I've lost 82lbs so far. Its taken me 16 months but I did the majority (65lbs) in the first 8 months and went a bit off course and now am slowly getting down to my goal of 90lbs and ultimate goal of about 110lbs weight loss.

I'm in! I missed yesterday but I'll do 2 rounds today to make up.

Great work and time. I remember my first 5k in January and how great I felt for the achievement. Just like someone else said be prepared for the running addiction!!!

I got this book last month. The author makes a lot of interesting and convincing claims but researching into myself most is based on mis and anecdotal information about wheat itself. For instance when he harps on about wheats opiate-like character, the same study he mentioned actually said milk proteins produce the highest…

I'm in! I need some motivation as I'm going a little backwards and losing enthusiasm. SW: 243 CW: 165 GW: 160 Weigh in Dates: 11/1: 165 11/8 11/15 11/22 11/31 Total weight lost: Just for fun: Given that this is November, and the time of year for the American holiday of Thanksgiving - what is one thing you are thankful for…

Don't be upset by people that horrible enough to make negative comments to a stranger especially when you're doing something good for yourself. I didn't get verbal abuse when I started out but I did get looks from those typically arrogant males at the gym and once someone laughed at me running. Its hard not to be affected…

Nice post. Like someone else said fibre is sometimes counted as a carbohydrate but of course is indigestible so doesn't have a calorific value. Another thing is that the 4/4/9 calories of carb/protein/fat is just an average. Sometimes carbs can only have 3calories per gram and protein 5 etc. If the nutrition on the label…

Hi Ellie, I'm from London and I've been using this site and app everyday since July 2011 and has helped me a lot to lose about 80lbs and still going. Feel free to add me (and anyone else).

I'm on a U.K. programme called Weight Wins (aka as lbs for £'s) were you can be rewarded for weight loss. Its not really for charity but I suppose you can donate what you earn. You have to of course pay membership into it but depending on the plan you take you can earn up to 60% more than what you put in. I only joined…

I'm actually working at the Olympic Village currently as a chef and have to say that the McDonalds in the dining room is as busy as the other eateries. I'm not pro-McDonalds but some of the food that is coming out of the other kitchens is not any better than them. Because of the scale of the whole thing there is a lot of…

Congrats on hitting your weight target! Yes, I do have a problem with binge moments. I really enjoy exercise but sometimes I have to work so hard to burn off a binge. When it happens I simply don't care about the hard work I've done or the consequences of putting on weight all I want to do is EAT, EAT and EAT. I do…

I can totally relate to how your feeling. I've lost ~75lbs and still feel as large as did when I started and because I mainly walk/run for exercise my stoamch and arms are not as slim as my legs but I know as I continue it will even out. Just keep at it, maybe try exercises that centre around helping the stomach.

Hey, I'm 5'8" and my initial goal was 155lbs, I'm about 165 now (started at 245) but still have a large stomach and think I need to lose around 20-30lbs until I get the lean and toned physique I want.

To answer my own question. I just searched them on scamadvisor and it seems that they sell pirate DVD's and are not even based in the UK, obviously too good to be true. I'll just wait a bit longer and save for the real deal.

I spend around £30 each week on my grocery shopping (including non-food items) from Tesco for myself. But even with £30 I shop all the 3 price ranges (value, normal and finest). I plan my meals ahead, make my own lunches and cook dinner for 2 days (and sometimes for the freezer). My meals are varied but usually only…

This reminds me of a regular 5k walk/run that happens over here for Breast Cancer Research called 'race for life'. Everyone has a back sign that says 'I race for life for...' which is similar to your ideas. I think the 'in memory of Kathy, in honor of Jenny' is very succinct and apt without being too 'memorial' like.

Good q. Someone last month gave this formula but results work out different. I'm non the wiser which one truly equals to % lost, but as I'm not a number person I'm guessing the formula CW/SW is prolly right. Do you think I should change this for next month?

10k is just 1.2miles more than 5 miles so I don't think you need to train any different to what you did for 5miles. On saturday I did my 1st straight 10k on a treadmill, my speed started at 12km/h then once I passed the 5k mark I lowered it to 11.5 then finished at a speed of 10km/h as I was having trouble keeping up.…

Wow already... well done!!!

Its been a up and down week for me, been fighting (and losing) cravings but have been managing the exercise to lose 2lbs this week. Just passed 3/4 of my overall weight goal loss and I'm 6kg/14lbs away from a healthy BMI... I'll be counting them down one by one until I get there. Good luck everyone for the rest of the…
