) It's not so much a 'detox' as it is a resetting if you will of the body. You basically cut out the most widely known inflammatory…

I think the book is worth it. I got it cheap ($10 on my kindle), and I like the testimonials and the science-y stuff that makes sense to me. I have only read a couple of chapters so far, but it is helping fuel my motivation for doing it. I have a couple of friends who have done it and swear by it, so giving it a shot. :)

When I went on vacation, I tried to pack healthy options in the car. I brought whole fruit such as apples and peaches (things that didn't need peeling and could survive a little bumpiness, without needed refrigeration.) I also put lots of water in the ice chest. One funny (not to me at the time...)... we had agreed to stop…

Please add me! :) I literally just bought the book It Starts with Food and hopped on here to search other people on this path. After I have a chance to read the book and prep, I was looking to start the Monday after the 4th.

Hi, everyone! I just joined the group a few days ago. Yesterday I started with W1D1. I've signed up for a 5K in September, so I'm trying to start slowly so I can be running by then. :)

Thanks, y'all! I appreciate the help and tips. I know the importance of good shoes! I have flat feet, pigeon toes, and the whole nine yards. I had to get actual zumba shoes (Rykas actually) in order to do it correctly (i.e., not hurt). I need to go to our local running/fitness store to get fitted for the running shoes.…

I gave up all soda in December and I've never felt better. I was a Diet Coke junkie for many years, but after reading all the scary things about soda in general, I decided to give it up. I've never been a big coffee drinker, and when I do have it, it has to be completely calorie and sugar laden for me to enjoy it. I will…

My go to frozen treat is a scoop of Breyer's vanilla bean frozen yogurt in a little 20 calorie cake cone. 120 calories total and it makes me happy happy happy. :) I can sit on my back porch with my kids and eat my treat while they eat theirs. Or I'll add a scoop of the same yogurt with a little (1/2 cup-ish) Silk Dark…
