You can get Tri suits which are like all in one lyrca things with bike padding on. As it was my first (and potentially only) tri, I thought I'd just wear what I had. I have a 22 month old and a 3 and a half yr old. The days I am at home with them I wait til the little one naps and I let the big one sit and watch me do my shred DVD. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I ended up not doing it as when I got home they were very tired after a busy day with grandma so all they wanted to do was snuggle with me.
